This community has really nice staff members. I am not happy with the care that has been given here. is The staff do not pay attention to the residents that are able to walk around. They have not given her the attention that is needed. The community needs more staff. It is clean and maintained. They have alot of activities. I would suggest families see for themselves if this is a community for a family member.

Arden Courts of Glen Ellyn is a very cute place. I really liked the layout of the community. The staff were friendly and addressed all of my concerns about respite care. This community would be best suited for higher levels of memory care. The community could do a better job with managing odors.

We just moved my mother out of Linden Village for several reasons. First of all, her clothing were disappearing, even though she had her name in all of her clothing. I would go to visit her and see other residents walking around wearing my mother's clothing. Often she had clothing in her own closet that clearly had other residents names on them. My mother had all her shoes and slippers disappear, the only pair she had left were the ones on her feet. The residents were left to wonder from room to room. I would find other residents laying in my mother's bed and after getting them up found they had peed in her bed. Just recently they took in a resident that clearly does not belong in that facility, he had violet outburst. I personally witnessed him choking another female resident! I find the nursing staff to be unfriendly and uncaring. I had requested a call from the medical director on several different occasions, but she never returns calls!! The only good thing i have to say, is that 99% of the aides are extremely nice, friendly and caring.

I am not very happy with Arden Court. Many of the staff are friendly and they try to keep residents involved in daily acttivities in the community center BUT if your relative is not in that state of mind they put them in bed and shut the door. This is also true after dinner when nothing is going on. My fahter's room has not been cleaned in weeks - it is disgusting particularly his bathroom. His laundry is thrown into a pile on a chiar - much of it isn't even his - like a woman's nightgown and a tiny sweater. Once they get you in and signed - with a move in fee of $2,500 - there is no interaction with the front office. My father is in hospice care now and there is annimoisty between the hospice staff and the facility staff and they do not follow his hospice protocol. Recently residents have been displaced while unnecessary remodeling has been done in the kitchen - new cabinets and flooring and wallpaper - what a waste. Then the rent went up to $6,000 a month. Not sure what is better out there. I am afraid to complain in case of retaliation by the staff to my father.

BEWARE !!!! Although this facility looks beautiful, be sure you look beyond the façade. Be sure you FULLY understand the commitment they are selling. From a care standpoint, you will appreciate the Care Givers. There is a never ending shortage of Care Givers from shift to shift. From a managerial and supervisory standpoint, be sure to look for the obvious selling points. The Executive Director is one who will tell you what you want to hear until your loved one "becomes a problem". A basic understanding of the disease is certainly lacking. I personally know of three families who were given a 30 day notice to find another place as their loved one's dementia grew stronger. As an excuse to rid themselves of a resident, they come up with something that, on the face of it, is laughable. [removed] If you want to place your loved one there and come visit once in awhile, this may be the place for you.. However, if you visit your loved one frequently, you will definitely see the shortcomings of this facility. Good luck finding a place for your loved one. There are many memory care facilities in the area. Please choose wisely.

The staff was nice. They were okay, but there wasn't a lot going on. They had a room with a piano, but there wasn't anything going on in there. There wasn't anyone he could really be communicative with, as the residents were pretty progressed. It felt very institutional, and was very expensive, the price didn't seem to match what they offered. The food was edible, but I did hear complaints, and for my loved one the food was not quite soft enough. It wasn't the right fit. We liked that they had a perimeter where they could walk around. Katie was very nice, the people there were nice, but this wasn't a good fit for us.

They promised a lot. In the first week we had nothing but problems with them regarding the care of my father. My father fell the first night he was there. They sent him to the hospital. My fathers medication was not being given to him correctly. He was overdosed on his blood pressure medicine. We had a meeting with the head nurse and everything was getting resolved and my dad got sick at the end.

The apartment was far away. For her to be motivated just to go to the dining room was a long walk. It was like living in an apartment complex and walking 1/8 mile to the dining room. It was kind of depressing, not bright. There were gaps between the doors of probably an inch, and in the closet I saw rust. Some corridors did not have a pleasant odor. By the pool, the sidewalk wasn't level. Little things, they don't seem like a big deal individually but all together it didn't look well maintained. It had a very small dining room, short dining hours, and I ate there and had heartburn the rest of the day! I asked how long most of the staff had worked there, and I never got a straight answer. I didn't see any staff and resident interaction, but you wouldn't based on the distance between everything.

