My relative is begging me to get her out. She went in because she was sold a bill of goods about the food and other benefits. What a joke. Now, I have to try to find her a place that treats her well. She wanted people to know that what you see is not what you get.

Hello, My 80 year old parents just moved into one of the Adante cottages in [Removed]. They had been on a waiting list since last fall 2016. A cottage became available in the spring, but my father at the time was hospitalized for almost 3 weeks & it was just too much for them to deal with. A little history. My parents are moving from the home they have been in for 45 years. It's the home me and my two younger siblings grew up in. They built this home with the help of my grandfather, a fellow handyman, my brother and I, & other contractors needed for such things as electric, dry walls, & foundation. A cottage, which is exactly what my parents were looking for, came available for June. When my parents initially met with staff to discuss moving, they were quoted a price for the cottage. When the cottage became available & they met to sign move in documents, the price suddenly increase substantially. They also tried to add additional charges for a second person which was usually just applied to the apartments (not the cottages). They "dropped” those charges after my father challenged them. They still did not honor the original price agreed on. At this point in the down-sizing process it’s too late to begin a new search for other accommodations. It appears to me that Adante knows this and is exploiting it for all its worth. Fast forward.... they move in. My mother is compiling a growing list of [Removed], awful service, and condition issues from the staff to the cottage which includes two days of cold water because hot water heater was not working. As of today, the condition and maintenance issues continue to mount and the service response continues to lag. This past week, my mother was left to mop up puddles of water left by the plumber. This is a $4600 a month place in which the management had over 4 weeks to prepare for new tenants. This review is extended as a courtesy warning to future tenants. We are discussing other options concerning our response to Adante itself which includes (but limited to) contacting American Senior Housing Association, the BBB, the ALFA, A Place For Mom, and Senior Advisor. ___Addendum__ About 3 to 4 weeks after this posting, the executive director, [removed], began to make contact with my parents concerning the issues described above. After that first contact, he diligently and swiftly began to address every complaint even to the point of implementing organizational changes to insure that these problems are avoided in the future. Mr. [removed] has gone out of his way to be accessible and his demeanor has been genuinely cordial and apologetic. We accept their explanation that the problems were unintentional results of the proverbial “perfect storm” and other than some yet-to-be delivered paper work that will codify some promises made during this period we all could not be more pleased and satisfied. I say that with all sincerity. As of right now, I can say without reservations that [removed] and Adante have aligned themselves with the stellar reputation we expected going into this thing and this transition is now much, much less taxing. My parents now appear to be settling in very well in their new home.

Other than two employees whom my father adored, I can find nothing good to say about this place. The food was no edible (believe me, when I couldn't cut my chicken with a knife, I knew we had an issue in the kitchen). After multiple complaints, no action was taken. I felt horrible because I lived too far away to help him out. But the bed bug infestation was the straw for us. Can't blame Lyndale for them coming into the community, but the manor in which they handled, or didn't handle, the issue was far below what I felt they should do. No direct notice to those around. No information about how hard they are to rid. My father was disgusted, displaced for a number of days, and finally we moved him out, still unsure if any of the bed bugs came with us. I was truly disappointed and angered at the management team for not realizing their primary job is to care for the residents and provide safety, healthy living areas and have their best interests in mind. Hats off to [Removed] , the only two employees my father cared about.

The food service here is terrible and the least of management worries is resident satisfaction. They advertise transportation to appointments for residents, but when asking for arrangements the administrator complains and tells families to provide transportation themselves. The memory care area has a massive bug problem. This property is sub par and not what they advertise.

Visited a relative there. Was disappointed in the help. Most were standing around desk in hall while patients were wandering hall. Clothes are missing. Names on clothes should help laundry send clothes to correct room. Sheets missing and never found. Glad I don't need that kind of care for my family. I would look elsewhere.

A Place for Mom went above and beyond to help us and I am sorry they are connected with Heartis. My mother in law was found in feces, partially dressed and finally fell while walking unaccompanied - she should not have been - and fractured her back and wound up in the hospital. The stories of how this happened were many and none were the same. We have moved her now to a more hands on, caring facility. Oh, all this happened short of two weeks. I believe the family is pursuing legal avenues.

Our family is very unhappy about this facility. Every visit there was an issue with safety, cleanliness, promptness, and responsible care for our family member. We do not recommend Walnut Creek to anyone looking to have a loved one looked after. We are moving our family member to a more professionally-run facility.

Management constantly changes their story every fifteen minutes, and husband and wife team can't keep their story straight. Dingy floor and leftover food on carpet in dining room, laundry rooms always tied up by housekeeping staff, Activity Director makes excuses all the time, has residents playing childish activities, and won't make the time for a bus ride other than to Walmart. Maintenance men come and go, cannot get any work done for doing work on empty apartments, which always seem to get new carpet. Elevator shuts down at the most inopportune times, making the trip downstairs in the hot (or cold) stairwells uncomfortable. My mother lived here for a year and a half, worst investment I've ever made. Came highly recommended, major disappointment.

