Too much staff turnover. Lack of communication among the supervisors. Food is adequate. Outdoor seating area is exceptional. Maintenance needs should be responded to more quickly. Staff is very caring of the residents. High turnover in management in the last six months.

After extensive research & visits to several other places in early 2017, I moved my 87 yr. old Mom & 89 yr. old dementia-diagnosed Dad to Brentwood. I was so happy. The prior director ([name removed]) & her staff were absolutely stupendous. A year+ later, after mgmt’s unexplained removal of Brentwood’s astoundingly fantastic hands on director, Brentwood is now limping along with new mgmt. & constantly changing support personnel. The dining experience is so very important to our elderly & yet, regrettably, it is surprisingly disappointing. Although new chef is so much better than the prior chef, I gather Brentwood’s food budget has been reduced cuz meals are repetitive, boring, & non-inventive. Some servers (with the exception of [names removed] & a couple others) are not enthusiastic about our precious elderly residents, some of whom are mentally compromised. Thankfully, the aforementioned servers are super attentive to our residents, lovingly relating to them by name! Compared to visits to 1/2 dozen other facilities 2 years ago, I thought Brentwood was the perfect place. But after 1-½ years, I’m now very disheartened. I wish Brentwood offered more interesting activities (run by actual staff rather than no one showing up) & made more of an effort to encourage residents to participate in them. I’m sad to say I’m seriously thinking about looking at other assisted living options... & I certainly don’t want to. At 88 years old, Mom doesn’t want to move but how can I allow her to stay?!

Facility had dirty rugs and the rooms seemed a little dark and unwelcoming. Residents seemed withdrawn. Dining room was elegant. Location is great.

Memory care unit too isolated and on the 5th floor. Bars on some windows no pleasant views from room.

My uncle is living here and there has been issues. One of the staff, [Removed], has an attitude and that job does not fit her at all. We filled out paperwork for automatic payments but they are taking it from the wrong account. We filled out everything and corporate has to change it. He does not eat chicken or turkey and they serve a lot of that. I talked to them to see if they can accommodate him. The laundry service has taken a week to return the clean items. I thought they were accommodating to the residents.[Removed], the sales manager, is dynamite and you could not ask for a better person, I really like her.

I toured this community for my mother, and her needs. My tour went well overall, but I did not feel this was the right fit for my mother. The community looked very, and fancy. The staff was friendly. I did find other community that suited our needs better.

Very nice and had a lot of good amenities, but I think too large of a facility for my dad. I think he would be overwhelmed.

What was sold to us in the beginning and what has been delivered are two different things. But the experience is going well so far and working through some things. The community seems to be losing staff or not holding on to employees. The best thing about the community is the meals, they have a great chef.

Beautiful new property. Lots of spacious areas for activites. Room too small for my parent's needs. On two floors and need to go between buildings which would present issues. A little on the high side $$.

My mom did not have a pleasant welcoming to this community. In a short period of time she fell. The staff are great and they do what they can. It did take them a while to be able to clean my mom's room after the fall.

I am happy to see my father in happy with this community. the staff is nice and caring to his needs. the community is always very clean and maintained. The food is excellent and a good variety of meals. He likes talking with the other residents. They do offer nice activities. We would recommend this community to other families for great care and value.

I thought the staff was very friendly and did a great job at giving my parents and I a detailed tour of there community. I noticed throughout our visit that everything was a little outdated and all of the furniture seemed to be old. They could use some new amenities and upgrades in the bedrooms. Overall it was a nice visit, just not the right place for my parents.

During my tour, I didn't really care for this community. The building looked like a motel, and I was not crazy about the care. The staff was friendly and so were the other residents but it just was not what we were looking for at the moment.

The staff that gave my loved one and I our tour was very kind and gave us a warm welcome upon arrival. The studios where spacious but needed some updating throughout the bedroom. I also felt that the lobby and dinning room could use some renovations.

The snacks that my loved one has been receiving have not been very healthy. The meals could use better variety and better taste for them. I have no problem with the cleanliness through out the community everything seems organized and taken care of. Overall, I feel it's a safe place for my loved one and there is great staff.

The community at Grand Villa of Deland was nicely kept and well maintained from the exterior. The staff meant well and were friendly during our meeting. It was a difficult time for our family and we needed additional support. The community was not the right fit for us at the time.

It was kind of a mixed bag. It's new and beautiful. There were some good connections, and there were some snags. It was hard to get a response, and to get things done. They are still new, and they need some time to work on some of the snags.

When my mother first moved to Grand Villa, she was vibrant and independent, needed help with only a few things. Her health has declined to such a point, that she is now wheelchair bound; and, needs help with all activities of daily life. Grand VIlla accommodated her by moving her from the most-independent building, to one providing more assistance; and, eventually memory care (which is a lock-down facility). The people that were there a year ago, Scott, Barnie, and Debbie have been replaced by staff more focused on the bottom line than the residents. Coffee and treats are not available unless doled out; that's just one small sign. We have been overbilled $200 per-month for the past 5 months; and, cannot find anyone to fix it, even though the Executive Director told us the new price. A few of the Home Health Aids and Facilities folk make an extra-effort to care for my mom; and, she loves them deeply. I value very much their efforts; and, look forward to the days when they are scheduled to work.

I toured this location when I was looking into care options for a loved one. Overall I just was not too impressed with this one. It had a very nice clean looking entrance area, but once you got into the community itself there was a noticeable odor. Other issues like ease of access and parking for visitors were concerns as well.

They do a decent job overall at Grand Villa of Altamonte Springs, but there are definitely a few ways I think they could improve the service. It's a nice looking place, and the staff are all very friendly. However, one area they could stand to improve is to make their information more clear during the move-in process. I was given the impression that the community move-in fee would be applied towards the first months rent, but that ended up not being the case. There is also a big long message you have to listen to every time you call them, which has become somewhat of an annoyance.
