[removed]. The Care Givers are certainly a very caring group. It is unfortunate that the management staff doesn't show enough appreciation for the work they do. They surely are the most under appreciated group at the facility. Often times they are left working shot handed due to staff shortages or someone calling off. The Care Giver turnover indicates a lack of support for group. The kitchen staff does a very good job and prepares some very good meals. NOW, to the management staff. Some of their directions to the "worker bees" are, at times, show a lack of undestanding what needs to be done. The nursing staff have offices which keeps them from seeing what is happening on the floor. One can learn more by observing than by sitting behind a desk. The Executive Director shows a lack of compassion in dealing with family members. There is never enough time to communicate with families. She has given notice to three families to send their loved ones to another facility. Whether or not this was a directive from corporate headquarters, the fact is that she carried out those directions. If she wants to espouse her nursing and Christian values now, how is it that she ignored them for so long?

Please, please do not consider moving your loved one here until you are certain there has been a complete overhaul of leadership. Leadership has shown time after time that they are not suffciently knowledgable in terms of how to intervene appropriately with symptoms of disease progression, nor are they sensitive to the tremendous grief families are experiencing. It was a nightmare. In another facility now, and blown away by how much stress has been lifted from my loved one and our family- because we are surrounded by competence.

I don't think they have done so good. My loved one is not there anymore, she was there less than two weeks. They left her alone, and they knew she was a fall risk. The deposit is supposed to be refundable if you aren't happy, within the first 60 days. They gave us a hard time about that, and tried to convince us that we weren't unhappy. It's a beautiful place, and they convinced us that they were good with difficult cases, which we were a difficult case. They have all kinds of good programs, and it's a nice place, but I think it was a bad match. I don't think the evaluation process was done very well. I think depending on the care needs of your loved one it might be a great place, but our experience was not good.

Run for your life from Silverado... My mother was drugged and mentally evaluated by Dr Stanley [removed] in a probate matter knowing my mother was drugged by his own writing of Exelon Patch prescription. This company will call the police and report that you have a gun if you oppose their operating practices. The residents are chemically drugged to create Dementia Related symptoms and held against their will at Sugar land and Kingwood. Check out Rip off report website and you will see for yourself and read other stories

Our Mom has had a terrible transition, we have minimal trust in-their care. We have found bruises on her, she is a fall risk yet left wandering alone and just had a fall requiring an ER visit, they just had a bad GI bug, many were sick, She has taken a complete 180 turn for the worse. Belongings are constantly lost. They have not aggressively tried to medically manage her symptoms appropriately. Her meds are very hit and miss. No improvement except when sedated, then too sleepy to eat. Do not place your loved one here. We have yet to see her involved in an activity.

Arden Courts should not promise families things they cannot provide - they were unable to care for our loved one after they said they could. They were not providing our loved one with nutritional foods and left our loved one dehydrated.
I would not send anyone to this community. This community was horrendous, it was gloomy and we did not see anyone interacting with each other. Felt very institutional like for the amount of money that would be spent here you could for sure be somewhere else. They did not know I was coming when I came, the tour guide also did not know much.
We did a lot of research and did our homework before deciding on a place. Arden Courts seemed lovely. They talked a good story. I feel like the sales person was very good at her job and sold us a bill of goods. They just didn't do what they said they'd do. The doctor on staff was there weekly instead of daily as they had promised. There were half as many nurses on staff per shift than they had promised. They said they would bathe my loved one more than once a week, and they didn't. Her hair looked disheveled, and she was wearing mismatched old clothes, despite the brand new nice things I had brought for her that were never unpacked. I could go on and on. I put my loved one in the facility, she got her shots and was in quarantine, and shortly after that she came down with Covid and passed away a few days later. They had told me no one in the facility had Covid when she moved in. I would call daily to see how she was doing, and they would tell me she was fine. But when I was finally allowed to come in, I saw she had gone all morning without her hearing aid in or glasses on. I couldn't believe they would leave her like that all morning, completely unable to hear and see. It's been a horrible experience, and I'm very upset. We brought a little refrigerator and bottled water for her so she wouldn't have to leave her room to get a drink, and it never got plugged in. We set up cable, and it was never plugged in during the two weeks she was there. If she hadn't died of Covid, I feel she would have died from a broken heart and lack of dignity. And we couldn't even hold her hand and be there with her. If I could do it again, I would have found a way to continue paying for full-time nurses. The day she was admitted to the hospital for Covid, she had explosive diarrhea in her easy chair. Days later when we went to pick it up, it still had feces all over it. I would give them negative scores if I could.
We just moved my father due to lack of care. When we could see my father his clothes, shoes and face were always dirty. I have pictures and I sent 1 to the director and he never responded. My father would have blood under his fingernails. Before covid I witnessed several things such as a resident had his pants on backwards so they kept falling to the ground. This went on for quite a while. The staff laughed at him. I went upfront and reported it. On another occasion I witnessed a resident that kept asking for help. They ignored her and then finally just went and put her in her room. Frontier assured us that they were going to operate with more activities. The only thing I witnessed on the supportive side was poor [name removed] (very caring employee) talking to and reading the paper with residents. Very few of the staff is still there. I lost all trust due to lack of communication! My delay in moving was covid but I just couldn't leave my Dad there any longer!

