It is a nice place, but there are some complaints. Not enough staff, always out of some food, dinners cold from sitting to long. Mom has been charged for things that she didn't get. Her mail is sometimes late in delivery, not enough medical staff. Sorry, for the criticism, but paying [fee removed] a month, things should run more smoothly. She has made some good friends there and is pretty happy, shortage of staff and inadequate food supply, really bother her.

I really appreciated the activity director for always encouraging [name removed] to attend activities. We had issues with language barriers with some of the staff not understanding when we asked for vital signs, unable to state what the most recent weight was, what is level of consciousness etc... she was also signed up for podiatrist visits on admit but we discovered in [date removed] that this wasn't happening so she went [date removed] without her nails being trimmed.

It's a place more for people who don't have the energy to take care of a normal home. The staff (nursing,CNA's) were fabulous. If someone is thinking about putting their family member there that has memory issues, it's not the place for them. They ignore their mental needs. They don't lock the doors at night. The Director of Nursing doesn't communicate well at all. We moved our mom to Canterfield and it is so much better!

I was there a lot to be with my family member The way some of staff talked to the residents was awful My family member fell on the floor goodness knows how long he laid there till they called me at 3:00 AM It's a nice facility, very expensive & they do not communicate well. You have to tell them you want to use their in-house doctor which I was not aware Covid was handled really bad My family member enjoyed the food I think? It was hard to tell because of the Alzheimer's When he fell they called me to ask if it was ok to call an ambulance It was on his chart to always call the ambulance ?? Then call me to let me know which hospital He ended up with double pneumonia & was admitted to the hospital for the 4th time ICU for 4 days Transferred to the 3rd rehab & he had 6 ER visits all in 8 months I do not know if things would have been handled differently but I do know he would not go back to Walnut Creek!

We are now 7 weeks using Dayton place. Overall the exper Has been good with a few concerns. The initial cost was set an assessment was completed. Since then, the level of care requirement has increased and cost have increased 25%. I feel that the initial assessment was to “get us in the door” and the increase in cost should have been refined from the beginning. Room set up was difficult. We were told that the maintenance crew would help but this did not transpire. We were told of a military discount on our tour of the facility it but this was not included on the cost.

It now is being bought out by Sencerii as of [date removed]. So you must realize there is a transaction taking place & that takes time to get back to normal for everyone. The food was pretty good in the beginning, but now it is like they don't care & neither does the Nurses care about following up to find out the reason. They either try to swap people's food or just forget about you. Like last night for dinner I had called ahead, which you allowed to do if you you don't find anything on regulation. My experience overall is very good. The staff we as a whole is very good & they have a lot of activities & 'they Encourage you to join and the community it self is very clean & again I think the only problem is they are so short of help with nurses & and maintenance people. This may be it probably. I appreciate most living here is that they offer doctors nurses Therapist to come to you here at this facility. Also they furnish Transportation, & over all it is s very nice place to call home.

They were ok nothing I would write home about. This is for a respite care My wife slipped and hurt her arm. When I pick her up she was dehydrated. Took me a week to get her back to her normal.

Slow at responding to requests to fix things in unit. Very friendly. Knows everyone by name. Dog friendly. Not good at listening to residents about things that they would like changed.

Overall, I am happy with Stoney Ridge and 80% of their staff is awesome. I don't think you're going to find much better odds in other facilities but that's just based on hearsay and not experience. I don't have anything else to gauge my experiences from since this is my 1st rodeo with AL. Memory care activities are nonexistent at Stoney Ridge And I do feel like they tend to push meds for behavioral situations versus using trained interventions for memory care residence. Their facility is lovely and well taken care of but room cleaning is sub par at best

a lot of the help is very sweet and very respectful but to that the administrator is leaving the end of this month and they call it Assistance when my mother hasn't gotten any Assistance other than to give her her medicine Also the food is OK and they don't have many activities that are enticing and they don't have a van to take anybody anywhere for any outings so it's just disappointing for the amount of money that is being paid to them on a monthly basis.

