Priority Life Care

We toured Elmcroft of York and it was a lovely facility. If I were looking for a place this would have been perfect for me because I like the fancy nicer furniture, but that it not what my loved one was looking for.

Seems like a nice place. The prices are steep because they have a nice view of the Alafia River. I personally don't think folks in memory care are all that worried about the view. Not a single resident was interested in the view while I was touring... The tour was moot for me, as there is a waiting list and I needed a place in less than two weeks.

Our family has able to do an in person tour and our experience was good. It was a very nice facility, but our loved one has dementia and we just thought the community was way to big.

Ideal location for our family. Admissions director was very kind and they are willing to negotiate things like move-in fees. They have "companion roooms" which will really help us with the cost. Their service rates are higher than others, however.

It's less expensive than the last place my loved one lived. He doesn't get as much personal service, so I think that's the difference in cost. But for his needs right now, it works out pretty well. The food seems to be pretty good. They actually have a chef on staff who cooks the food, so it's better prepared than with an outside food service. The staff are mostly good. It just depends on who you're interacting with. Like at any place, some personalities you mesh with better than others. But overall we're pretty happy so far.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones, it's not perfect. The community is clean, well lit, cheery, food is good, and most of the staff are good. There are a few people can lack empathy. I would like this to see improvement in the empathy department. It would be nice to have more of the doctor care, rather than a Nurse or Nurse practitioner.

It's a very friendly atmosphere. They definitely care about your family member. It's pretty clean. Sometimes high traffic areas like the rugs get a little dirty, but every now and then they clean it. It's not too bad, but I do notice. They have a little bit of a staffing problem, so sometimes they're not as responsive as I think they would like to be, or that I would like them to be. My family member says the food is okay, she just tends not to have a good appetite. From what I've seen, it looks okay, although not gourmet meals. Covid has restricted activities, but they're starting to open up more. They have lots of social games like bridge, dominos, bingo. They have all kinds of activities, some that are fitness-oriented, some that are mind-oriented. They have a comedy hour, and they have people come in to perform live music. I think they just started doing some social outings as well.

We chose The Venetian Gardens because I liked the feeling of it when we first walked in. It is very airy, clean, and open and that is what sold us. The apartment sizes are good, we got a 1 bedroom 1 bath but they do vary on size and you can choose based on what you need. The staff here are accommodating and I would recommend them.

We chose University Pines because of the safety, the cleanliness, and each room has its own kitchenette so it felt more like a home. The apartment sizes are adequate for what she needs. They could improve on the food serving, they have specific times residents are served, 8, 12, and 5 and they don't get to them at those times and are usually later. The staff here are very kind and respectful to the residents. I would recommend them.

The community was very clean and accommodating. They worked hard to get her in quickly and the staff was very friendly. Communication was good between the staff and our family and they keept us informed. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

It's hard to judge now during Covid what it was like before, but it's starting to get better now. My loved one hadn't really met anybody up until this point, but they're opening up the dining room, and socialization is getting better. She loves their breakfast. She gets to play bingo, which she loves. And they're starting to do more activities now. There's a beautiful outdoor space to go and sit. So far it's been a positive experience, although everyone everywhere has been going through a hard time with the pandemic. Atria has had a lot of changeover with the staff and were short-staffed for a while after some of the college girls left. My loved one's room is cleaned often, the trash is taken out, her bed clothes are cleaned and always neat and fresh, and the laundry is taken care of. They take very good care of my loved one. They give her her pills every day and check on her. She's had a couple of trips to the hospital with high blood pressure and dizziness. They called me each time to see fi I wanted to bring her in myself to be checked out or if they should they call the ambulance. They're very conscientious and don't let the residents just sit there. They check on them every day and make sure they're okay. With the virtual tour, they do their best to show you around, but the video tour just couldn't do it justice. It's a beautiful facility, and there's' some great things we saw after moving in that we didn't see on the virtual tour. They have an aquarium, beautiful antique furniture, and a bird up in the lobby. Some of the ladies have dogs that my loved one enjoys seeing. It's really a great place.

We appreciate the good work of the staff, their caring nature and taking care of our mom. A special shout-out to Alisha for her communication and taking care of my mom. I know she really appreciates the attention she receives from Alisha as well as everyone else. My sister and I live far away in Boston, and it's reassuring to know that our mom gets a lot of care, attention, and interaction with staff. Thanks to the staff for the great work they do. I think it is really hard work. The What's App calls are a great lifeline. I will say my mom isn't wild about the meals. I didn't review this as I don't have any personal knowledge, just what she tells us. And, there are times we don't get a response to questions we email.

We chose Brookdale Tavares because we needed to make a quick decision and they had availability at the time when we needed it, it is also a smaller facility which is what she liked. All in all the people are friendly and the cleanliness and the size of the rooms are what really pushed me here. I think they could use improvement on communication, she is in FL and I am in NC, so I wish they would communicate with me a little bit better about changes on medications. She has Alzheimer's so it is hard to get information from her. But overall I would recommend to others looking.

It’s hard to tell much from a virtual tour. My guess is the facility might be a little bit smaller than where we ended up. We had no problem with anybody we interacted with on the tour.

Our family was able to tour this facility in person, and it was a nice experience a nice place. It was clean and no fowl smells.

Enjoyed the tour and was impressed with [name removed] presentation. I liked the community amenities that i was able to see.

We chose Elmcroft of York at the time because they were the only ones who would really accept him in his condition. Overall it was short stay but we had a good experience. I would recommend them to others who are looking.

I am enjoying the community. The manager is good and trying hard to help us. The dining room is still limited due to the pandemic. The food is being brought to the resident's rooms and it isn't always delivered on time or the temperature. I feel I have enough space in my room. The closets are spacious. This is in the one bedroom.

Due to the covid restrictions we are not really able to get inside and see the community, but the staff members are very friendly and when it comes to the care services we do believe they are doing the best that they can. When we were able to visit the meals did seem to be okay, and they will call us to tell us our loved one is having fun with whatever they are doing that day. We do get pictures of our loved one coloring and watching movies.

The community is great. I would recommend this community to anybody. I would like to go here if I need senior living. overall the food is really good but there were 4 occasions that my friend did not receive her food.
