I decided to pick this facility for my Mother because it was the closest to me and they had an immediate opening. The administration took the time to sit down and talk with us. Everything happened so quickly and the staff members were accommodating us just as quick. Everyone here is so friendly and personable. They treat my Mother very well and they really care about her. The facility itself looks clean, smells clean, and it’s on the smaller side. For activities, they offer church services, singing groups, trips out to eat, a courtyard to walk around, and a small library. This community is a great fit for my mom and I would recommend it to other families.

Several months ago I decided I must move my husband from a very expensive, well-known, local, senior living facility. My husband was in long-term care and the quality of care he was receiving was terrible. He had numerous UTIs and was once admitted to the hospital for sepsis while there. Staff turnover was high and there was no consistency of care. I decided to investigate other local facilities and visited eight. I knew immediately that Magnolia Springs was the right place for my husband. And I was not wrong. Magnolia Springs is close to being perfect in all areas. The staff is awesome in the quality of care they give and their friendliness is genuine. They call each resident and spouse by their first names. A real "at-home" environment. The facility itself is lovely and kept immaculate. There are a number of activities for residents to select from each day. In fact, Magnolia Springs offers activities that families can participate in, such as a Mystery Dinner, a Thanksgiving meal that serves at least 450 residents and family members, and a Holiday Open House. And most important to a senior...the quality of food is tasty and easy to eat/chew. The "at home" feeling is reflected in the way residents treat each other with respect and friendliness. I loved having the option of selecting from several room/apartment options and appreciate a very reasonable monthly fee that includes personal care for my husband, I remember the day I drove my husband to Magnolia Springs for the "big move." I was concerned that I had made a mistake and that I was moving him to a new facility with as many, if not more, issues. That first night I slept well...The first time in over two years. My fears were put to rest as I knew he was going to be happy there and receive the quality of care he deserved!

Grand View is a private owned facility so they don’t take any type of public aid. Right now my mom is there and is living in a double room, which is what all their rooms are. The people that work there are great. It was a bit of a tough transition at first but they were really good with helping her settle in and everything else. They have a very nice van that they were able to use to actually pick my mom up from where she was at and they were very nice to her. She walks up and down the hall at the facility all the time and talks about how pretty and fancy it is, it’s great. She gets upset sometimes about wanting to come home and the staff is really good at redirecting her and they really take good care of her. [Removed], the manager, is great and she meets with my dad anytime he has any questions and she spends time with him, talking to him, and reassuring him about things. They even made a board for him with pictures of my mom participating in all of the different activities that she does there. There’s a big dinner and cafeteria area and that’s where they do most of their activities. The people there will dance with her and there are so many things for them to do. There’s an old time diner that they’ll take the residents to for pie and listening to music, there’s a beauty salon and they’ve done her nails for her, they’ll style her hair for her, and there’s a doctor onsite so no one has to leave to go to appointments. There were a few issues at the beginning with her being able to get dressed and they’ve adapted and started helping her to do the things she needs to do to get dressed. It’s a very, very nice place. The only problem is that it is expensive and the price is dependent on the level of care. I absolutely would recommend them.

Elmcroft is a very nice assisted living facility. It was very clean and all on one level. Everyone was very pleasant.

Very good organization the workers are efficient and take pride in their work, If you ask them a question and they don’t have an answer, they will get one for you. The medical people are especially good.

A. Very good visit with this site. Lots of areas for activities and eating. Rooms were clean and very nice. Reasonably priced for the area. Development located in a nice quiet neighborhood. This home had everything I was looking for.

Absolutely fantastic assisted living – parents lived there 1 ½ years. Executive director and resident director helpful and responsive. Staff all caring, knows number of families, all friendly - never a bad day of Magnolia Springs. Parents now in memory care. I feel so comfortable every time I visit and every day knowing mom and dad safe and well taken care of.

Magnolia Springs is the next best thing to living at home. Everyone employed in the building from the directors, front office, nurse, aids, dining room staff and custodians are very conscientious, hardworking, loving, kind and compassionate. On a daily basis, they treat my father with the utmost respect and dignity. The facility is beautiful, very clean, and has wonderful activities for all to take part in. It is like one big family! I am very blessed to have found such a fantastic place for my dad to call home.

