Person set up to give tour not available and no contact made that she wouldn't be there. Person giving tour was very nice but not knowable on layouts. Place seem sad. Nurses nor other members smile or seemed to enjoy their job.first impressions last.

I had a horrible experience here, I would never recommend them to anyone. I have had nothing but trouble. We moved out more than six months ago, and they still can't give me an answer about the billing, so it can be closed out. I don't think they were very attentive, my loved one ended up in the hospital within a week. There were issues with medications. Really nothing went right at all. I was very frustrated and disappointed with the experience.

The director assured us that all of the specific needs of my mother could and would be met, however we did not find that to be true. One instance was they would assist her with a shower. She did not get a shower until about the 6th day that she was there. The home health care company nurse that came every morning to help her noticed this and sent an assistant from the home health company to help her until Walnut Creek helped. I was unhappy with things one care partner and the nurse said about my mother and the nurses over-reaction to one situation. In one instance the nurse said she couldn't help and a family member was responsible and needed to come stay with her. So I came and stayed the night and everything was fine.

This company is by far the most out of touch company in Dementia care. The staff are unskilled, not trained and management shows no investment in staff. I have my wife in this community and they rotate the staff from neighborhood to neighborhood. No consistency and no knowledge. The turn over rate is high and the management team at the corporate level are scrupulous. They are deceitful and treat the Executive Directors like puppets to do their dirty work. The older lady who visits the community from the corporate office is mean and uneducated about dementia. She threatens family members and talks bad about the staff and the managers. Very unprofessional. We were told that she was regional and supervises the ED's in all communities. Don't believe the positive reviews. The corporate office post them. Whatever you do, don't move into this community. They take your money then kick you out saying you are too high level of care. It's very pretty but not worth the aggravation.

We heard all kinds of great things about The Brennity at Melbourne. My mothers sister was there for a while and it was really great. However, after we moved our mom in there, there was an organizational change. All the contacts that were there before had turned over. We did not have good experience with their care for my mom at all. We are currently looking to move her elsewhere. They made promised that they have not delivered on. They are charging us the highest level of care for my mother and they are not taking care of her at all. They are charging us for items that they didn't provide. [removed] I am very upset with the care and service we and mom have received and would not recommend them.

My daughter walked in to tour and they were greeted by a gentleman, stated that this what I need and spend, he stated he didn't want to waste our time to tour the facility and there was residents asking for help and no one coming, food all over residents couldn't get out of there fast enough.

We weren't here very long, and I would not put her here long term. There are security issues. People can come and go anytime, especially through the back door. There is nobody at the back desk after 8:00 officially, but there isn't anyone there after 7:00 from what I have seen. People also come and go in and out of the resident's rooms, which is unnerving. They have a new director and they need to work on a lot of things. I was disappointed I couldn't get anyone to talk with me to address the issues, and concerns. It was not a good experience. They mixed up rooms for services like showers. The nurse that was overseeing everything was excellent, but she had a lot on her plate, and they couldn't keep things straight. The people were nice but they were very unorganized.

As stated by others, I have concerns about the director. A very uncaring person. She is only worried a obout getting her job completed M-F during the day and cannot be bothered other times no matter how serious the situation. She supports her nurse who does not seem very bright. The other staff members are generally kind, but there seems to be a significant turnover. The facility is nice, but that doesn't make up for poor management.

I have tried to call about my papa and not sure of the rules at night because i live in garland..so i asked the lady melissa do they have nurses to check on him because she told me..could not answer any questions...when i called back to get more info because of my job and times i can call..melissa was rude and hung up on me.this is not my first experience with rudness..make you wonder how they treat the people staying there..unbelievable. and scary

My experience with The Clairmont was not a good one. The people there are really nice, and the residents can have pets there. My mom is terminally ill. We paid over $2,000 so my mom could get into an apartment. She only lasted three days there, and due to her health condition, she had to move to a skilled nursing facility. Even in my mom's condition, they required a 30 day notice, which was impossible to give. The hospice doctor even wrote them a letter that stated my mom needed to leave there to go to a skilled nursing facility. It made no difference to them whatsoever. They were cold hearted, and we felt it was all about the money to them. Not being able to give a 30 day notice before move out means more money owed. I don't have control of my mom's health, so there was no way for me to be able to give them a 30 day notice. My mom was bed ridden, and when I went to visit, all her meals were in styrofoam containers, stacked up, untouched, therefore she did not eat. Not a good experience for us at all.

Mom's been at Brennity Daphne one year. If food was consistently good, I'd give five stars. It was ok at first but has gone downhill over the year. Cooks change, quality deteriorates, menu doesn't match what is actually presented. Seniors like their food...sure wish more of the budget was allotted to meals instead of promotion.

Staff and managers are not always helpful to residents.

We were referred to this facility by the Hospice company that had been helping with my father. He was suppose to spend 7 days of respite care here. By day 4-5 we were appalled by the lack of care, compassion, and professionalism this facility lacked. My father had been administered an unknown amount of meds; to the point he was incoherent, head hanging down and drooling!! They placed him in a geriatric chair in the hallway so that the employees could see him from their work station and not have to get up and go to his room. He was a 90 year old WWII Navy Veteran, that took pride in his country and family; left on display for all to see, no dignity what so ever! How can any person with a conscious work in a facility and claim they care for these people. My remarks in regards to this facility will not stop at this site! BBB, Commission on Aging, State of Texas, and what ever government facility I need to write to, will hear from my family!

This place is independent living and I need help 24/7 for my mom. Had trouble getting this info from them!

Not a good fit. Memory care facility full and the Assisted living at her level would be more expensive than a certified facility.

Some of the staff was not very friendly and did not have a very good attitude. We were not happy with the care services that they offered and the attitude of which they performed these services.

I didn't like this place. Seemed more transient than a permananet living facility. However mother in law lives there and loves it.

I would tell them not to go here. The community is liars. They don't speak the truth. The community told me one thing and then another thing happened. My loved one is a wonderer, and the community stated the community was secure. They allowed me to speak to the nurse on staff to give me reassurance on my concerns, and that it would be fine for my loved one. My loved one was able to leave the community on three different occasions. The police had to be called three different times to find my loved one.

Unfortunately this place has gone down a lot in the last year or so. My relative has been there and the management, communication and overall care has greatly declined. We are looking for another place. I'm posting this in hopes of helping other families with the difficult task of finding the right home for their loved one.

Brennity might not suit you! Cottage can be nice, but my experience has not. The cottage was not painted as promised and the selling agent for Brennity lied about it. So my house has nail holes, wall that are damaged and the house next to mine is a ghetto. Selling agent avoided talking about it! Horrible condition and management knows and does nothing about it as it continues to deteriorate. I have fallen twice...once in a hole in my back yard. Turned my ankle fusion, and then in the main building when the director's dog knocked my over. Still suffering from those bruises. Other neighbors were given a free golf cart. Again, the selling agent lied and said my golfer husband had refused the free cart...what golfer with a golf membership refuses a cart????? Then there is the dinning room, avoid it. One employee was so rude to my husband and me, that we never went back. Lots of complaints, and management will not act! Then there is book keeping.... you get the idea. Find a safer, easier place to live. I regret being here and want to get my money back.
