Sodalis Elder Living

When my parents first moved to Elmcroft of Cottonwood things were great, but now it's not. They don't have anyone to cook, the food is horrible, my dad is refusing to eat. They are having a hard time hiring people. My mom was standing in the hall crying one day and she never cries. We found three bugs in my parents room, that's not good. I would not recommend this community at this time. I'm really hoping it improves.

Shared Rooms very small

I toured this location when I was looking into options for a loved one. I was not impressed by what I saw here. They did not have a marketing person available to show me around, so I was given by tour by one of the housekeeping staff. It just seem worn down, it wasn't clean and the carpets were old. I also was not a fan of the layout of the rooms or the grounds themselves.

facility very expensive but not worth the money. The rooms were tiny! and the place did not feel warm and welcoming. The asst. director (man) was very informative. The physical therapy dept. was not adequate for my needs either.

During our loved ones stay some of the staff members were great and others were not. Being in the health care business, It was just not a good experience, the staff were not very communicative or consistent throughout, we never knew if they were on break, helping out other residents or just not taking phone calls.

We would rate 1 for all. What they could improve on would be everything - onboarding, food, the weekly care that is supposed to happen but does not, and the response times.

What they could improve on would be truth in the sales department. all the way to housekeeping .

I would NOT ever recommend Sodalis. Worse place and ever! Dirty, understaffed, poor leadership and communications, roach infested, uncommitted.

What they could improve on would be to have more training for staff. They made a careless drug error.

My father had a horrible experience at Sodalis Pensacola. The staff were almost cruel in their treatment of residents. They were careless with administration of meds and we had to intervene several times to try to get it corrected. We raised concerns several times and never addressed. We eventually moved my father to [removed name] which was MUCH better. What a difference the staff makes - they were much more friendly and caring.

Rating Sedalis assisted living. A big 1 for all categories. Number one, safety. Slippery floors, lack of safety bars when walking, shower especially bad, and water pressure awful. Night staff with few exceptions, really brutal. I've been yelled at, door slammed, given wrong Meds, etc.. activities have consisted of one hour of bingo once a week. Director keeps saying. They are going to hire an activity's person, but so far...no. Food at times not too bad, but sadly, too often, served cold ( especially eggs and soup)ask for lettuce and tomato on burger or a salad, told "we're out". You get a bun with patty of meat. So yes, overcharging for what they provide.

Hey - this is supposed to be an assisted living community - it is NOT - there are only approximately 8 residents who can be classified as assisted living. The rest should be in memory care or a nursing home!! I am undecided what to do!!

Do not move your loved ones into Sodalis of Largo. The management has shown a disturbing lack of care for my parent’s well-being. Essential, doctor-prescribed medication was denied because they “couldn’t find the order,” which is completely unacceptable. I have gone in person multiple times, specifically requesting to speak with the executives running the office. Each time, the front desk staff—who are neither welcoming nor professional—disappears into the back, only to return with the same response: the executives are too busy and will see me when they decide it’s convenient. Not once have they made the effort to meet with me directly. It’s also a known fact that employees are treated poorly here, which only adds to the toxic environment. My husband and I are already searching for another facility to move my parent. Families deserve better than this lack of compassion, accountability, and basic responsibility.

Dining was dirty and unhealthy most meals in edible, hallways smelled like urine. Staff was rude. My mother fell at 9 PM and was found later the next day at 9 AM by her neighboring tenant as she was banging on the wall, asking for help she was transported to the hospital, bruised from her head down her entire body her walker was left in the sunroom with all her medication's in her basket. Her room was not cleaned while she was in the hospital. I had to mop the floor from her vomit from when she fell, all the sheets were ripped down off the bed from her trying to get back up. The billing was never correct. When moving in I had to clean the apartment myself. It was not clean. It was very dirty. I winded up, pulling her out of there and she was admitted to Discovery villages on Cove Road, which was an amazing experience… She has since passed this past Father's Day.

Very dissatisfied with the communication at Sodalis concerning my dad.

Quantity over Quality of care. Staff are not genuine once an individual is in the facility. They market good, but it doesn't match what they say. The overall quailty of care is very poor. From 1 to 10 they are 1 being very not where I would want my love one to reside.

Mom is incontinent and needs help dressing, bathing and toileting. They were nice but not trained to handle the level of care. Ants in the room and on bed. Sink back up. No closed captioning on TV. Walking when she went in and barely about to stand 2 weeks later bcs they left her in a wheelchair. Not taken to the dining room 3x/day as they assured this would occur. Always in poop. Found with 2 diapers. Diaper rash. Day after leaving, diagnosed with ecoli UTI. Skin tear, no mention of fall or tear- blood everywhere. Did not watch her take her meds. Iron not taken and anemia on blood test day after discharge. This was only 2 weeks. I can’t imagine what would happen longer than 2 weeks.

Makes promises and promises, never comes through. Should be called unassisted living. Housekeeping never comes, there's no housekeeping staff. Would highly recommend scouting other options, if you have any requests for staff, don't expect a response.

The staff at this facility are positively awful…unorganized, uncaring and unaccountable. The facility looks nice on the surface but the services are not as advertised. Almost too many issues to list… laundry gets routinely lost and comes back damp, Amazon deliveries get lost, the shuttle doesn’t run as promised, the food isn’t served as promised. They advertise that there is a daily meal but that there are “always available meals”. They often fight and refuse to serve these other options. They have not administered meds correctly at times. They promote social activities but don’t really care / I was in there on [date removed] and the calendar up was for September. Their health and wellness director [name removed] treats residents poorly and has a terrible bedside manner. Communication across the board is terrible. And they continue to raise prices for the level of care. We are exploring other alternatives at this time… Do not be fooled by the nice exterior/interior and the marketing.

The staff does not seem to be experienced. And they were constantly using the term "short staffed" to answer all of our concerns. More activities, better activities, activities that allow them to socialize with each other more and the food was just bland. It literally was just like canned food all the time or seemed like can food all the time.