Very caring staff and delicious food. My mother has lived 2 other places in the area and Magnolia Springs is the best!

Was having problems convincing my Father that putting my Mother in memory care was the safest thing for her being she was out wandering and getting hurt so much. It got to the point that she fell and broke her neck and she was put into rehab. [Removed] at The Gardens was my answered prayer. [Removed] went out of her way spent much of her time talking to me and letting me open up to her about what I had been going through the last two plus years, she then had a private meeting with my Father and laid everything out for him and said if he wanted the best for his wife that he needed to make the decision and keep her safe. The facility is very clean, people are happy and involved in many activities throughout the day. I got a great room for Mom where she has a little living room, bedroom and bathroom with a shower. I feel like we hit the lottery when I met [Removed] as I have been trying for over two plus years to get my Mom in a safe place that will take good care of her and the nursing staff there is very kind and caring. I have been to many facilities in the past two years and as [Removed] said to me, when you feel it's the place for your parent you will just know it, and both my father and I knew The Gardens of Va. Beach was it! The first day I was expecting problems with Mom but she actually was very pleasant and fell asleep in her own bed and Dad and I left knowing we made the right decision for her. I can't say enough about everyone at the Gardens, I feel like we now have an extended family with everyone there. I also want to thank [Removed] the Senior Living Advisor at A Place for Mom she was a very big help to me as well in this journey, I will forever be grateful to her and [Removed] for the way they both have gone above and beyond for me and my family. My parents moved from Magnolia Springs assisted living to their memory care this fall. It was smooth transitions and just what mom needed to keep her occupied!!

My mother has stayed at Magnolia Springs for 3 years and has received the most special, tender, loving, professional care in all aspects of life. Her quality of life has been greatly enhanced by living there and participating in the wide range of activities and transportation available to any necessary locations. The food is deliciously prepared and lovingly served to all the residents. It is a joy to visit and par take in the festivities as well.

My mother condition has unfortunately become more advanced and we needed to move her from independent living to assisted living. She needs more care than independent living could offer. When we found this community, they seemed really good. They are taking really great care of my mom. They are so patient and helpful. This facility is truly a good fit for her. They go above and beyond my expectations. My mom had a recent fall and the staff members were right there beside her with a wheelchair. For the next week, they would help her into a wheelchair, bring her downstairs for food, and made sure she was okay to walk when she was ready. I really like that this place is a good mix of independent and assisted living. They're there when you need them, and if you don't need them, you could walk around the facility and go on about your day. I really recommend this community.

Caring and experienced staff, friendly residents, extensive activities, flexible meal plan made this the perfect choice. Many different floor plans in various buildings. Would highly recommend this facility.

The manager, [Removed], is just so awesome here! She is just the best and I think the world of her. I would have loved to bring my mom to this facility but it just wasn’t for her. She doesn’t need the type of care that they are offering. The apartment they were showing was a 1 bedroom but right now my mom is doing so well that she just doesn’t need this advanced of care. Please talk to [Removed] though, she’s the best. I would highly recommend this facility!

Outstanding community!!!

My mother originally stayed at Magnolia to recover from hip surgery. After her rehabilitation, she was to return home. Mom liked it so much she decided to live their permanently. The facilities are always immaculate, the staff is always friendly, the food is great and the residents are happy. This is a very well run organization and it brings me such relief to know my mother is safe, well cared for, and truly happy. What a real blessing!

I saw several people living there that I knew from playing golf at Lake Monticello. I was very impressed with every aspect of Morningside

My wife has lived at The Village at Valley Creek for six months and we could not ask for any place more ideal. The facility is immaculate and homey and the staff is accomplished and so loving. We could not be happier.

My Mom lived at Calusa Harbor for over 3 years, The only reason she left was to move closer to her family. Calusa was a wonderful place for her and even though she is in a nice place now, she says "it isn't Calusa". I can't say enough about the responsiveness and caring of the people who work there. Mom could just call the desk or walk by the desk and someone always greeted her warmly and helped her. This was true of everyone there. The dining room staff, security, bus drivers, and custodians all could not have been more helpful to her. Their quality care helped her through many crisis'. My siblings and I always felt that Calusa kept her safe and happy. We are truly grateful."
