It was difficult leaving our home of 46 years in Illinois. It was time to move in and we found our new home at Layton Terrace on Layon Ave. The last 4 years have brought us joy, comfort, and many new friends. We appreciate the caring personnel and they are especially attentive to make us happy in our new home. They provide many services to fulfill our needs.

I checked out 8 different places before I decided that BROOKDALE was the perfect fit for [name removed]. It is just the right size, not too Big to get lost in and not too small, just the feeling of being part of a family. She loves the food and there are always activities to go to, if you want to. She loves having her own little apartment to go to when she wants some quiet and alone time. Never has she missed a meal, because she has made so many new friends and she has to be sure everyone is doing OK. Because everything is being taken care of for her, she has no more anxiety or depression. The apartment is cleaned, laundry done, wonderful meals and activities to do if she wants to. I have never seen her so relaxed and just enjoying life. I’m so lucky to have found Brooksdale so that we all have piece of mind.

I needed respite care for my mother because I was having surgery. Brought Mom to see the place before making a decision and she loved the friendliness of both the staff and the residents. I spoke with the director and the clinical supervisor and was very impressed and comfortable. Mom moved in a week before my surgery so I could visit her daily and be sure this was going to be “okay”. She started joining yoga daily and bingo in the afternoons and made friends. When I told her after my surgery we would have to add 2 more weeks to her stay because of complications she said she wanted to be a full time resident! That was almost 4 months ago and she’s still enjoying her life there.

Everyone here is so caring and knowledgeable about communicating with those who have memory loss. I would recommend Mill Creek to anyone who has a loved one with Alzheimer's or dementia.

Was able to tour earlier than planned. Facility is beautiful and the room size more conducive to what we were seeking. The offering of a whirlpool walk in tub may be key for us.

I have had two relatives live at Mulberry Gardens. The staff works hard in a fast paced environment to give great care. The Activities department keeps the Residents moving with daily exercise and fun activities all day long, both inside and outside the facility. From Resident Assistants to housekeepers to managers, the staff work very hard to make the facility not just a facility, but a home.

Nice apartment units. Located near hospital. Not all units have nice views. Courtyard views are higher. Food by known chef. Assisted living through home health care. Not in facility.

My mother has been a resident at Howard Village for the past several years. It's a relief for our family that Mom doesn't have to leave the Village due to an increase in the level of services that she needs. She can be in familiar surroundings and be among familiar faces. She still has a fairly high level of independence, and the nursing services along with cleaning assistance ensure her comfort, and peace of mind for our family. Our thanks to all at the Village from the receptionists, the maintenance/cleaning staff, the kitchen staff and the nursing staff for all that you do so that Mom is looked after and is comfortable.

My husband and I moved here just about 3 years ago. My husband past away 16 months ago. I still live in the independent section. I have not had any complaints. Everyone of the staff and residents are very friendly.

Unfortunately my mother passed away before she was able to move in. Everyone we met with there was wonderful. They were also very sweet when they found out about our mother's passing and even sent us a floral arrangement. Very caring environment. I wish we would have gotten to experience mom living there.

A very nice facility. The staff seems to genuinely care about the residents and they make every effort to help the residents feel like this is their home. The residents were engaged in activities and the staff interacted frequently with them.

Our family member has lived here for more than a year and everything is right about Magnolia Springs. The caring staff, the administrative staff, the dining staff, the exercise opportunities, the safety present, the outings and social experiences offered, the beauty of the building, cleanliness,the FOOD. I hope I covered everything and everyone - because it is the Right choice for us!

The Village at Valley Creek turned out to be the best community for husband’s increased need for care due to dementia. I am glad I did the research through A Place for Mom, attended the support group meetings prior to placement and got to know the staff and other family members within the community. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, accessible and quick to answer any questions or deal with any situation in a prompt and professional manner. They definitely know what they are doing and make everyone feel at ease. It was a huge relief to make the decision and get everything completed for a smooth placement and transition. I am grateful and thankful that in the midst of a very sad situation, I know he is safe and well- cared for with compassion and dignity.

I love this place! After having been sorely disappointed (and even perhaps deceived) at two previous facilities, I believe I have finally found a place for my wife in which I can have complete confidence. I am not going to detail the failings of the other facilities here and now, but my wife's health and welfare were jeopardized there. I don't think they really cared about her at all just as long as they got paid on time. Their goal was to do no more than what was absolutely necessary. Cedar Ridge is different--my wife isn't just someone they have to take of--she is someone they WANT to take care of. DO consider ways to contact me for details--I have an obligation to warn others of the places they should avoid.

Ashwood Place has been such a blessing to our family. Everyone working there goes above and beyond to make everyday special for the residents. We are especially thankful to know that mom is eating well, resting well and is in a safe environment.

Level of care wasn’t high enough, but loved it

Very nice place, really glad they had immediate availability and took advantage of that. Staff and residents engaging, clean, bright, open feeling throughout the entire complex. Like the hometown feeling. Apt is perfectly located for my mom. Very happy she is moving in.

I love Magnolia Springs. The staff is caring and helpful. You’re not just a resident there. You’re family. The staff is also attentive to the family. They always take time to tell you how your loved one is doing and answer questions. They get everyone involved so that they aren’t just sitting in their rooms and stare at the walls. I would recommend them with no hesitation.

Awesome. They have great staff that really take an interest in their clients. [Name removed] is wonderful and always has a smile on her face. [Name removed] is a great Director and goes the extra mile to do the right thing for her clients.

I love Forest Grove!
