Sodalis Elder Living

When our family had the in person tour, due to the big Texas freeze they were going through a giant renovation. When we walked in it smelled like someones take out food. The memory care unit had story time going on, and they were all just huddled in the hallway, there was no stimulation or activity. The assisted living side was very nice, and it just seemed like they gave the dementia residents the bad side of the community. No very welcoming on that side.

Only had one female bed available

Not sure how often they change the filters in the room for the air/ heating. Noticed it was on cool but didn't feel cool. Opened the door took out the filter . It had 1/2 inch of dust. Couldn't even see the holes in the filter. It was solid dust. Cleaned it ourselves. My father has a problem with his toilet getting plugged and can't get any help in fixing it. He calls but no one comes to take care of it until much later in the day... Poor management at this place.

I went on a tour here and the staff was nice and helpful. They answered all of my questions. The staff here really didn't address the residents and I didn't like that. And they were reading Little Red Riding Hood I know they have memory issues but I couldn't think about my dad listening to that.

I met with [Removed] in her office and she advised straight away that they are not a memory care facility and do not have the resources for a resident who needs as much help as my mother will need. She seemed somewhere between relieved and indifferent when I decided at that point not to waste her time taking a tour of the facility.

. I toured this community. The community did seem dark inside. I did not see that they had activities in this community. I was able to see that there was a nurse on site. I did not have the feeling that we were looking for.It did not havea good feeling being there. They do have a dog in house. I would suggest families tour this community for the care. It was not a clean community

One of my parents stayed here for six months, the staff is unskilled, they will promise you the moon but won't follow thru, very smooth talkers, food is bad.

I feel this community does not match the price they are asking for. If it were cheaper I would see them as an option. The room seemed not big and nice. They do not have amenities. It seems like the staff are working with what they have. I did not like the price and small room. The people and tour guide are all nice.

Reasonably nice place, but I don't think they have what we're looking for in terms of memory care unit.

The night people coming on at about two in the morning talk and laugh so loudly that they wake me up. Then they have an old man who gets up and yells up the hallway at midnight. If I could afford a better place I'd move!!!

When my parents first moved to Elmcroft of Cottonwood things were great, but now it's not. They don't have anyone to cook, the food is horrible, my dad is refusing to eat. They are having a hard time hiring people. My mom was standing in the hall crying one day and she never cries. We found three bugs in my parents room, that's not good. I would not recommend this community at this time. I'm really hoping it improves.

Shared Rooms very small

I toured this location when I was looking into options for a loved one. I was not impressed by what I saw here. They did not have a marketing person available to show me around, so I was given by tour by one of the housekeeping staff. It just seem worn down, it wasn't clean and the carpets were old. I also was not a fan of the layout of the rooms or the grounds themselves.

facility very expensive but not worth the money. The rooms were tiny! and the place did not feel warm and welcoming. The asst. director (man) was very informative. The physical therapy dept. was not adequate for my needs either.

During our loved ones stay some of the staff members were great and others were not. Being in the health care business, It was just not a good experience, the staff were not very communicative or consistent throughout, we never knew if they were on break, helping out other residents or just not taking phone calls.

The Manager was fired after we left. It wasn't being run well. She told me we couldn't keep Mom there unless we had a full time Aide with her. They put her on a medicine that made her rage, too. So, when she got off that medicine, she was much better.

I was very disappointed with the facility. It seemed to me that they were more geared towards assisted-living than memory care. The entrance was very nice on the assisted-living side, but when I had to drive around to the back of the building to enter the memory care area, which had very little furniture in the common areas people in wheelchairs just scattered about was not impressed gray walls with no pictures just wasn’t a happy place. We would rate 1 for all. What they could improve on would be everything - onboarding, food, the weekly care that is supposed to happen but does not, and the response times.

What they could improve on would be truth in the sales department. all the way to housekeeping .

I would NOT ever recommend Sodalis. Worse place and ever! Dirty, understaffed, poor leadership and communications, roach infested, uncommitted.