While this website is "a Place for Mom", Springhouse of Pikesville is not that place if you love your mom and want her well cared for. Minimal staff which is underpaid. Procedures not followed. Medications missed. Some nursing staff will not provide proper care if the don't "like" your loved one. Mandated training's' not held. Poor/missing record keeping. Totally focused on keeping bed$ filled so the dollar$ keep coming. If your loved one needs real care, they will tell you to hire someone to be with them. Isn't that what this is supposed to be? The aids do the best they can given their lack of training and low pay. Some really do care. But when the leadership from the top is bad, it all rolls downhill.

I would tell them it is a bad place to go. You won't get your money's worth. I feel they killed my friend due to her being sick, and she should have been put in the hospital. I personally had to get her out of there by calling 911, due to her being sick and having a temperature. All staff was ignoring her. The place was really dirty, and smelled, food had been in her room for three days and it was never taken out. She was too sick to eat it. There is no consideration of the care for patients, and the care is poor. My friend was blind and she never got additional assistance that she needed. We picked her because they told us that she would get the assistance she needed. There is a lot of lip services and there was never any follow through. I was told they would take her for her meals in the dining room, and that never happened. We were promised this several times.

Rude and uncompassionate staff. This community has gone downhill over the last year. A true shame for the residents and families who are there. It used to be Silverado and a lovely community. Now, it is no place I would recommend for anyone living with Alzheimer's. My advice is to look elsewhere for good care for a loved one.

Wish I could give zero start but that is not an option. We visited Arden Courts of Susquehanna as a possible place for our mother. We were given a tour of one of the resident’s living area. The place was nice and clean but none of the residents interacted with us. They seemed like they were over medicated. We then sat down with a representative to ask questions and find out more about the place. One of the first questions we were asked by her was when we were going to medicate my mother. That is when it clicked for me. All the residents were medicated to keep them calm. I had a very bad feeling when we left the place. I then started to ask around to friends and colleagues in health care and all I heard were negative reports of how the residents are over medicated. Several friends told me that they removed family members form Arden courts and placed them in other facilities. In the other facilities after medications were decreased or discontinued their loved ones began to interact and come to life again.

My loved on was in this specific community for several years. During the first three or four I was very happy. They weren’t without issues but issues were always addressed quickly and professionally. Then a new director, without specific dementia training or qualifications and unexplained gaps in employment, was brought in. Things quickly went down hill. She sits in the office all day,, doesn’t communicate or acknowledge family members and allows senior staff to run things without adequate oversight. The lead RN has no business being in a dementia care community; she lacks empathy and appropriate follow up skills. She can be very dismissive when you bring care issues or concerns to her. These behaviors run throughout the organization, as when concerns are escalated to Corp management or through Aren Courts Care Line they go unanswered. Time they clean house.

We hated Arden Courts of Towson on Bellona Ave. Within 30 days of move in, our loved one had lost 10% of her body weight, fallen several times and was admitted to the hospital. Upon arrival of the hospital she had a UTI and nurse said her urine looked like chocolate milk from dehydration and malnutrition. Arden Courts on Bellona Ave experienced a high turn over rate in staff, as well as understaffing openly admitted by the director. They also acknowledged that the staff was i need of training. I witnessed many examples of abuse in the facility as well, both, verbal and neglect. I highly encourage A Place for Mom consultants to visit the care facilities they are recommending.

We have family member here and it was great when it was Silverado, but since the management change it's terrible. Care is not the same!! Do not trust this facility with your loved one. They are not watched over and not fed nearly enough food. What food they have is not a good quality.

My mom moved in here because she kept falling and needed help. Our family was told they would be able to care for her needs. Yet, they did not pay attention to her. They are extremely understaffed in my opinion. There are a few good caregivers but most are just going through the motions and can barely speak English. They kept forgetting to give her medications and the doctor that works there (I think she is from another agency) does not follow up or return phone calls. It's a nice looking place and the common areas are clean. But beyond that, if care for your family member is what you want, go elsewhere. If my mom had survived the place, she would tell you herself.
