Lincolnwood Place is very nice, in terms of the quality of their facilities and what they provide for their residents. However, our experience with them was not a good one. Our loved ones moved in, but unfortunately their health took a turn for the worse and they started requiring some assistance. Eventually it got to the point where Lincolnwood said they were not appropriate for the community and asked them to leave immediately. The problem was that they refused to refund the second month that we had already paid for since we did not give them 60 days notice, which would have been impossible since my loved ones were kicked out without warning. They handled the whole situation very poorly and unprofessionally.

Their marketing was shaky, really full of pressure – if you don’t want this there are people who will take it. They wanted us to sign right away. That kind of marking is really disturbing and I should have been on the look out for it.

Grandma's not very happy with them and is looking to move after just a couple of months. When we went for a tour, they advertised an onsite barber shop it sounded like it was included in the price, and they charge 42$ for a haircut. They handle getting the medications, and when she requested a refill, they directed her to a place that charged more than double what she normally pays. In talking to some of the other residents, they were unhappy about that as well. They can go elsewhere but this is where they are encouraged to go. They have blinds, and my loved one likes curtains, she asked for help putting up a curtain rod and they said they can only help if they charge extra. She's not feeling the love, she feels like they are taking advantage. They also charge a move in fee, that is non-refundable. They have a movie theater, but it's not very impressive. The place is so big and there is so many residents there is almost a disconnect. We were hoping for a community aspect and feel, but I think it's too big for that. There are no events, going on, nothing scheduled. They don't take responsibility for the things they do they are all about excuses for why it's not something they control.

I didn't visit, but when I told my neighbor, she said no. Care was bad, and they kept elevating their prices. A studio was $4042 for assisted living. My friend took her mom out.

Beautiful facility and probably perfect for people looking for assisted living. Not pleased at all with the dementia care. From lack of help in transitioning mom and admitting her to putting out fires instead of anticipating them....I will be placing my mom in a different facility.

In 2018 the place was pretty good when it came to food and activities. A year later the food was aweful. The taste was not good, they ran out of things, so residents had no choice. People in the memory care floor were excluded from many of the activities because they did not have the staff to accompany them any more. The cleanliness of common areas is good, but rooms are not. Memory care patients have gotten out of the building on many occasions. Very high turn over rate of people on all levels, causing lots of communication issues. My grandmother's bed was often made to where she laid directly on the plastic barriers for bed wetting no sheets. Horrible conditions...feel bad for patients that dont have family around to advocate for them. I do not recommend this place...keep looking.

We visited a couple weeks ago. We are looking at Independent Living for our dad. The sales person was friendly but a little pushy. She seemed in a hurry and rushed. We left confused when she talked about a va benefit and insisted our dad would be approved despite having a sizable amount of assets. My brothers and I left after getting bad vibes about it.

It a shame that a facility of this size and location cannot be successful. But that's what happens when the parent company controls the finances. Brookdale Lisle has been steadily over years cutting services, food quality, maintenance and upkeep. The turnover of management and maintenance employee's has accelerated. The food they serve the residents is NOT the food they serve visitors and their corporate mgmt. Simply put its life sustaining but that's about it. Never a meal to look forward to, except when they have a buffet for an event where visitors and residents eat the same food. Simply a cover for poor food...The building is old and needs improvements vs. band aids to delay a complete repair. Simply ask the residents how often the elevators are broken. OR better yet how many month's or year's it been since they were inspected. Expect rent to go up 6.5% every year no matter what and currently a 1 bedroom, independent living, no services is $3600/mo. or more. The top floor is for assisted living and/or memory care and have their own dining room. But against policy are allowed into the main level dining area which creates overcrowding, poor service and 2 hour+ diner commitments, it's a shame. I know this to be true as I have a family living there for over 3 years. Were exploring other options, I cannot more highly recommend NOT choosing this facility. Heaven help you if you need to go to the skilled side/facility. A whole different story but worse.

I visited this facility several times. I agree with previous review this place needs a paint job and cleaned carpets-see review from 2017, they still have not freshened up anything. In the assisted area the rooms are small and almost no storage. After interview with nursing manager, we discovered cost for services will include extra fees if your family member uses a walker etc.-although they did not provide or maintain walker in the first place. The check list for services is extensive and will add up quickly for your person to live here. I felt the cost of services were outrageous to start with and would go through the roof as family member would need more help with everyday stuff like bathing and dressing Way too many staff members decided to introduce themselves-was unnecessary and not helpful. One visit there was a horrible "bathroom" smell in the hallway and trash on the floor.

