I took a tour with a professional group a couple of years ago. Staff was kind and friendly then. Facility was beautiful with good amenities. Fast forward to today. Previous staff no longer there. I visited twice for business reasons and to inquire about services. Receptionist couldn't get me out the door fast enough. Says managers are always out of office or in a meeting. Gave me what I thought was an business card for an executive director, but it was the wrong card. I got a terse response to my email of inquiry. I cannot recommend this facility to families I service because of rude treatment.

Moved our 99 year old Mom (has dementia, a fall risk & on Hospice) into Memory Care [date removed]. Mgmt said they worked w/Hospice & the residents in mem. care are checked every 2 hrs. By March Mom had fallen 3 times, one of which she was taken to the ER & req'd stitches. As a result, we decided to put a camera in her room w/mgmt's approval. Discovered then the 2 hr check WAS NOT HAPPENING -- plus other residents were wandering in & out of her room at all hrs day & night w/no staff supervision. Mgmt's solution to the 2 hr check was to put Mom in a wheelchair & leave her in the Commons Area all day long. She fell a 4th time on [date removed] in the Commons Area & had to go the ER again. At this point Hospice recommended a bed alarm to use in her bed so when she gets out of bed, an alarm goes off letting staff know. Mgmt. would not allow it because they considered the bed alarm “a restraint” which IT ABSOLUTELY IS NOT! We then gave our 30 day notice & moved Mom to a safer facility!

It was really clean. We picked this community, because it was an assisted living facility, and it looked more like an upscale house. I would tell a friend, don't do it. The doctor for the facility never showed up. My loved one was getting increasingly ill, and they did not address her symptoms.

My mother in law recently passed after spending 5 years at this facility. They provided virtually zero care and are only concerned about monthly fees. All glitz and no care behind the scenes. STAY AWAY

After touring Allegro multiple times (former name of Addington Place) and subsequently attending some social events I signed up for the waiting list, including a $5,000 fully refundable deposit. After the name change to Addington Place my wife and I attended a couple more social / sales events with the same sales woman we had been working with. Ultimately we decided to move to another Senior Living community. When I contacted this representative asking for a refund she informed me that a new company had bought Addington Place and fired her along with the other sales reps I had met. When I called the new Director, [name removed] he told me he would get me the refund but it would take some time. After stringing me along with promises like "you should have it by the end of the week" he suddenly did a 180 and told me my deposit was non-refundable, despite the contract clearly stating it was refundable. You can't believe anything these people tell you.

This place really went downhill. The previous director and head nurse were much more experienced and qualified to run the facility after they left it just kept going downhill slowly but surely! Im guessing it’s not a very good company considering they can not keep good staff. In my opinion not many there are familiar with dementia including the nurses. The director tells you they can handle care that they can not. The staff is cold they don’t want to be there and you can tell.. they have a couple people left that still care but that’s about it. You pay a lot of money for an outdated building and poor care

I did not see any activites. My loved one had dementia, so they were not really eating the food. The value for the money was okay. My loved one sat for days, without any one attending to them. There is a new director, but the previous director was not on top of things. They need more staff in the memory care unit. I thought it would be a perfect fit for my loved one, but it turned out to be the wrong fit.

I was very unhappy with Woodbourne Place. I would tell others to make sure before you sign any paperwork that you know exactly what you are signing for and understand it. Due to our experience, I would not recommend this facility to others looking.

A dangerous and unsafe facility. My 96 year old mother was left sitting in a chair overnight. Aides do not carry pagers. Serious safety concerns. Sales pitch made empty promises Run do not walk away

I do not know about the retirement residents, but they are definitely not good at the assisted living aspect side of care. There is no care plan in place, he has fallen out of the bed several times. I am having trouble getting call backs from staff, they say they do but I am not getting the calls. They are very polite, nice and the facility looks fantastic but the response from staff is just not there like it should be and is being paid for.

My mom has lived there for a few years not and even though we have tried to work with them, they have consistently been unable to give her medicine on time (even when allotted an entire hour to do so) or to even refill her prescriptions accurately or on time. Every time I think things have settled and smooth out, something else happens where my mom is suffering because they can't hire or keep good staff. Beware of this place.

