Sodalis Elder Living

Rooms and facility are very nice. I love the staff. They're all very kind. They do a good job cleaning activities. Director is amazing. Apartment size is good. We have a full-size bed a reclining rocker a TV a side chair a bookcase and it still feels very spacious. There is a small kitchenette area. That's nice with a mini fridge and microwave. Bathroom is a great size. very large nice shower overall very happy.

Sodalis is a community that is a bit old but the management and staff are outstanding. Can't say enough how accommodating and nice they are. Definitely a community you can feel confident that your loved one is being taken care of.

Elegant place and very friendly staff. Good food. The way the criteria of elderly was divided was a bit off. If you are just old and a bit forgetful it would be nice if you were placed with similar. People are sometimes verbally abusive and uncontrolled they should be in a different setting.

It's been positive. The admin folks are very responsive. My Aunt really likes it. Activities for the residents are timely. Housekeeping does a nice job. Room is great...room has two windows. Staff is always welcoming when I go visit or pickup my Aunt. Overall, very pleased with our selection

Sodalis had a wonderful very caring staff. They loved [name removed], cleanliness was not up to my par unfortunately, there was an unused condom on [name removed] window seal when I visited him once. And so many of the clothes in his closet were not his. Like I said though the staff was super nice. Apt was a great size lots of room, comfortable never saw him when they were eating or doing any activities

I rated the administration lower because we are working through some billing issues with them and they haven't been very responsive. I'm still working on it.

Nursing staff and techs awesome. Caring. Above and beyond. Good food. Lots of activities including family get togethers. Nice and clean in the main areas Apartment size fine. The rooms needed some TLC. Lots of peeling paint on the floor etc. My mother in law died and no one in admin reached out or called ever. I didn't appreciate that. It was a great value to be honest. She was happy there.

They could improve on increasing the staff and we would probably recommend Sodalis Texas City

The staff, especially in memory care were very thoughtful and caring as my dad progressed. They do their best to keep the facilities clean and looking nice. The apartments are nice size and well maintained. The food was average, but there was a nice selection.

The staff has been great!! Sadly though, there has been some changes in staff that has made it less as desirable. The activities are super fun and I can't say enough about [name removed]. She is so much fun for everyone. Studio apartment is a really good size.

The best thing about Sodalis to me, was the staff. They were all extremely nice and helpful. My most negative experience was leaving to come home. I couldn't get clarity on the date and time, until almost the last minute.

The facility was bright, clean and with no unpleasant odors. When we arrived, there was an activity going on with many of residents in attendance - all seemingly enjoying themselves. The person who guided us through the facility and "interviewed" us and, in detail told us about Sodalis, was very pleasant, and sensitive to our needs. We have decided not to use Sodalis for two primary reasons - it was farther from our house and with heavy slow traffic. And it was more expensive than we had anticipated.

All staff is very friendly and listens when addressing. There was a price increase within first 3 months. Room cleaning and laundry pretty spotty on service and communication involving on the neg.

The employees were nice but my father-in-law hated the place. He said to expensive and the food wasn't good. I would recommend but my loved one would not.

They have very friendly staff. The room is a good size. The food is not the greatest.

They have been consistent thankfully and are helpful. They are patient with my dad and supportive of me

When I walked in it felt like home. It was bright and airy, with sunlight streaming in from the room that led to the patio. There were multiple gathering areas off of the atrium. The activities director was great, planned things for residents to do throughout the day. Plus they had a family event every month. The dining room was nice and I loved that they served the residents meals like they were at a restaurant. My dad's 1 BR apartment was spacious and included cable tv. He was on the 2nd floor and there were spaces to lounge, shoot some pool, do puzzles or just hang out and not have to be in your room all day. Somewhat like a dorm for older folks. There was room to roam, plenty to do and good food. Did I mention the staff was great? They knew all the residents by name and would help direct them to activities, make sure they made it to the hairdresser on site, or the bus on Walmart Wednesdays. I loved how they kept the medication secure and dispersed it at the appropriate intervals. Dad would sometimes refuse his meds but they'd come back and ask at least 3 times because they knew he needed to take it. The cleaning lady and maintenance guys helped make sure dad's apartment stayed in good shape.

The activity director and head of nursing are both exceptional. The activity director [name removed] exudes compassion and energy, and provides all sorts of creative activities and crafts for the residents. [name removed], the head nurse is capable and efficient. She is in touch with the big picture and daily needs and gets things done. All of our issues have been minor, but they really need to work on response times to a resident's call. I definitely recommend this community.

The facility appeared to be very clean with residents calm and occupied. It seemed noisy with linoleum floors and a “large” resident population.

I think the majority of the staff are exceptional, with 1-2 just there for the paycheck. The quality of care is good and the dining selections are probably the best in San Antonio. The room is spacious. The activities and the manager of activities is energetic, engaging and thoughtful. This is not a perfect score because of the response times to call for assistance average 3-4 hours at times. Staffing is not adequate for number of residents.
