While the common areas appeared clean and pleasant, apartment areas were dingy,dark and not inviting. Slight unidentifiable "odor" in hallways.While stoves were present in apartments we found out later from a reliable source they were inoperable due to fire codes. While we mentioned our surprise at finding stoves to our tour guides they never stated this to us. Prices were higher than expected, but carefully explained. Apartments small and dated. Many amenities such as beauty salons, convenience stores,activities. Did not get the impression of an active, diverse community however. Very disappointed by the deception of being able to cook in an assisted living apartment. Also no ability to move into a "memory care" facility if the need arose.

This place was nice. Rooms were set up a little strange but workable. Had vegetables on the menu. The one turn off was when I walked in it had an 'old people' smell to it. That was not good.

I had a tour recently was very impressed. Had a good feeling the whole time I was there. Everyone seemed very happy. It was so informative. Just started looking to find the right place for my Mother and I found it.

Family members have been at this facilty for more than a year. We have the usual problems...lack of communication, management turnover, staffing issues to the point they had to use agency people. The facility is attractive and there is new management in place so I hope for the best. Change doesnt happen overnight. The food is very hit and miss and the employees agree. Some caregivers are great and others are not dependable. Same goes for the nurses. However, with that said, the staff went the extra mile taking care of my dad when he passed away. It is all inclusive pricing but is high compared to other places. I am very involved and come almost daily.

Nice location ,comfortable setting ,nice assited living area. We need closely monitored living area for memory care. Very nice personnel.

Feature wise, it seemed to have the essentials. However, it felt more like nursing care than assisted living. The inside reminded me of a hospital rather than an apartment building. They do accommodate pets however, do not have washer/dryers in the rooms. They did offer the possibility of a three month trial stay for my mother to see if she liked it. Logistics might be difficult but, it was a novel idea.

Very dissapointed that there was no prepared to meet me for the scheduled appointment and give me a tour. Eventually, the nurse on duty took time to tell me about this facility and provide a tour. This place did not seem as tidy as others I've visited, and it had a strange smell. The apartments are mostly studios and deluxe studios, with a little extra room for a sitting area. The 2 bedroom apartments are nice, but very expensive.

Had my 89 year old Mother there for a year. Left after 1 year due to the tremendous increase in care and costs. She is now in [Removed]. Much better place, $1,000 less per month, larger staff, more amenities, etc, etc. If you Must locate your family member in Kyle then Orchard Park is ok. They Do Try their best with what they are given, and I wish them luck.

Overall, I feel that Morningstar leaves something to be desired. My room is nice, and they do keep it quite clean, the food is excellent, and the staff are very nice and helpful. However, there aren't enough staff members. I regularly have to lay in my bed and wait for over an hour for someone to help me up in the morning. I like the staff, and I think they do the best they can with what they have, but they are in sore need of more people.

There was a construction hold up when we took a tour but it’s a brand new facility, which is what we wanted. They were what we wanted location wise but they weren’t ready when my Mom needed to move in so we had to choose somewhere else. The facility is big and has a lot of residents in it. The person that took us on the tour was okay. The representative that we were originally supposed to meet with forgot that we had the appointment and had to call someone else to walk us through so the person that wound up taking us on the tour didn’t really know as much about the facility as the original representative might have. It in no way negatively impacted our decision; however, we decided to go with a different community that had openings immediately.

I toured here when trying to find a place for my dad and I didn’t like it much. It’s old and it looks like a hospital hall when you’re coming out of your room. It doesn’t look like a living area. The facility was clean but the halls were very narrow and the rooms were dark. The living area was very limited and I don’t see how you could do many activities with people there. It’s a smaller space and I know it’s been there for a while. The dining area was very small and just off the main hallway. Just from my impression, it felt depressing. I don’t like to be closed in or in a place that’s not bright and that’s what this was.

I visited my dad every day for three weeks a few weeks after he moved into his A/L apt on the 5th floor at the beginning of Sept. My initial observation? Rarely would I find staff at the station on his floor after a certain time of day. Almost always needed to go to first floor reception with question or issue which couldn't be answered by that person anyway. It was explained that the attendant or caregiver had multiple floors to cover which would explain their absence from the floor. As I observed, and pointed out to staff, rare was the occasion I could find anyone on the 5th floor so they must be spending most of their time elsewhere. Congregating? My wife observed that even though his laundry was being done, clothing items were not being gathered from his bathroom. We were told they would pay closer attention in the future ensuring that all clothes intended for laundering would be taken care of. On multiple occasions meals normally served in the 2nd floor dining room were not served there without notifying the residents - who would show up for the meal finding the DR unattended and unlit because meal service had been switched to the 1st floor dining room instead. On one occasion my dad was informed when being served his lunch in his apt, (he has that option) that supper would be served at 5:30 in the 2nd floor dining room. It wasn't. I asked staff how could they possibly not know 4-5 hours before meal time that it wouldn't be served in a particular dining room. I was informed they should've known and advised him appropriately. I was told the issue would be addressed. All in all a very nice facility in good repair. The building is pleasant, open and airy; has a large open space with high ceilings on the first floor along with a small library and media center, and other activity rooms. I don't about all floors but A/L 5th & 6th both had a lounge/sitting area with tv and coffee service. A schedule of activities is published regularly. An attached indoor park hosts various types of bands on Sunday nights. A sing along is held on Monday afternoons, and a 'happy hour' gathering occurs once a week. Movies are also shown. My dad was offered the opportunity to socialize and to engage in activities without any pressure and allowed to decline if he so chose. Guest rooms are also available at less than the cost of a quality hotel accomodation.

In the last four years, the entire character of the facility has changed. Before it was definitely dedicated to the residents; in the last several years, changes have been made that definitely point to the bottom line being the companies priority.

I visited Farmington Square on October 6th after business hours, unscheduled, and the staff very kindly took me on a short tour of one of three homey cottages. The community seemed happy to see somebody new. I also got an intake interview and talked with [Removed](I think) for nearly a half hour. They were gracious with their time.

Evacuated during Hurricane Harvey, should have been notified with more time in advance, but still went ok.