Everybody here is very friendly and helpful when you first move in and it seems it gets harder and harder to try to contact people there's nobody at the front desk half the time I leave messages for the nursing staff I don't get a response back for hours nobody's there on the weekends

I would like to see my mom's room a little cleaner than it is. Very dusty, and the floors are usually dirty or sticky. Would love to see the residents that are mobile like my mom, get outside more often than they do. Would like for them to even offer walks outside when the weather is nice. I think the fresh air would do them good.

Scores are pretty low based on the final months there. In the beginning, it was a better place I feel. The staff (non admin) we're always very friendly and seemed to be trying hard. I think they were just stretched too thin.

I really appreciate the concierge at AL in 5 star.. they take the extra time to put a personal touch on things. They know all the residents and do their best to accommodate their needs. Communication between nursing/CNA staff needs to be better. Especially new hires The activities are ok especially bingo. A little more work on the in-house movies would be appreciated. The majority of their residents are 70 years and over and have no interest in watching recent movies. More consideration from the staff needs to go into how they talk to residents and conduct themselves in the hallways. Every time they enter the apartment, they should say their name. Most of these residents can't remember their own name let alone staff members. Everything can be heard in the apartments, especially when they are yelling down the halls to each other.

It's a lot for two care givers to handle 45-ish residents and at least once a worker didn't show on the late shift so that left one worker for the night. I was a bit concerned when I first checked out the place that they might not add caregivers if they needed them. I was told that they hire when they need more people depending on how the incoming residents score on their need level. The answer was too vague. I wasn't given a specific formula for when they would add workers and I don't see an effort to add more people so that's disappointing.

I like the friendliness and clean smell. They can improve on wait staff attitude and assistance for feeble elderly. Not very organized and not communicative

It was not a good fit for advanced dementia. They advertise it's for memory care however they should be more specific on appropriate levels of dementia . They push medication to basically make them zombies it just wasn't a good experience for us. Now they did now great activities (exercise class, puzzles, live music) my grandmother was more Intellectual, it seemed childish to her. The music wasn't her era, she was 90. They had a big turnover with key staff right as she got there so it wasn't very stable. That may have changed and be more stable now. There were amazing staff members who understood her disease, but they needed better training for dementia so they understood how the residents thought and saw things differently. Again this may have been implemented. But families have to advocate for loved ones make presence known and stay involved, be unpredictable with times days so staff doesn't know. Things we learned.

[name removed] was wonderful and warm as the marketing person. She could not have been kinder or available. However, once my brother was admitted, we were dealing with his not being diligently cared for plus exorbitant bills . My brother is incontinent, and the room reeked horribly, as soiled bedding was left on the floor. It seemed his diaper was not changed often enough, since he often woke up drenched or soiled in feces. That seemed to be the practice in Assisted Living because as you walked past the residents waiting to go into the dining area, it smelled so terribly. I must say that the Independent Living section was NOT that way. It seemed very clean. There was also no communication with the staff to provide updates. My brother did enjoy the food.

It is better than most in the area, the safety measures are very good, the looping hallways are an excellent idea for exercise and relief of anxiety, the support group could be improved with a different leader. I would suggest that a new admit would maybe benefit from a wife staying at night & perhaps sleeping in the same room if permitted. I wish I had done that even with cost.

This facility looks very good but there is more to good care than outside appearances. Nurse is overworked with giving medicine and wasn't able to do much patient care. Techs were nice and tried to accommodate the best they were able. My husband was only there 5 days and then I carried him to hospital where he stayed 3 weeks with dehydration and afib. I was not very pleased. Families need to visit every day to make sure loved ones are being cared for properly. I had to pay over 2 months rent for 5 days plus $[fee removed] activity fee. No adjustments. EXPENSIVE!
