The staff team there could work on improving their overall communication.

Morningside was our second choice. I LOVED the sales lady that I worked with here. The only reason we did not choose this facility was because we felt the atmosphere was going to be too big for my mom.

I would tell others that it has been difficult to know other residents, as they don't have a lot of activities going on currently. The grounds are well maintained with fresh flowers. The community doesn't provide cleaners in the price of rent.

At first the experience was really good. The maintenance men were very accommodating but we noticed it did take a long time for things to get fixed. The activities that were offered were not things that my mom liked to participate in, she needed more mind challenging games. The staff members here were great. I appreciated that they helped get her in here so fast and everyone was very accommodating. Mom did end up moving out because she improved so she could be in independent living.

Nice and clean. A few safety features I think can be improved (handicap door access and keycode type of safety for elevators).

We virtually communicated with this community while looking for a place for my loved one. They sent us info but the response time was slower than we liked and we were in need of a community that able to take our loved one quickly.

My loved one is in the memory care unit. He has incontinence issues, and they are not attentive to keeping him cleaned up. I've been very upset about that. I would say be very cognizant, and visit your loved one often and watch for these kind of things. They keep the facility itself nice and clean. My loved one loves the activities and is doing a lot. HIs overall health is very good, and he's put on some weight since he's been there. But I've just had to constantly be on their case about the incontinence issues.

We virtually toured this community. The staff was very friendly and shared a lot of great information. The tour was good but we couldn't do an in-person tour due to covid

We chose Morningside of Bellgrade because of the budget that she is on. I feel like they do not give very good care to my mother, she will ring for the aid and it takes a long time for them to respond to that.

It is just an okay community. My loved one is here, and they are saying the food is lousy. The only reason they eat it is so they have something to eat. I have to send snacks to my loved one. There is a small meal at 5 pm and there are no snacks for the residents and they don't eat until the next morning at 8 am. My loved one hates the soup. There is a larger meal given at lunch. The bread is hard. The soup is about half a cup and my loved one doesn't like it. It's not a community I would like to have my loved one in, but the location is good for my loved one. The staff come in at all times, and my loved one feels they snoop around. I wish they would have told me a listing of the items my loved one would need to have in their room. It made it very stressful during the move in.

We did a virtual tour with this community and the staff was very nice and informative. I don't like the virtual tours but that is not the community's fault they did everything they could to give us the information needed and to show us the community safely.

What I liked about Elmcroft when we toured was that it was just one floor, and a smaller community. But I'm not impressed with them. I've been questioning if I've made the wrong decision for my loved one. But my son gave me some perspective, that at least he's in a safe, secure place. So that helps when I think of the other things they're not providing. The floor in his room has not been vacuumed in over a month. I keep track of what's on the floor, and there's a bandaid with gauze that's been there for over a month. I'm there often, twice a week, so this is not just a temporary lapse. I had a lengthy conversation with the nurse last week. She said the housekeeper had a family emergency and had to leave. Supposedly she's back, but the stuff is still on the floor. I went back over the contract, which states that housekeeping is supposed to be provided once a week. And I would think vacuuming would be included. Another thing that's added an unnecessary level of stress is I received a letter from our long term care insurance company that indicated they have contacted the facility several times because they need verification that he's still a resident at the facility. And their calls and messages have not been returned. It's my money, and Elmcroft doesn't even have the courtesy to return a call to the insurance company. On top of that, my loved one has gotten sick more in the last couple of months than he has in his whole life. He has had conjunctivitis and a strep infection, and has been transported to the hospital three times total. And I question their housekeeping. This is during Covid. I feel like things should be even cleaner now than prior to Covid, yet he's getting these infections. I was told the second time he went to the hospital that it was MRSA, which went into cellulitis. Then the third time, they had an infectious disease team come in to look at him, and they determined that it was strep all along. I asked the infectious doctors if this was a carryover from the last time. and they said yes. He did not have MRSA, but strep, which is a vicious cycle. So I really question Elmcroft's housekeeping practices. It's just been one thing after another.

I would recommend you check around to different communities. The community is short staffed. The food is served cold on paper plates and plasticware. The staff say the residents can warm the food up in the microwave, but is hard for those that can't get up.

I left this tour with a feeling of "Meh." The person who led our tour was great. He did a really nice job, but the building overlooked the city utility yard. And I thought it would be really loud in the early morning hours, which I didn’t know that my loved one would like. So location was definitely an issue here.

Clean, well-maintained building. Street parking only, as far as we could tell. Good closet space but room is pretty small. Memory care courtyard with fans is nice. Not sure how much is done to engage self-isolating MC residents. Told that MC residents are checked on every two hours. Not fancy but seemed adequate.

We had a virtual tour there, and I did not like at all. I can't even pinpoint why exactly. I just couldn’t picture my mom there, and I just didn’t like it. My gut was telling me it just wasn't the right place for her.

[name removed] was very informative. The rooms had small bathrooms and little storage space. There was not a kitchenette. The price was reasonable but you had to add on to that depending on the level of care needed. For my situation, that means it would be about the same price as an all-inclusive facility that is much nicer, with much more storage and personal space.

The community is older and the rooms are unique so make sure you see the room that you are renting. the first floor is partially underground and I didn't see any air-conditioning unit so the upper floors may be warmer. I would recommend this community because they have several care levels, but the community is big and that can make it feel impersonal.

The staff members were all very friendly, and we were able to spend a great deal of time inside the community and eat the meals they served. We do think they could improve on the staffing, there was a pretty high turnover rate and we did experience some theft while our loved one was there.

We went for an in-person tour, but the office staff ended up showing us a video tour there in the office. Overall, this seemed like much more of a lockdown situation for people with worse dementia than our loved one currently has. There were no little kitchens in the room, and we wanted her to have more opportunity to cook things if she wanted to. We decided that assisted living would fit her needs better.