We are very disappointed in this place :( We moved my Grandmother here in November 2015 so she could be closer to us (her Granddaughter) because my Dad, her son lives overseas. We started of with concerns due to the reviews but after speaking with the Manager about our concerns we wanted to give them a chance! BIG MISTAKE! Although some of there staff have been great to my Grandmother, which we are very thankful for, the administration is just awful. If you ask for something to get done...It wont happen or you have to keep calling to get it done. My absolute biggest issue was after my Grandmother had passed away. She had past away in her bed, I asked for her sheets on her bed to be stripped and washed so the smell wouldn't set in after her laying in them, deceased for over 8h. Since it was going to be another 2 weeks until we were able to get her room cleaned out. They assured us it would be done and after my Dad had asked them a few days later about it, it was once again assured that IT HAD BEEN done. After 2 weeks we came back to get everything moved, when we opened the door the stench just hit us, her sheets that she had passed away in were still on the bed, nothing had been done. It was absolutely disgusting. Also her door was unlocked after we were ensured that no one would step foot in her room unless they go to clean/wash her stuff, which obviously wasn't the case. After talking to the staff and even Manager, no one could tell us why or what was going on. We were told that we would get a partial refund on her last month rent but haven't received it yet. We are very disappointed how everything, especially after she passed away, was handled. Even thou there were some staff members there that we truly liked and appreciated we would not recommend that you put your loved ones in here.

This place is disgusting, the caregivers are rude and poorly trained, the executive director needs to be a grocery lot attendant at the nearest Super Market. My Father lived at here and was neglected the whole time he was a resident, always soiled, his apartment and laundry were never done, he barely even ate, he remained confined to his apartment dispite all the activities that were promised to us, something needs to be done to close this dump down the residents are nothing more than a dollar sign so glad dad is no longer there.

There are several good reviews here but they are older. My mother lived there for over 2 years. The care in the beginning was not the greatest. Laundry not done, linens not changed in the beginning. From early 2015 to now care went really downhill. Major cutbacks. Caregivers moved to the dining room to be servers during meals Not enough servers. Food quality very poor, residents waiting up to 45 minutes for meals when the mealtimes were only for 1 hour. Residents banging on glasses to get attention from servers that were really caregivers or care managers that were now called universal employees by the director, Sharon. Not their fault, management was trying to save money. They tried their best but management was into cost cutting. The dining room running out of items. The last straw was when the battery in my mother's door alarm went dead and no one changed it. If we were aware we would have changed it. She would wander and they needed to know when she left her room. She was found in the parking lot at 4 am by the person delivering newspapers bloodied and injured. Her last bed check had been 1 am so no one knew how long she was outside in the dark. When an email I sent to the director, the office of the CEO and the assistant director about issues there went unanswered except for Phyllis, the assistant director, sending me an email that things were better since my last visit and none of my concerns were addressed, we made arrangements for my mother to be moved. DO NOT Place your family member in this facility. Beautiful facility, bad management, too many cutbacks, employees trying their best but spread too thin. Find another well run facility.

Residents are beyond the level of care and when they tell families like mine that they need extra care thru an agency, they use theirs not giving families a choice.. they are a poor example and badly represent Brookdale..They also do not refund moneys, when they know they are keeping parents beyond the level of care they can provide...but will put agency in place to care for them and it is their agency...Brookdale Home Health...

After caring for my mother at home with COPD for 9 years my sister and I decided that she needed more care than we could give her. We toured the facility which was nice as well as the people. Unfortunately it wasn't until after we made our decision and our mother was moved in that we saw the facility for what it was. Care Partners was a title given to anyone who interacted with residents. Their role or job depended on the staffing needs for the day. There was only an actual RN hired and working for them 1 month out of the 3 she was there. Needless to say my mother passed away 3 months after moving into the facility [removed]. [removed] After her passing in communication with the parent company we were told that they were not responsible for her oxygen care and therefore bore no responsibility for the lack of staff being trained in assisting residents with monitoring, switching devices etc. This was at no time communicated to us prior to her move in and her doctors order for admission clearly stated COPD as her primary diagnosis and care need. Please do yourself a favor. Don't let looks deceive you. Even their write up on this website starts with how beautiful it is rather than all the amenities or types of care they can handle.

Definitely would not place a loved one here. Understaffed and staff turnover high. Food has gone downhill, but price has gone up. Cleaning is almost non-existent. Good place if your person is very independent, but if they actually require assistance, forget it. Lack of communication with the family. Extremely disappointed and looking at other facilities now.

Unfortunately, especially for my mother, our experience was the opposite of what we were told it would be. We were lead to believe that the Walnut Creek, Mansfield, facility would be able to meet my mother's needs. That did not happen. After 17 days, we had to put my mother through another move. I would suggest the administrative staff be better trained to give full disclosure of what the care givers are able to do.

Let me start off by saying that the facility is a beautiful facility but what's behind those beautiful walls are a bunch of lies!!! How can a executive director care about the residents when she doesn't care about her staff and their well being. She's rude not friendly doesn't engage with the residents on any level and has a horrible attitude with vendors doctors and any medical personnel. The maintenance guy Al is a weasel!!! It seems like he does all the Ed's dirty work!!! He's constantly telling things on the residents care staff instead he should be focused on his job by the way what is that" why is he still there? I noticed a lot of good people have been fired since this woman Rhonda has taken over!!! I wouldn't recommend anyone putting their love one there!!! They will tell you anything to get you to put your family member there!! It's all about Money!!!!! I feel sorry for the residents and staff care assistants who are already there!!!!!!
