Sodalis Elder Living

My Mother has been a resident for 8 full years, now beginning her 9th year at Elmcroft at Timberlin Parc. Elmcroft is a very special place with its home-like environment and that real "family" feeling. The leadership and staff have such a genuine, caring attitude that I can relax, knowing my Mom and the other residents are getting the care they so rightly deserve. Since I have worked in the industry for many years, I feel like I have an excellent insight to say Elmcroft is the best! I have been able to recommend Elmcroft to others over the years and I currently have several friends whose loved ones call Elmcroft their home.

So far my mom seems to be enjoying being here. They have plenty of activities and they keep the community very clean. The staff has been doing well and seems to care about the residents. Overall everything has been going good and we are happy with Elmcroft. We would recommend this community to anyone.

The facility appeared to be very clean with residents calm and occupied. It seemed noisy with linoleum floors and a “large” resident population.

They are much better than they were 9 months ago. They have completely changed their staff and they are so nice and friendly.

I think the majority of the staff are exceptional, with 1-2 just there for the paycheck. The quality of care is good and the dining selections are probably the best in San Antonio. The room is spacious. The activities and the manager of activities is energetic, engaging and thoughtful. This is not a perfect score because of the response times to call for assistance average 3-4 hours at times. Staffing is not adequate for number of residents.

It's a beautiful facility and the studio apartment is working very well for my aunt. The residents and staff are friendly. There has been confusion about the services my aunt needs or doesn't need, which is the reason for the rating.

They were going through an overall staffing transition and there were some initial issues when my loved one moved in with caregivers but they have improved so much over the last couple of months with new staff and training that I believe is making a big difference in care. They have a new activity director that is doing a great job engaging the residents. My loved one says the food is great too. We have been able to build a great working relationship with the nurse and administration as well insuring our family member is well cared for.

Staff initially was very helpful but haven't really heard anything from them since she moved in. Including when they charged us twice for the same month. No call back. We had to cancel a check. Food has been good. Room good size. Staff very very friendly. Helpful.

Friendly helpful staff. Food quality has dropped in the last year from baked fish and steak to lots of casseroles. Mold on the bathroom ceiling that hasn't been addressed. Lots of turnover in management staff.

The staff is very kind. We're working together on how to motivate my sister to get engaged. -

Nothing is perfect. I definitely didn't get info from the Nurse Practitioner and she was put out when I asked questions. Actually, I don't recall ever meeting her in person. Prior to his passing I set him up with an outside doctor that was proactive. It was affordable but understaffed. If someone asked if I would recommend it, I would but with caveat to be involved and participate with their person. I could nitpick but overall I believe my dad was in a good place.

We're no longer there because my father passed away, but I would say a 4. However, the med techs all seemed very patient and caring. They took good care of him and Yes I do recommend the community to others.

The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. The room was very spacious, meals were pretty good overall, and the place was very clean. I would recommend them to others who are searching for a place.

Literal inclusive. No add on costs, watching the workers during serving a meal, patient and kindness toward all, faith evident by listening to employees talk, not too big. Location key, close to Warren church and my Daughter's home.

4.75-5.0. I wholeheartedly recommend this facility; staying here isn't at all like being shuffled off somewhere by your family. There are many many activities, good personnel and food, a very pleasant experience altogether

Overall, I'm happy with Sodalis Temple. It's been a good fit for my Mom. The size of the facility is not too big or overwhelming for her as she gets confused. And she has mobility issues. I really like the sales director, [removed name]. He's phenomenal and has been one the steady staff for my Mom. He's very personable and welcoming to all the residents. He diligently checks in with the families to make sure the residents are doing well. There's been a high turnover with several positions, and I'm unsure why. Since it's an assisted living facility, it's important for families to get a doctor's order for residents to receive medicine. Most of the staff that work there are friendly and hardworking. It helps that I'm able to visit my mom regularly and the staff know who I am. The current Activities Director does a great job hosting different events for the residents.

Great nurse and helpful management. Nice cafeteria. Also plenty of doctor help if needed.

Everything has been great with the exception of my loved one receiving her medications on time and correct after switching over to Hospice but I believe we have this worked out now. Studio apartment, staff, activities and dinning have all been good.

Overall experience for my mom was good. Most of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Very clean facility meals were very adequate. It appeared to have plenty of activities and games for the residence if they want to attend overall we had a great experience.

Overall Sodalis is a great place for seniors without extreme needs. My mom went in needing the most, level 5 care, and lasted less than 2 Mos. She has since been sent to the hospital and unable to return to Sodalis as they cannot provide care for her current needs. We were not prepared to be back in a situation where we don't know where mom can go next and cant take her home.
