We chose The Waterford At Miracle Hills because during our tour we talked a lot to the staff members and liked them. It also seemed very clean and it seemed like it would be a good fit. The room sizes here are pretty large and spacious, they are in a two bedroom but even the one bedrooms were larger than some of the ones we saw. The food is something they think they could improve on, they have had a lot of turnover with the head chefs. The best part about the community so far has been the care and overall attitude of the staff members.

We really liked how nice this community is, and it looked to be very kept up. The people who worked there are very friendly. the rooms are decent size, and we would recommend this community to a family or friend.

I would tell my friends that this is a good place if you need one. The friendly staff stands out to me. The room was a private one room with a walk in shower, and a kitchenette. The food was average, due to it being plain.

I think it is affordable care. The staff is extremely nice. They give individualized care and have individualized care plans for the residents The room sizes and the layout of the community are really good. The food is good. They have outdoor space for the residents to use.

Before the pandemic, it was an overall very positive experience, however, because independent and assited living are in the same building, the independent living is also in complete lockdown. The staff are great. The food is pretty good with a good variety. I think mentally this has been really tough on my parents being in complete isolation. I would recommmend this community to other families if there wasn't a panademic.

It is a nice place and I would recommend this community to other families. The caregivers are very good and they do all the right things at the right time for the residents. We chose this community because we liked it when when we toured and location was convenient for us. The building and grounds are well maintained.

It is a good place. It is really hard with the Covid-19 . The food is healthy. The room sizes are great, bigger than most. It is an older building but they keep it up. They have a few courtyards for the residents to use as outdoor space. The people are just wonderful. I would recommend them to others.

This community is idyllic, just 2-3 stories wrapped around a peaceful oak park with occasional deer that visit. Being away from the highways, the air is fresh and clean. And it is quiet. When we were looking for a place, another fairly fancy facility told me that “their seniors can’t hear the highway anyway”. But they still have to breathe the air. My independent living family member is happy here because the beautiful setting. But the lockdown has been difficult and lonely for many. Thanks to the staff for so carefully guarding our loved ones as we learn how to navigate in our new world.

Lakeshore Estates is a great place for my dad because they offer cottages apart from the main building. That makes him feel a little bit more independent. Many staff are great. [name removed] is excellent and caring as is [name removed]. Thank you, [name removed]?, for phoning with updates to the situation. I really appreciate it. My only complaint about Lakeshore Estates is the way they serve meals. Some meals I’ve had with my dad have taken two hours. If one is late, you miss out on the course they served before and it is not that the servers wouldn’t like to get you caught up but the system of serving gives them no time to do so. This meal system makes some appointments outside the building difficult. I would say that the food they serve is good when I have attended. I really appreciate the work during the current pandemic. Feeding residents in their apartments and limiting outside visitors. Thank you for caring about the residents health.

The staff seem to genuinely care for and know each resident and their needs pretty well. It is amazing to me how the managers and staff keep the residents and their families all straight. The chef has done a tremendous job in consistently providing safe nourishing meals and making special requests when possible. The only reason for not having 5 stars is I do think the place could use a little facelift and offer a few new activities once the virus has passed. Suggestions would be small gardening projects ( like repotting plants), small dog visitors ( dog therapy), and inviting volunteers to play instruments in the lobby before or after meals.

Great place, but response to small but needed maintenance to apartment extremely slow. Multiple requests often required. Executive director responsive, but should be last resort to get simple requests done.

A very “homey” place to live, with a beautiful forested yard. The plan allows interior walking in rain or summer heat. The assistants all have the best attitude and take great care of the residents. An oasis in in a large growing city, it is a friendly place away from the hubbub, for comfortable elder living.

I have lived at Prairie Rose for 2 years and 8 months. I love my apartment and the people who live here. This year has been difficult, but we have muddled through with our combined strength. I would certainly recommend Prairie Rose Independent Living to anyone.
