Sodalis Elder Living

[Name Removed] was extremely knowledgeable and about the facility. She does her job very well. I know if I had any further questions. I could contact her, and she would definitely be able to help me. She did spend quality time with us. Which was greatly appreciated.

. I realize staffing is a problem for management. The quality of the food has range from good to bad. It may be due to the kitchen staffing. The activities seem to be adequate. The room seems to be nice with the furnishings we supplied. Staff sometimes ask to show the room to perspective occupants. Room temperature seems to operate very well. My wife, [name removed], seems to be comfortable in the room. The bathroom facilities seem to be very good. They are much safer, shower facilities, than we have at home. Her laundry and room cleaning are done once a week on Tuesday. Dispersal of daily medication seems OK except for an occasional late or miss.

Turnover is a big issue. Medicines aren't handled well due to turnover and always a new person to train. Mom always said the food was bland.

Most employees are very friendly. A few are mean and not helpful. Quality of care, rehabilitation is great. Not enough employees. Can't get help timely. Have to wait hour or more when need help quickly. Food is not healthy. Too much sweets, salty food. Need more raw fruit and vegetables. Activities generally good. Would like a gym to work out on own. Socializing with others is good.

Communication - they need to listen to their loved one and make sure follow thru on promises made by staff. I'm interceding almost weekly

Lot's of turnover. Good amount of entertainment for the residents. Food could be better.

The number one thing is my mom is closer to me now I'm only five minutes away number two the food that they serve is excellent. I've had it a couple times now and that there they get a good point for that. The services are performed as required so anything else that needs to be taken care of I take care of The community is very warm excepting and communicative they communicate with each other. They are all dying together in the same dining room they have their games and activities and whatever they do most of the people there are involved with it so she's having an adjustment but she's already has a friend And now she's better now it's her attitude is better. Everything seems better there.

The facility is nice and clean and well decorated. The staff is friendly and helpful. It did seem like they were in the midst of a transition and things were not always consistent.

Nice people but no staff! Frequent falls due to no one following up on request for check ins. They would send [name removed] out and we would not even know till the next time we called and they would say oh yeah, she's fallen four times in the last five days and we sent her out twice.

Stay close to your loved one there and make sure the staff/admin know you are very involved in your loved one's life so nothing slips through the cracks. Facility conditions overall are good as I have visited others not as nice as Sodalis.

If you're looking for a facility for someone that needs a high level of care, I would not recommend Sodalis.

We moved my parents here last year. PT is great and overall they seem to be nice people. However I have joined my parents for several meals and unfortunately almost every time the food is really bad.

I was pressured to place mom before I was financially ready, and Mom did not move in til the end of June. Sodalis agreed to reduce the July rent by half if I paid half June and the $[removed] community fee. I paid the rent and the fee. July rent was not reduced, nor was August rent reduced when I brought the situation to their attention. Additionally, I completed the paperwork to allow their pharmacy to manage her prescriptions. I received a call from my mom on [date removed] telling me she had no pain medication. I went to Sodalis and spoke to [name removed]. He told me he could not find the paperwork for the pharmacy services. I was able to get an emergency prescription from her clinic, followed by a full month. I am now managing her prescriptions because I can't trust them to get them right. I would say overall I have been through a lot of stress I just didn't need. I still have not received the July rent reduction. My mom has not been happy, but mom wouldn't be happy no matter where she is. I can't move her because l just can't afford to, and I don't want to cause further upheaval in her life. So, overall, I feel like the facility was very poorly managed. Perhaps [name removed] can fix the management issues.

They are supposed to provide showers several times a week, but there have been long gaps without one. They said they would change the sheets every Tuesday, but that has only happened a few times-once only because we removed the sheets ourselves. Communication isn't very good; we often have to ask or remind them multiple times, and sometimes tasks still don't get done or are done later than expected. Don't get me wrong, we love a lot of the staff-it's just that the communication is lacking.

There's been a lot of staff turnover which has greatly impacted the service and consistency. Huge lack of communication. Better for more independent living.

Came in to visit a friend and check it out for my dad. It's like a memory care unit more than anything. I know, I have managed them. I would never put my dad in a place that boasts activities with absolutely nothing going on for 4 hours. The food was awful looking. Not for us.

My mom was only in the facility 6 days before she passed away. She visited the emergency room 4 days out of those 6, due to falls. The first emergency room, which is the go-to emergency room, was awful. Mom was there 6 hours and they never dressed her wound and ended up soiling her pants as we had to wait too long since the nurses were trending to a very unruly OD next door. Sodalis did honor our request to never take her there again if she had another emergency room trip. She ended up at Baptist after her subsequent falls. Overall, the place is nice and small, creating a small town atmosphere. I'm afraid my mom was too far into her disease for Sodalis to be a good fit for her. She needed someone right next to her when she got up to do anything and having a necklace with a button to push was not a concept she could grasp at the stage of her disease. The facility was also unable to provide the exact 1-on-1 she needed. It just wasn't a good fit for our family/mom at the time. It might have been if we had looked at it about a year ago.

It was kinda in the middle. The management and staff were good when we started but changed soon afterwards. Then it slide down the scale. It was a hard transition for dad.

Food is Decent, does not always match the Menu. Sometimes the portions are rather small. They serve Factory Egg's for Breakfast. A lot of Pasta, and loads of Sugar. End of the Month a lot of items like Juice are missing. Drinks are served in very small glasses, not enough to keep a person Hydrated. The environment is short on comfort for an Elderly Person. The heat was turned off to my Apartment in Early February and we had a lot of Cold Nights after that. People wear Coats and heavy Sweaters to the Dining Room and the Hallway's are very Cool. I suspect financial trouble because an A/C unit has failed in one of the hallways and they are not having it repaired. If your Elderly Person is Sensitive, you should look elsewhere.

They were understaffed, it could take up to an hour after the bell for service was pressed or no one would come at all The emergency door was used all day and night by staff making the buzzer go off, resident room was next to that door Doors were locked at night but no staff managing door to let visitors out, you had to walk around looking for someone Washed clothes were brought back wet. One time the staff asked if we had detergent so they could wash clothes. It was clean most of the time. Most of the staff was nice and dud their best but they were several under staffed
