Priority Life Care

My dad was only there for 17 days before he passed away. The staff at Brentwood were very friendly and took care of dad and made him as comfortable as possible during his stay. The security on the memory care floor was awesome and safety wasn't an issue. The staff looked in on dad very often dad really liked the food.

Mama was here for about six weeks. She enjoyed it very much at first, but became bored later. The activities were heavily weighted toward church stuff, which my mother does not find stimulating. She spoke well of some of the word games that were occasionally played in the common rooms. I think she would have remained happy if the weather had allowed her to spend time outside. Mama's always been a nature girl. She doesn't like anyplace where she has to stay indoors. The staff were great. We'll probably try it again.

So far Atria Highland Crossings is meeting my elderly mother's needs most importantly reasonably priced. Older facility but comfortable.

The building and grounds are attractive and well maintained. The apartments are quiet and well kept. Cable television is included in the rent. The food is good and plentiful, but not very interesting and lacking in variety. It is a friendly place. Lots of very nice people live here. There is a wine and cheese evening, regular movie nights, and some gaming opportunities like bingo and cards, but not much in the way of good entertainment coming in from the outside. The on-site health services are minimal, but this is "independent living," not "assisted living." The idea is leisurely retirement living for people who are still relatively healthy. In sum, a good choice for those in Palm Coast, but the food and entertainment would need to be improved to truly get your money's worth.

I think it's a nice assisted living facility for someone a little younger. Offers a lot of privacy. They have a lot of activities and the privacy.

It was small, and I liked the person that showed us around. Since we viewed, I believe they have changed owners. The grounds were good, not nearly as upscale, but acceptable for our price range.

As far as the building is concerned and the areas here, living areas and so forth, that's alright. The biggest complaint, or concern that anyone you'll talk to her (a resident) will say is their food is not the best. There are times when they make an excellent meal, othertimes, its a long way from being excellent. I suppose you can take that with a grain of salt because there's a lot of people here, its like the army, there was always someone griping about the food. The activities seem to be okay, there's quite a bit of activity going and they're well planned. It's all women, older women, course that's natural with the way were living now, the women are always outnumbering the men so if the person thats thinking about moving in here is a woman I think she would have an easier time than the men, she would have a lot of companions and people to talk to.

We had to pay partial first month and when he was in the hospital we had to pay for the 2nd month although he was in the hospital and then rehab, they offered to take him back but he couldn't get up and would not fit the criteria although they said he did. He really didnt . so I had to pay for that month. If he was ok I think he would have loved the place. Everyone was extremely nice, I think I just ran onto the problem s because he got ill so quickly and we were all so frustrated. But everyone there was kind about everything and tried to accommodate. Ours was a special circumstance so maybe not the beat person to respond to this

Small amount of people that live there I think only 100 so if they get to know their people more.

They seem very disorganized and do not answer the phone. They had a change of the DON 3 weeks ago. We still do not have an online account that I know of. Activities and PT/OT are a 5. Very clean.

It does seem to be improving overall. The room is a nice size and is kept clean. It took our loved one a few months to fully settle in, but they do like the room and appreciate that it's quiet. It can be difficult at times to distinguish who is a staff member. Concerns that were brought to administration did not always receive follow-up or clear communication. That said, the wellness nurse has been especially helpful in coordinating care and has been a strong point of support. The memory care dining area feels very dark, and the food there does not appear as fresh as what is served in the main dining room. There have also been instances where medications were left behind rather than being fully supervised, which was reported but not addressed. It's also concerning that many residents in memory care spend much of the day sitting or sleeping in common areas. It would be nice to see more regular engagement or volunteers spending time with them. The residents we've met have been very kind and friendly. Overall, our loved one seems content. However, it's important to stay involved and regularly check that daily care needs - such as hygiene and personal routines - are being consistently met.

They dance around questions if I send an email with multiple questions they may answer one so now I send separate emails with only one question even then the question isn't always fully answered. If I call they usually aren't available and I ever get a call back. It's not horrible people are nice it doesn't smell but it is frustrating when you have to spend a lot of time trying to get answers that could be cleared up quickly. The PA is really good I like her.

It was nice and clean a little too expensive and the room was very small for the price. The people there were very nice and friendly. The ground were beautiful. And the residents looked very happy. Thank you for all your help

Overall, insufficient floor staff to memory care resident ratio. I have to advocate for my mom to get 2x=wk shower, Have staff put on Dr ordered compression socks each am, Not give her foods that are medically documented dietary restrictions, Provide 1 person assist with ALL transfers, Do brief checks at 2 hours, Peri care and toilet use. Dining Hall visibly dirty (food sticky on floor, chairs, table legs). Activity Lead does a good job, but facility needs to pay for live entertainment each week.

The sales pitch and the actual documents with the management are two separate things and not very clear. They raised the monthly fee on the person I found to reside there in four months instead of after six months, which was the agreement time. They are very dishonest in their dealings and I would not recommend this place to anybody

I still like it but the recent take over has created havoc with the onboarding process and back office operations.

The staff is nice but they have a staffing problem. Always someone new. Apartment is rather small. Needs updating carpets lights ect. Food is good. Medical care needs to be better.

Had a terrific discussion with the sales manager and then toured the facility. In the course of seeing several patient rooms I casually asked if the furnishings we were seeing were standard for a room. The guide surprisingly informed us that furniture was the patient's responsibility, as were all linens. Had I not asked this question that important information would not have been disclosed. Later I asked about other excluded items and was told a complete list would be provided when the contract was signed. We were expected to make a decision without key non-included components being disclosed. There was a complete lack of transparency and disclosure. Additionally we felt the large, central, chaotic community room was not a good fit for our prospective patient.

The laundry both clothes, towels and sheets have not been done since she arrived 1.5 weeks ago. All the staff has been pleasant and caring.

To be fair, they are in the middle of a complete remodel that will significantly enhance the overall experience. But it's causing issues. We had to push hard to get moved in on the date promised, despite giving them an extra 3 weeks, because the construction is taking their very limited maintenance staff away from day to day, routine issues. The cafeteria is getting remodeled and subsequently they let the drink machines run out, etc. Their staff seems overwhelmed and slow service in the cafe a problem. They sold us on the local/popular chef they employed. He retired right before they moved in they didn't tell us. Food is still good, but not what it was. The activities director is amazing! Lots to do and very unique fun. The apartment has new carpet, paint, etc. However that means new carpet smell that is strong and persistent. Mom and dad are overall very happy a d hopeful things settle down for the better in the next 4-6 weeks when the remodel is complete.
