I like the facility, it's a nice facility. The way they have it set up is homey. They have lots of good activities. They are kind of struggling with a couple things - his room is cold and they don't seem to be able to fix that. The other is that he has Alzheimer's, and of course he has hygiene issues, and it doesn't always seem to be fixed like we had hoped it would have been. Other than that, we have no complaints, and everything is fine.

I have him in there I like it a lot, it's just that he has fallen a couple times at night out of bed, so I am working on that. It's well staffed, clean, and I do like it. He comes from having 24 hour care, so it is a little different over there. I did hire an aide to sit with him at nights on the weekends, which is kind of a waste of money, but the problem is that if he has to get up to go to the bathroom, he needs someone there. I am a nurse myself and I know how night shift on the weekends goes - it's tough. They have been very, very helpful and gone out of their way. They have done a lot, and I think that they are very good.

They are awesome. They have helped me out a great deal. My dad living a wonderful life now. He is not just alive, he is living. My dad loves anything that has to do with food, and they do a lot with food aside from just eating. He is involved in the preparation by doing things like peeling oranges. This is really helping him to stay calm and feel like he is doing something helpful. I am happy to write this because I think that this is a great place. When I am old, this is where I want to be. I've already told my children.

I thought they were very nice. They were nice and clean. They took us around and we saw everything. We really liked it too but the price, more than anything, that was an issue.

We're pretty happy with it; we have both of our parents there, one in personal care for memory care and one just in personal care. It seems to be a pretty good fit for both of them. I'm not there a lot because I'm living in Florida but I was up about 2 weeks ago and things seem to be good, my sister is there almost every week and I know she has no complaints. I don't know what things could totally be improved on because I'm not there all the time, at this point they've only been in there since mid-July so were pretty happy.

I toured Arden Courts, Northbrook, and found it to be a welcoming, friendly place and a homey environment. They try to tailor their services to meet client needs, such as cooking a favorite dish from home. The activities and social interactions also seem to be tailored to a level appropriate for the resident. The staff seemed very warm and responsive and took time with me, the residents and families. The cost sheet was confusing and I will find out more on my next visit, but it is private pay.

They're great, they really are. I like the fact that they have dogs for the residents to pet. They're very low key which makes it feel more home-like and they refer to it as their home, because it is. They treat the residents like that is their home. They've been extremely good to my mother. We've been pleasantly surprised. She's very happy there which makes us happy. She's not even asked to come hom which was surprising to my sister and I.

What really made the difference is the staff. They are just very friendly and helpful. They were very accommodating and overall just seemed trustworthy. Felt comfortable enough to entrust them with our loved ones.

This was a great community it just was not the right fit for us at this time. The staff is really friendly and they seem to have really good Alzheimer care. We liked the community it just wasn’t what we were looking for. We would recommend this community to anyone.

The main reason that we choose “Arden Courts” is because they are a full memory care community not mixed. The people here know what they are doing and are patient. We have only had one small issue and they worked quickly with use to resolve it.

We chose this community for the convenience of its location. It is located near our neighborhood so wasn’t a complete uprooting. The manager came by my house to talk to us he explained all the things they offered and answered any questions we had. They were available immediately so it really helped. My loved one is a little stubborn and gives the staff a fight so he keeps them busy. It is a very nice community with very nice landscaping. If we needed services like this again, we would use Arden Courts again.

Good tour

All in all is a very pleasant atmosphere. Weekends are slightly understaffed. Some tenants are cliques and judge and point fingers at others. All is good in food zone. Wish there was a little more one on one activity.

A thorough tour of the facility, their philosophy, the pricing, and availability of the rooms. We also toured the [community removed] and enjoyed its thoroughness.

The activities team is wonderful! Both women are always helpful and caring. My experience with some nursing staff has been less positive, as they have not always been helpful, and language barriers have made communication difficult. I would appreciate more responsive support and clearer communication from the nursing team.

Over all the facility was fine, not great, but no real problems with it either. My biggest problem is the way things were handled when my sister passed away. They called my cell in the middle of the night and I explained that I was out of town and would make arrangements as soon as I could. She called me back 30 minutes later asking when my sister's body would be picked up, give me some BS about state law only giving them so much time to transport the body. Given that it was 3:30am, and I needed to make arrangements to get home, I thought waiting until daybreak should have been a better time to call a funeral agent and make arrangements, but she was insisting it had to be done immediately. I told her she was disgusting and hung up on her, but I did contact the undertaker immediately because I was afraid of what they might do with her body. Because of that experience, I wouldn't recommend Arden Courts to anybody.

I am writing as the primary person responsible for my aunt’s care. While it is still early days for my aunt (2 months), I noticed that she has “acclimated” faster to Arden Court compared to the transition period in her last community. I attribute this to the Arden Court environment and full dedication to memory care residents. The staff are knowledgeable, professional, compassionate, and friendly. They make it a point to get to know each resident and even their family members. This is also emulated to in their provider community - many of whom initiated contact to see if my aunt required any services. The way Arden Court is designed and laid out, my aunt readily accepts it as her home, as opposed to a hospital or hotel which was how she regularly described her last community. She has greater freedom here as she is not restricted to a specific wing of a shared assisted living and memory care community.

The staff are friendly, approachable, and responsive. The food is balanced and has good portions. Mom's room is just enough. All the furniture was provided, and there is a "picture rail" about 18 inches from the ceiling to display personal items and photos.

I like the way the facility is smaller and divided into 4 separate quarters. Staff has been very good. Researching in my own, i liked the fact that, though very expensive, a lot of the money goes back into staff training

Everyone was very friendly and made me feel like my mom would be safe there! That was the best part. The director walked around with us with her dog and she stopped and talked to all the residents! Most of the employees have been there for a very long time. Again, their longevity speaks volumes.