We took my mother out of here. We did not like the situation in the dementia cottage where she was. My mother was sicker than we realized she was. We didn't think there were enough caregivers there. The first cottage was nice. I forget what the first cottage was that we had her in but there was 1 caregiver for 16 people and they were more independent and there was a floating nurse. We put her in the dementia cottage because she was really sick and we though she would get better with more attention. It's a beautiful facility but my mom was not getting focused attention. It didn't seem like it was being overseen really well like once when my sibilings went to visit there was a stranger in her bed and she was in another room. We ended up bringing her home and she's doing a lot better.

My Mother is a Hospice Resident at Arden Courts in Yardley. As a result of two devastating in one eight (8) hour period, my Mother was finally admitted to St. Mary's Hospital with a concussion, brain bleed, fractured wrist (which I complained about the bruising and she was refused treatment), fractured nose and bruised over most of her body. She was placed on a feeding tube and released back to Arden Courts with Hospice Care. She gained 3 lbs in a week and then lost 7 lbs in one month. While this may be normal, I was told by a care giver that my Mom was eating her dinner with her fingers.. The caregiver told me that "whatever works"! The food was macaroni salad. Her wash is disappearing and even with me doing her wash, I find other residents clothing in my Mother's room in her closet. I personally feel that the nursing staff does only what they absolutely need to do. This is my personal recent experience of this facility. Arden Court is owned by Manor Care in Ohio. Research the company and then Arden Courts who employed a caregiver who was arrested for abuse in I believe 2015. She was caught on a Nanny cam. The troubling question, why wasn't the staff noticing the abuse. Please read the article on the internet. My suggestion is a Nanny Cam in the room, I would post my pictures, but I do not know how,

I toured at Linden Village, and overall, I was not impressed with them. There didn't seem to be a very good caregiver to resident ratio here, and I didn't like that there was a smell about the community. Overall, I don't think it would have made the best fit for my loved one.

US Memory Care facility at Louetta Road. Houston, Texas is now about one year old. Compared to similar facilities in the area, USMC has significantly less to offer residents in the way of physical and mental activities that are so vital to the well being of the residents. Of primary concern, however, has been the totally inadequate (and sometimes non-existent) nursing staff. One question that should be asked by those looking for a home for their loved one is this: Will my loved one be told to leave the facility (as many residents have experienced) because USMC could no longer meet their needs? This action on the part of USMC reflects their inability to deal with the changing needs of dementia/Alzheimer's patients. It also underscores the lack of background/education of management to understand the progression of the disease. All of this leads USMC to demand that certain residents leave their care.

April 26, 2015. Remains to be seen and I don't really know how to rate them at the moment. Right now I'm torn about USMC Vintage. They fired the Executive Director then another employee and then the Sales Director. We followed the ED and the SD to USMC, so this is quite disheartening. The Sales Director was especially AWESOME! Dementia and Alzheimer's family members thrive on continuity. We know my mother is stressed because she is picking at her face, hands, and arms again, which she hasn't done in a long time. Leaves big sores that take forever to heal because she won't leave them alone. I heard that the new Executive Director told a resident's family member that if they don't like something they can move somewhere else. Move a dementia or Alzheimer's person somewhere else? This is hard enough and we've moved our mother once already, and that is not an easy option. Top level management needs to intervene and meet with family members MINUS the new ED and SD. We're paying their salaries, so we deserve some accountability and communication. We have questions that need to be answered and not by newly employed facility management.

They were not good, their staff could be a little more educated. They had her diaper on backwards. They are supposed to keep the laundry and I would find her with other peoples clothes. The food was not good here, it was frozen prepackaged and reheated, you could tell. They had her medications wrong, they would say one thing and do another. Just not a good experience.

Arden Court is very depressing. It is dark and the rooms are quite small. The closet is extremely small. The residents have extreme mental issues. The food is terrible. Bathing is no more than once a week. Some of the staff are very nice, but some are not so nice. The price is very expensive too. We gave them a 30 days notice to leave after only there two weeks. So, we lost the [amount removed] community fee. No person with any memory or ability to carry a conversation should be there.
