Beautiful facility, very nice and helpful staff. Admissions coordinator is kind and willing to assist with our needs. Residents seemed happy and looked well cared for. Activities are abundant. This is the nicest facility I’ve explored.

My tour was very informative, my questions were answered. Facility appeared clean and maintained. Most residents appeared to be content and happy. I am in the early stages of collecting info. Have not decided if this facility is the right fit for our loved one. Thank you ..

Very nice facility and some of the kindest and caring individuals we’ve met in our quest for an assisted living facility. Reasonable rates, lots of activities for residents. Residents we encountered during our tour seemed very relaxed happy. This facility is on our short list as we get closer to making our decision.

This was my first experience with viewing an Independent Living Facility. I was impressed by the amount of activities available to residents. I was impressed with the size of the apartments. I had lunch which was delicious and met some of the staff.

My girls and I visited with [name removed] at Marion Woods. It is very nice and price is reasonable. They offer many services and activities. The staff and residents are all friendly and helpful.

If you have an elderly loved one that is living with you, you are not doing them any favors keeping them in your home. God forbid that something happens to them where they would need skilled nurses and professional medical personnel, you cannot provide it. Having my relative at this facility has given me a great peace of mind knowing that she is somewhere safe, comfortable, and there is a knowledgeable medical team there if it is needed. Another thing that is great is that they keep everyone constantly monitored in case something goes wrong. In the units, there is a button that they would have a push by a certain time, if they don’t push it then they will try to call you, if you don’t pick up they will then try to find you. Moreover, they are required to wear a “life alert” type button around your neck. For the most part the care team is going a good job. However, there are times where they seemed a bit short staffed. Occasionally they will take some time to get back to you. Another thing I would say that they could improve on is the wait staff in the kitchen. Sometimes there are inconsistencies, there are times where you will receive your food right away and others there will be slow service. However, the food there is great. It’s like basically like eating at a restaurant. They serve fish three times a week and I had their crab cakes one time while I was dining there. My mother is getting a more well-rounded diet there than she did before living at home. Here she is eating more things that you should eat and at this location you get two meals a day. They do a good job at keeping the facility clean. The housekeeper comes in once a week to organize the resident’s units and if you have clean linens they will make the bed for you. There are also many activities offered here. They show movies, they have outings, and transportation to take you shopping or doctor’s appointments. The other tenants that are there are friendly too. Picture it like a high school, there are bound to be clicks a long with maybe one or two people that you wouldn’t want to hang around with.

They don't have memory care at this Elmcroft (that program is called a "Heartland Community") for patients with Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia at other Elmcroft locations. In order to leave this feedback, I have to give them a rating. I done so without ever visiting or knowing their prices. The memory care was a showstopper for me.

The facility is ideally located. The staff is friendly and attentive. The activities are great and keep us engaged. The food menus need close attention. There are too many carbohydrates in the daily menu. I question the care giver to their concern by the dietitian. Top administration my wish to consider being more visible in the building.

Toured early in 2017, very much what we were looking for at the time but not the ideal location.

I am very happy here. The staff is very good & helpful. Everyone seems to get along well with others. Food is good. The apartment is kept well by house cleaner.

My parents have moved in to Vista Springs Riverside Gardens, and it has been a very good experience so far. The director has been great to talk to, and has been so helpful. The staff is nice enough, and my parents have been able to form some relationships with a few members. However, the turnover rate is pretty constant, so staff members are always coming and going. The food is good, and meals are complete and nutritious. However, my mother does wish meals were more like home cooked ones, but the cook has been willing to accept her suggestions on more than one occasion. The place is also quite clean and well-kept, but perhaps the best point are the activities available for the residents. About every other week it seems they take off-campus trips such as shopping, color tours, and Frederic Gardens. Overall, Vista Springs has been a positive experience, and I would recommend the community or others.

Good location for us. Attractive, well kept community. Good feedback from resident who spoke with us. Seems good value for the price, with all the services we expect Mom to need if and when we might need them. The residence rooms are attractive and nice size. Two downsides, which might not be deal killers, are the institutional layout of the main room and the meal schedule. Regarding layout, I do not care to see the plenary dining room as soon as you walk in the door. Regarding the meal schedule, everyone eats at the same time. Together these features give DeSoto more of an institutional air than I would prefer for my Mom.

My father is currently in rehab, but we did have a good experience with this community. They have a good, friendly staff. They do a good job with the cleanliness around the community. I was satisfied with everything they did for our family, this is a nice facility with friendly people.

I really liked this place and the differences in independent and assisted were very clear and helpful. I could see my parents ending up here and would be very nice, clean and the one story is awesome !

I FEEL THAT MY MOTHER IS GETTING GOOD CARE AND ATTENTION FROM THE STAFF AT BROOKDALE. SHE SEEMS TO BE DOING BETTER THAN SHE WAS AT HOME AND WE DO NOT WORRY ABOUT HER TRYING TO DO THINGS AT HER HOUSE THAT SHE CANNOT DO SAFELY. ALSO WE FEEL THAT SHE GETS BETTER MEALS THAN SHE WAS BEFORE. THE FACILITY SEEMS TO BE KEPT CLEAN AND PLEASANT . WE FEEL MUCH BETTER ABOUT HER SAFETY.