The biggest drawback to this place is the dining services. Even though the food is good, the dining room staff is disorganized and very mismanaged. Sometimes you can sit for 20 frustrating minutes or more without the first person showing up with basic water or coffee. Lackadaisical bussers stand idly by in corners without taking any notice of dirty dishes or empty drinks that pile up. Once food orders are taken, we residents often wait for 1/2 hour or longer before anything arrives, and then the order is incorrect about a third of the time. Once the main course is over, it is often another 1/2 hour before the waiter returns to take a desert order. I think they take a hike out the back door for a smoke break. Oversight of the dining room staff is very poor. Getting someone's attention is practically futile. Brookdale must pay poorly which is reflected in the quality of some (not all) of the dining room staff. This seems like an easy thing to solve, but no-one in management ever does.

How on earth Liberty Heights in Colorado Springs could possibly have earned any kind of rating (at least in the past two years) above a "1" is beyond me. My parents will be paying close to $6,000 beginning in January and have leaks in their roof and plaster hanging from the ceiling that have not been fixed for over 6 months. They are not the only ones. The company can't keep housekeepers, and can't seem to put a decent meal on the table. Even the servers shake their heads at the [Removed] they have to put on a table in front of the residents. Fewer and fewer people will even go to the dining room. Requests for help getting things fixed get a nod and a "we'll get that taken care of right away" and nary a word is heard for months because the staff have to "clear it with headquarters." Nothing seems to get cleared with headquarters. What a shame that a place that started out as wonderful to live in, where the owners cared about what happens there, has come to this. I'm sure the "corporate" is happy to rake in the money they do each month and their bank accounts are bulging. I can guarantee they would never live in a place like this. No wonder so many people are looking for other places to live.

In the beginning, the agency sent out a wonderful caregiver. She was nice she kept her appointments and did what she was supposed to and things were going great. Then for whatever reason, they stopped sending that caregiver and things went very badly very quickly.The agency either would call us to say they had no one to come out and had to cancel the appointments or they had someone scheduled to come out and an hour before they were supposed to come they would call and cancel and say they had no one. This agency is not run professionally and I would never recommend them to anyone.

The community is going through a transition and it has been pretty rough. There has been a lot of turnover and the quality of care has declined. The food has also gone down as I believe they now have one chef for both kitchens. They have lost some of the staff so the responsiveness to resident needs has declined. They do still seem to be keeping the community clean, but some families have pulled out their loved ones and moved them as a result.

Horrible facility!!! Don't even waste your time looking. New management team is running it into the ground. I will be moving my loved one out within the next two weeks.

Knowing my father was going to need permenant placement my family checked around and put him in this place for a week while we went out of state. The guy who ran it named Charles was not upfront about things and didn't find out about things until we picked my father up from the week stay. He developed a bed sore on his bottom in just one week which with what I was told about the care shouldn't of happened,

I have recently learned that my father who is 96 years old has not had A/C for the last 2 weeks and attempts to fix it have failed at his apartment at Lincolnwood Place Senior Retirement Community. This is unacceptable and irresponsible for my Dad to have to endure. He has suffered from dehydration in the past and he should not be put at risk by their incompetence!!!

First impression was the smell. Could be cleaner. The room and in the bathrooms. Didn’t see any staff and my friend said call lights aren’t answered or take a very long time. The elevator wasn’t working and my friend said it’s been broken for a year. The room is very cold. They do not have their own thermostats. Rates keep going up and care down. Wish my friend would move.

In [Date Removed], I was told that my Mom, Rosalyn Brunkow, was going to have a great time there in Memory Care. The first week, she had peed through her clothes and her hair was greasy. I stayed for Supper, which was always disgusting, and her food was chopped up and asked why and they said that it was on her sheet. I went different times of the day. The Staff was always on their personal phones and when I questioned they would get mad and stay away. They would make the residents watch Madea? There were times when the Staff would be so hateful to Residents at Supper. It was awful! My Mom went to the Hospital and came back and I didn't even know. Not until the next day. I immediately sent them a message to inform them I'm removing my Mom. I sent them a message in the middle of [Date Removed] and we left on [Date Removed]. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT THEY BILLED ME UNTIL[Date removed] NO! I am so happy my Mom is at [Name removed]. Good Riddance Camelia Walk!! Always check on your residents

I don't think they were prepared for The severity of the situation even though they said they could. And I am thankful that I also kept her on hospice so there could be be an extra layer of helpers that knew our situation. We moved her after she was found on the floor of her room when the staff made rounds and called 911 to transport to the Emergency Room

Things are promised but lied to. No cooking in the rooms as promised. No food delivery as promised. Have to pay extra for room delivery of meals.