Based off our loved one's experience and my time there the only thing would have to say: I would tell them to look for another place. ....

June 2022 move out. Her wash cloths thrown away instead of washed and towels cut up again. Her wedding present silverware for 8 has all but disappeared. There were 2 types of fork for total of 16 she has 1 fork left, 1 spoon, 0 tea spoons and 3 soup spoons. Should have 8 of each. they do not care about your belongings and help themselves. Manager laughed and said it happens all the time, Her storage locker had the lock removed and her walker stole head nurse said they did inventory on un marked lockers during covid. Her name tag is still on the locker just like all the other lockers so it's theft and lies all around. Many videos of her being dropped, no response from management. And never once an apology. Too many issues. They only contacted my brother who was out of town and couldn't see what was going on. Apparently she had Dr appts we know nothing about. No one ever called. She had cameras and this still happened. They would also deny what was on the video actually happened...

This place is a joke. Do not be fooled by the smooth "salesman" who tells you all you want to hear when you visit. They are always short-staffed, with the exception of a few aides, most of them are incredibly rude, nasty and don't give.a damn about the job or the residents. My mom has rung for help multiple times, and has waited over an hour at one point. Manager doesn't return phone calls when concerns are brought to his attention and instead has a nurse take care of (or not take care of) Wish we had put my mom at the other facilities we looked at

It was nice at first. But my mom has dementia she started to wonder from room to room, took a few things. They did not know how to get her back to her room they just let her do what she wanted. She endingup having a uti which made her symptoms worse. So she was loud and aggressive but didn't hurt anyone. I asked them a few times if it was time to move her but the nurse said no they could work it out. They ended up kicking her out. Would not keep her till I could find a good place for her. She is im not so good a place know. And on top of it all they wrote a bad assessment on her know no one will take her. Keep a good eye on this place.

Don't believe the hype from the sales person and don't believe the fake 5 star reviews. The care my dad received here was horrible. They left him sitting in his room all day despite all the promises of activities. Most of the staff is uncaring and hostile. My dad lost a lot of weight & we had to go to the facility multiple times each day to suppliment feed and bathe him. He actually started to smell because they hadn't been bathing him. When you would bring up your concerns the staff was hostile. We became so concerned about the level of care we removed my dad from this facility.

My mother was a resident here for 8 years. She moved out in October. In December she was charged with two months rent, This was AFTER she was already gone from there. They replaced one months rent. They don't even acknowledge the other month. My phone calls have gone unanswered. Do not give them access to your loved ones bank account. They help themselves and then deny it. They stole from my mother. Not a very nice way to treat the elderly I'd say.

My grandmother had another resident repeatedly come into her room during the night. One night, she had fallen out of her chair and was on the floor, the man came in and sat in her chair and was kicking her and using her as an ottoman as she cried for him to get out. She is not in great shape physically so she was unable to get up and eventually crawled into the bathroom to escape him. We also only know if this incident because we had a camera set up in her room (which the staff was aware and allowed). My mother had to call the club in the middle of the night to get someone to go in. Please DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR LOVED ONES. In a memory care facility they should be prepared to deal with these types of incidents, they should protect their residents. The scary thing is for those who don’t have cameras. This is completely unacceptable. Whether you are my family or the family of the resident who wanders, they are not taking care of either and not keeping either of them safe.

My husband was a resident for over three years here. After it was bought out by Cedarhurst in December 2020 the care declined until it became unacceptable and I had to move him.. The administration shifted blame , denied problems and were unresponsive. Cleaning of the rooms and bathrooms was disgusting. Constant smell in the bathroom. due to toilets and floor not being cleaned sufficiently. Staffing was insufficient and the few good caregivers were overworked and unhappy with administration as well. Medications were not given on time, residents were ignored and left alone, often without ability to call for help, for hours at a time. Incontinence changing was not addressed properly.

My loved ones have not felt very welcome here. They have had problems with maintenance, they have been poor to respond and my loved ones are considering moving out and canceling the lease. They have had a horrible experience and have sent letters and reached out to Evergreen about the concerns and have been dissatisfied with the response.
