The salesman here was wonderful and very friendly. It is an older building and you had to pay extra to have a power chair which is what I have to use to get around. I did not like that the assisted living and independent living was all in the same building. It also would have been hard for me to get in and out of the laundry facility. Overall with my mobility issues, this was not going to be a good fit.

Good location. Clean and well maintained. Still under consideration.

Nice facility and the Executive Directive was very upfront and knowledgeable. When we got down to the price it is our of my mothers price range when you begin adding the extras for each level of care. I can not really rate the property because I did not tour after I saw it was out of budget.

My parents have had trouble adjusting. They complain about the food often. Not sure how much this is normal.

Their staff seemed very friendly, only spoke with 1 resident and she was pleased with service, but rooms were very small for prices and services.

We were initially so pleased with Garden Estates. From the front desk to the dining hall staff to the custodians, everyone was very welcoming. At the time that my mother signed the facility contracts, we were told that we needed to use aides from the Garden Estates List because they had all been thoroughly vetted and approved for the care of residents. Her weekly aid was phenomenal! We were so pleased with her care. However, after a couple of falls, we needed Sunday and night time care for her. We used a caregiver and her staff from the 'vetted' list. The aides were poorly trained. When Mom fail and broke her arm, she was pulled off the ground, put in her recliner, and left alone. I was not informed of the incident and found out by reading their care journal. I brought this matter to the attention of the director. Obviously, she did not take it seriously. I had to return several times to remove Mom's belongings. The same aide and her staff are still working there. I just hope that another resident is not injured by their lack of competence.

Mom is here at this community and it is OK definitely some improvements need to happen. It is nice and clean and looks like a resort. Mom has an UTI and it just took to long to get it addressed. When she calls for help it takes them a while to get to her. They are a little understaffed and I wish they would engage her more to join the daily activities. Also if they could make sure she is eating. The housekeeping does the best they can to keep it clean and the laundry to the correct room. I would recommend this community.

My loved one stayed at Antebellum Grove, and when their old management was there, we were very happy with the care he was receiving. However, with the new management, I didn't feel that the care was as good. They didn't seem to make their rounds properly or to check on the residents as much as they used to. They just don't seem to have the same caring attitude as they used to. We have since moved my loved one so he can get the care he needs.

I did not tour here, but I did speak on the phone with a gentleman. He was helpful, and when I said I was looking for a two bedroom apartment, he advised that they only had one bedroom apartments available, but that he would be willing to cut a hole in the wall to join two of the rooms together. While I did appreciate his willingness to accommodate, I decided to go with another community.

This is a loving caring community to be a part of.

Loved [Removed] who manages the assisted living side. Facility looks older. The courtyards were not shaded and seating was minimal and uncomfortable. Too far out from where Mom currently lives.

I toured this community and I didn't feel good about it at all and was really to far out of the way. They dropped the ball a little it felt like they were new to the program on how things work in communities.

They take good care of me and feed me.

My mother has recently made the move into this community and in the beginning it was a really rocky transition. The staff where not prepared for her move at all and where not organized in her plan of care. It really made things difficult on our family for the first two weeks. I will say that things have improved since all of that has happened and changes have been made. I do hope that they can get some more staff employed to help with the resident ratio. There is just not enough people working there and to accommodate everyone's needs. They do have a great happy hour there that my mom really enjoys from time to time. I will lastly say they do have a few really strong people that work there who always go above and beyond for the residents.

The people were so friendly here, the facility was older and needed upgrading. I didn't have any problems with my tour of this community. Everyone was nice to my family, and The staff I met was friendly, and helpful. My questions were answered, and the experience went well. It was not the one for my mother, but my tour was nice. The rooms were good size. They had a nice enclosed dog run. Just felt like they need renovations. There activity rooms were small.

Poor food-often cold. Middle school type food offerings. Too much starches, not enough fruit or veggies. Activities are ok, not much variety. They do outside trips which is good. Not the best place for your loved one, not the worse. Really for residents that don't require much care. Mostly reminders and meds. If your loved one requires any real care, keep looking. They do the very bare minimum. Don't believe what the brochure says. Not enough staff. Waits for help can be very long. Sometimes the hallways smell.

This place doesn't accept Medicaid (only Private Pay). May be a good option for Respite.
