There is a variety of activities for the residents to participate in. The staff are very friendly. The community is cozy. This is a good environment for my loved one as it is a simpler community for them. The portions of food seem to be larger than the residents will eat. The way they present it on the website, is not what is being served in the community, and it appears it can look overcooked. The food can also be cold for the residents.

This was an okay community. However, the marketing person didn't seem to know much about the community during the tour.

The floor staff is very friendly, however we do think when it comes to the value for cost we are not getting a good deal for what our loved ones are receiving. The activities are still pretty restricted, but we do know they are offering bingo. When it comes to the meals, our loved ones never want to leave anything on their plates, but the meal portions are just too large so they get frustrated when they have to throw food away.

The community is assisted living and they offer some care services. If you just need assisted living I would recommend this community to others

I'm satisfied with the care

My mom has recently made the move into this community and so far she is loving her new living environment. I think the staff are doling great job with how they are running things and I am comfortable with the care she has been receiving. She has said how much she is enjoying participating in some of the activities they offer as well as the tasty meals the chef provides. Overall it has been a pleasant experience and I would recommend it to anyone interested.

My mother started out in the assisted living area at Elmcroft of Austin, but I sooned realized that she was in need of memory care. So while I had my mother out to lunch they moved her entire room over into the memory care apt so that when we came back my mother felt she was still in her own apt. They are very caring, compassionate and they show their residents that little extra something in how they care for them. I did some intensive research in finding a place for my mother and Elmcroft showed me that they went the extra mile. They have what they call companion rooms which have separate bedrooms but a shared sitting room and my mother had a built-in friend! They have become inseparable. Elmcroft staff makes sure that your family member is not isolated and that they are kept active with coloring, bingo (using animal crackers instead of chips which my mom ate as she played). They make a baked dish each Wednesday (a yummy peach cobbler last week.) There's also the exercise group for all who want to burn off calories to participate in. The Memory unit has their own dining area with table clothes, and in fact we had a birthday party for my mom on the 11th. Everyone attended (including the director) showing the little something extra they do. They also have a great gerontologist practice that visits the premises so I do not have to take my mother out, My goals for mom was safety, quality of life and that I could be a part of her care- Elmcroft offers all three of these! I can definitely recommend Elmcroft of Austin to my friends and family.

Nice establishment. Very clean. The staff is very nice and caring not only to the residents, but to the families as well. Actually I would have to say it is the staff that make this place. They go way over and above to be kind and considerate to the residents and the caregivers/families. I know it's a very hard job, but these people really do care. Two small gripes: 1. Activities - Could be better. My Grandmother is borderline Dementia and physically very capable. Most activities were either well below her mental state or activity capabilities. Activities IMO need to be more thought through for the spectrum of residents in this facility. 2. Food - I was sold on this "fine cuisine" they serve... I can tell you I have eaten with my Grandmother several (10) times and the food... well it is hit and miss. Some days are very good, while others.... I ate the meal, but would never had done so if my Grandmother was not with me. All in all, I will take my Grandmother back to this place when/if she must go back into assisted living. The level of compassion and caring makes the difference for me.

My father-in-law has lived at Elmcroft for a month-and-a-half and my only notice of improvement would be their laundry procedures. They do his laundry for him and the clothes are not always hung up Matt laid across the backs of chairs and if they're folded they're not folded neatly and put in drawers.

My parents both recently moved into this community and I have been very pleased to see how well they have adjusted to there new living environment. They have had no major complaints and seem to be enjoying the company of the other residents that live there. Another big positive is they are liking the meals they serve as well as the dinning experience. So far everything is going well and we are excited to see what is too come.

My loved one has really been enjoying the different meals they offer at this community, they have a wide variety of choices and healthy options. I am disappointed on the lack of motivation the staff has had for my dear friend, he has not been pushed to join in any activities and is left lonely a lot of the times.

This was one of the places we looked at when looking for options in the area. It was okay, there were no red flags or anything, but just not the best fit for us.

Elmcroft was not quite what I expected...prior experience with the property (several years ago, under different ownership structure) was less than desirable. The new Elmcroft is a very nice place! They've done a fantastic job improving appearances and performance! Everyone on the staff was warm and welcoming to my Mom and me and has gone out of their way to make her feel at home! I feel comfortable she's safe and looked after not only by the Elmcroft staff but by a bunch of caring residents...no place is "perfect," but this spot gets pretty close!!

Very nice staff. Was not overly impressed with the place because of a slight odor there. Residents seemed a little unkempt. Will continue looking.

The staff and the facility itself were nice enough, however the atmosphere wasn't very warm or welcoming. It was also a bit more expensive than other similar options we'd looked into.

I think it is great place to be. People are very friendly and know how to take care of people. Great place

26 March 2013. Almost funny situation. This property was only on my list because of a personal reference. Not until I made the drive did I realize how far out of my desired distance it was. Upon my arrival, the receptionist seemed to be having a bad day and told me that Mary S. did not have an appointment with me; rather adamently. So, I left. Mary called me soon after, apologizing. I explained that it was probably better not to waste her time with a tour due to the drive time for my Sister from Cedar Park. I would recommend still recommend others check out the facility.
