My loved one was a resident here. When we toured we noticed that the atmosphere was beautiful and everyone seemed friendly. Our experience, however, didn't reflect that. So many things I could add. Basically, he wasn't being taken care of. His basic hygiene needs weren't even being met. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone with a loved one who needs assistance or support of any kind. Maybe for full Independent Living.

My loved one had a horrible experience here. She went outside and was left out there and got heatstroke and had to go to the hospital. I asked staff how long she was out there so we can determine what happened so it would never happen again and I never got any information from them. Then she got covid and we were told we needed to hire a nurse so that she would not come out of her room. It is a very glamorous-looking facility, but there is an underlying problem - maybe corporates. You cannot really get answers when things go wrong. We were were not happy so we moved her out of this facility.

Our tour experience with Grand Villa was horrible. We visited on a weekend, which was when we had time go as we work during the week. They didn't have a qualified person to talk to us or show us around, and their rating system of how they decide what they will charge was so incomprehensible that we left having no idea what it would cost. We just didn't have a good feeling and it may have been different if they had a qualified person there, but they did not.

Overall they lure you in and once you get in they do not do what was advertised that they are supposed to do. Overpromised and highly undelivered on our expectations of what is being paid for. This includes the daily care and maintenance for him including with daily showers, clean clothes and anything along those lines. Has been an issue for a while and are trying to work with them to get corrected.

They really didn't provide the care that they said they would. Some of the activities included bingo, music entertainment, shopping, and more for the residents to choose from. My loved thought the food was okay.

Our visit at Grand Villa of Ormond Beach went well. It looked nice, was absolutely beautiful, and seemed like a good place. I was ready to move Mom in, but they rejected her. It's not so much the fact that they rejected her - it was how they went about it. They knew I was in immediate need to move her, yet they wouldn't return multiple phone calls. We had to go in person to get an answer, which I did not appreciate. I think it was handled at the corporate level, but I was not happy at all with how they handled it. I felt like they gave us the runaround in a time of dire need.

I suppose they are doing the best they can but it wasn't good enough. He was there 2 months and in that time they called EMT's to transport to ER 4 times and they lost 2 pair or prescription glasses! He is home now. A terrible experience.

I just did not get the right feeling at this community. The tour was not the best. It was a small community and lock down for memory care. I just did not get that connection that I was looking for.

Its a nice facility but if your loved one develops an issue and goes to the hospital you might have a hard time getting them to take them back. This continues as you continue to pay rent. A hassel and not worth it

Make sure it is the correct place for your loved one. They will tell you anything to get your money to get you in the door. My loved one ended up with some additional health issues and they used a 1918 form to see if my loved one was a fit for the community. They knew that my loved one was a fall risk and still admitted my loved one. The community has a fall policy of three falls and they are out, supposedly. The community dodged the question when I asked them about their fall policy. Due to these additional health concerns we had to bring in hospice. All communication with Grand Villa was cut off when hospice was brought in. I feel the community lied about the form and being qualified to take care of my loved one. The communication with the staff was not good, they wouldn't answer me about my questions or concerns. My loved one was not supported by the community with using the phone. I had to make several calls before the staff would answer my questions. The community had a list that my loved one needed during their stay that we did not give until the day of intake.

The facility has been sold twice since my mother has been here, the organization is not financially stable. Repairs are at a minimum. For example the people who have pets are not required to have vet records for their animals. They ended up having a flea infestation inside the facility and it went on for 4 months. Requests are sometimes ignored. The director said we could call whenever and he would call back quick if he cannot get to the call. I have called 4 times and he has called me back one time. The food here was supposedly chef driven but it is not, the quality of food is not what you would expect it is mostly frozen and canned. I do not feel like the staff members here are trained very well and there has been constant turnover. I would move her if I could.

The management here was not good, the head guy would say one thing and do the total opposite. The maintenance guys and the front desk gal were wonderful. The meals here were not good, it was very bland and they did not have a lot of variety. Overall, I would not recommend this facility.

This community presents itself as a wonderful place to live. The building is old bit has been renovated and decorated very nicely. However, there is not enough staff to take care of our needs. The food is much too rich for people to digest. The bus they have is always in the repair shop for one reason or another.

I would not recommend anyone have a loved one here that needs any kind of healthcare. I suppose if a place for a room and meals is what you seek GVBB is ok. I had a brother there that needed health care and after we had paid and moved in they then told me if it is not with in 7 miles we won't help out . They could not would not help find health care for his condition. A number of times they said they would find him the proper heath care and the never did I really don't think they even tried . The director ( wonder if the same one is still there ) was uncooperative and at times down right nasty. The good that came of it after much time and money wasted I moved him to a different facility , with in the same area the found the care he need right away and he is doing much better . it just took a little effort and caring which Grand Villa was not about to provided

Not a good place, going downhill fast. Will be leaving within 2-3 months.

When I visited the facility I was disappointed. The place smelled of urine. Some of the residents that were waiting in the hall for a meal had soiled clothes and hair looked dirty. The employees were not friendly. They had only one elevator to go upstairs. They had a physical therapy room that was a tiny little room. I would not put my loved one here.

Before Gretchen in sales sells you a bill of goods, make sure you check the licenses of the nursing care there. The nurses are great but unfortunately they are limited on the care they can provide.Wound care is not allowed to be attended to by the nurses there. The aides are the problem.I also don't like to complain, but waiting for aides to take care of your Mother during times when help is needed promptly they prefer to be on their cell phones .Its clean, maintenance is great and dining is very good as well,but if you expect exceptional care on a daily basis, even just routine checking in on her, good luck. Also watch out for billing.The first month there, they accidently took $10,000 out of my Moms account. They are understaffed and it shows.

We toured this community when searching for a place for my mom. We were not impressed by them. They didn't offer many activities at all. There seemed to be a very sparse staff, although they were friendly. The food we tried during the tour didn't WOW us either. We decided on another community in the area.

It has been very difficult but it's not all their fault either. My mother had to be put in the hospital . We had a rough start. She's not liking it but she hasn't been there that long. It's just been hard because she's been in and out of the hospital.
