The community was nice, older, the staff was very helpful. they have what we are looking for, I just don't think it is for us.

The dining room was nice, airy and open. My loved one looked forward to the hot lunches, and the cocktail hours. It was hard to get information from the head nurse even after agreements were in place. Make sure you know how to get on to the list to get medical information, and to get on the list to see your loved one. No one told us about these lists until it was too late. This should have been done during the intake of our loved one.

Make sure you have an advocate for your loved one and make sure to stay on top of everything. Communication was good and they have communicated any time there are any issues. I would recommend this community to others.

I chose Grand Villa because they were recommended through Florida hospital. We looked into the facility for location and it had really good reviews on the food. I think that they are a little short staffed and they needed to be more hands on with dementia/memory care residents that are at fall risk. The staff were good with communication, they updated us every week through email and they were on top of it. They did make a lot of Facebook posts of my dad participating in activities, so I know they were keeping him busy. I will say that it was hard to make appointments to visit, so they could use some improvement with that. Overall, it was very clean and the room size was great. I think if your loved one does not need a lot of one on one care, it is a great choice.

Friendly and professional staff.

My loved one is happy with her caregivers; however she isn't happy with the management team on site. The community moved my loved one into another care unit. She is wanting to move due to other residents in the unit, due to these residents wondering at all times of the night. The residents bang on her door, and she has to keep the door locked.

they have their asisted living people mixed with independent on all 4 stories. Did not like the dark cabinets in the kitchen. The staff seems friendly and the grounds are lovely.

My mom didn't stay there long and it wasn't a good fit. My mom ended up needing more assistance than this community provided. Everything else that you wanted for care, was a la cart. If someone is more independent then this is a great community. In fact it is a beautiful community and it is somewhere I would live since I am more independent. I noticed people were walking around and were friendly.

We chose this community because it was closest to the family. There is no parking for the visitors at the facility because some of the residents can still drive, so they took up all the spots. They were understaffed and the staff was not very encouraging with activities. The food at the facility was good, they had balanced meals. They had assigned seating at meals so newer residents could not meet new friends, it was more like a clique. I would recommend this to a friend as long as their loved one more independent, but if you are someone who needs some assistance, then I would not recommend.

The staff and care are good, but they are sometimes understaffed. They do good with keeping up on the cleanliness of the community. The staff is very friendly. There seem to be adequate activities available as well.

When I put my mother here, they told me everything would be taken care of. Shortly thereafter, my mother fell in their care and they told me I would need to hire my own full time nurse to accompany her. She also had some personal belongings go missing. My mother did not like it here. It was a pretty clean community. The staff was ok, it depends on who you were talking to, some of the staff were good and some were not so good. I felt that some weren't doing their job in the way they should have been doing it, which I think you will find anywhere. It was a conveniently located and very clean. Some of the staff did try really hard.

Long waiting list.

Still up in the air about this place. They are not good at communicating and that very important to me. Also not aware when the resident falls unless they see it or see results such as blood on clothing. Another stressor.

Loved [name removed]...loved the two levels of memory...older community but very clean...just concerned with the overall layout...not crazy about the walkway from the apartments to the dinning area...the flow just seems broken up and could be confusing for my mother in law

Older buildings, doing updating & renovations on facility.

Too much staff turnover. Lack of communication among the supervisors. Food is adequate. Outdoor seating area is exceptional. Maintenance needs should be responded to more quickly. Staff is very caring of the residents. High turnover in management in the last six months.

After extensive research & visits to several other places in early 2017, I moved my 87 yr. old Mom & 89 yr. old dementia-diagnosed Dad to Brentwood. I was so happy. The prior director ([name removed]) & her staff were absolutely stupendous. A year+ later, after mgmt’s unexplained removal of Brentwood’s astoundingly fantastic hands on director, Brentwood is now limping along with new mgmt. & constantly changing support personnel. The dining experience is so very important to our elderly & yet, regrettably, it is surprisingly disappointing. Although new chef is so much better than the prior chef, I gather Brentwood’s food budget has been reduced cuz meals are repetitive, boring, & non-inventive. Some servers (with the exception of [names removed] & a couple others) are not enthusiastic about our precious elderly residents, some of whom are mentally compromised. Thankfully, the aforementioned servers are super attentive to our residents, lovingly relating to them by name! Compared to visits to 1/2 dozen other facilities 2 years ago, I thought Brentwood was the perfect place. But after 1-½ years, I’m now very disheartened. I wish Brentwood offered more interesting activities (run by actual staff rather than no one showing up) & made more of an effort to encourage residents to participate in them. I’m sad to say I’m seriously thinking about looking at other assisted living options... & I certainly don’t want to. At 88 years old, Mom doesn’t want to move but how can I allow her to stay?!

Facility had dirty rugs and the rooms seemed a little dark and unwelcoming. Residents seemed withdrawn. Dining room was elegant. Location is great.

Memory care unit too isolated and on the 5th floor. Bars on some windows no pleasant views from room.

My uncle is living here and there has been issues. One of the staff, [Removed], has an attitude and that job does not fit her at all. We filled out paperwork for automatic payments but they are taking it from the wrong account. We filled out everything and corporate has to change it. He does not eat chicken or turkey and they serve a lot of that. I talked to them to see if they can accommodate him. The laundry service has taken a week to return the clean items. I thought they were accommodating to the residents.[Removed], the sales manager, is dynamite and you could not ask for a better person, I really like her.
