We've got our loved one who lives out of state here, and it makes us feel very secure knowing she is being looked after. It's a very nice, clean facility, and the staff are all friendly. They're great about feedback, they get in touch with you quickly regarding any issues or problems, and they've really gone out of their way to keep us informed and updated.

We're very happy with this community so far! It's a nice looking, clean place, great neighborhood, and the staff are very friendly. We were interested in somewhere with a good population of men so Dad would have someone to socialize with, and the ratio of men to women here is pretty balanced. Dad really likes the food, and it's nice that they let visitors eat in the dining room, at no cost and no need to call ahead.

It's been great, they have been so accommodating, Philip Lord and the whole staff are so great. This was the nicest by far of the ones we saw. Two of the things that helped me make my decision were, the others that I went to had everyone lined up in lobby like it was the receptionist's job to look after them and this one didn't have a smell. Dixie Laflair with A Place For Mom was an absolute doll, she helped me so much, she listened to me when I was crying. She was great! She was very knowledgeable. She was an intricate part of making this happen.

My mom is so happy there. I haven't had any extra charges, to me it's well worth it The people treat her wonderful and that's worth more than any amount of cash. The food is good, the people are helpful to her. It's just been a good experience for me, and my mom. She was tired the first couple of days she was there she was tired from walking back and forth to her room, so now she just stays down after breakfast and stays busy all day long. They took them riding around looking at Christmas lights and she just thought that was wonderful. Her room has never been dirty when I've gone in. They wear a necklace with a button around their neck in case they fall and one in the bathroom. The housekeeping could be a little better she had no towels in her bathroom this time when I visited they took the towels out and didn't replace them, and twice she has had no toilet paper. If I tell someone they will fix it. It was small only houses 70 or so residents and all on one floor and basically is a circle so if you walk the hallway it goes in a circle and you will end up back where you started.

Our loved ones stay here was brief, and we would have liked for it to be longer. It was conveniently located for my for our family. They did a very good job across the board. It was an attractive community, and the staff were friendly and caring.

I am happy with what I've got right now. Basically they just do escort service to and from the dining room and check on her to make sure that she is OK. I take care of her bathing, but that was my choice. The nurse is wonderful. Overall I am very happy with the place. They have Bingo, and "Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader." They also do beading, yoga, and dancing!

I ate there once it was fine. They are a little pricey and charge for each individual thing.

He doing well, as well as can be expected with his problems and so forth. He has a double room, like a nursing home. For what it is they are very nice and neat and clean. The people seem to be very nice and thoughtful and caring. Rehab is nice, and they have all kinds of rehab for them. Everyone there is a very high level of care, and they are able to handle all of them.

I'm very pleased with Emeritus, the place itself, the staff, the attention given to Arlene, etc. They have made good on their promise to get things fixed. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I have been doing very well here, it's been five month. The people are very nice, and it's very friendly atmosphere. I have my own apartment, and the building is very nice. The food is very good most of the time. They have activities all the time; they have shopping, they have a singing group, and different local choirs come in to perform. I am in independent living, but there are care services available to those that need them. Transportation is included.

This is independent living. They had lots of activities! I live in California, so I was only there for a week while my mom lived there. Sometimes if the regular chef is not there, dinners and lunches were not great, and I think that the meals are something that the residents really look forward to so they are extremely important. Other than that, nothing else to improve on! I loved University Pines because of the other residents. They took my mom in immediately. Everybody just welcomed her and showed her around and showed her how to get around on the van to go shopping. Real sense of community there. I can't say enough good things about it. My mom passed away in the beginning of October, and the residents reached out to me and my family, came to the funeral, and sent flowers even after knowing her for such a short time. The first time I walked into University Pines, I knew immediately that it was the right place for her.

This property really lives to its reputation as gracious living for retirees.

MY WIFE AND I CARE FOR MY 88 YEAR OLD MOTHER AT OUR HOME. SHE CAN GET AROUND WITH A WALKER AND MOSTLY CARES FOR HERSELF, BUT WE DO NOT LEAVE HER ALONE. WE FOUND IT DIFFICULT TO FIND SOME ONE WHO COULD CARE FOR HER IF WE WANTED A VACATION. WE HEARD ABOUT "A PLACE FOR MOM", CONTACTED THEM AND WERE REFERED TO BRENTWOOD AT HOBART. WHAT A WONDERFUL PLACE. WE TOURED AND WERE ABLE TO PLACE MY MOTHER FOR A TWO WEEK STAY. WE AND MY MOTHER ARE VERY HAPPY WITH THE CARING AND HELPFUL STAFF. THE ACCOMODATIONS ARE LIKE A RESORT. MOTHER IS LOOKING FORWARD TO OUR NEXT VACATION.

It is an independent living facility. They have activities, but it is up to the residents to participate. They have bingo and movies, and they do various forms of exercise. The food gets monotonous after awhile. That has been the feedback I have received from my mom.

It was a very nice place, very friendly and open. My dad actually passed before he made it there, but I would recommend it to someone else though, definitely.

My Husband and I just spent 3 days at this beautiful Residence. We met and spoke to several residents. 99% of them were very pleased and happy that they were there. The food was very good. The presentation was nice. The Chef came out at every meal to speak to the people eating. We were very pleased with our apt. it was clean and nice. Lots of things to do. Entertainment everyday. The Bus takes residents shopping to malls and doctor appts. Of course, some People do not want to get up at 8 o'clock for breakfast. every apt. has a regular size refridgerator, sink and their own Microwave for their own use. Needless to say after looking at several Residences, we were very pleased with Venetian Gardens We hope to be able to move into our apt. in the near future. The Operating Staff couldn't be nicer. Very informative .

After looking at several facilities, I selected Elmcroft of Reading. Elmcroft's on-site leadership is incredible, the staff are exceptionally friendly and competent, the resident care is amazing. There are plenty of activities, and the residents seem genuinely happy to be there. The nursing care is professional and completely in tune with residents' needs. The leadership team at Elmcroft is very involved with residents; they know their names, their preferences, their habits. At 92, my mother was dead set against an assisted living facility. She was spending a fortune on in-home care that didn't completely satisfy her ever-increasing needs. Within a few weeks of being at Elmcroft, Mom started calling it "home". She's more engaged in life and is thrilled that she can once again enjoy her favorite pastime of pitching horseshoes! All I can say is...WOW!

I highly recommend Las Palmas as an independent living "home." Everyone has been so wonderful, caring, committed and welcoming, it made the choice for Mom very easy. The food is delicious with ample portions at every meal including being able to choose from a variety of entrees. The staff goes above and beyond the call of duty to make sure everyone is well taken care of regardless of how simple or difficult the request or need may be. This was a great choice for us and we are grateful for the hospitality afforded our family during the transition for our mom who is a recent widow. They assisted with all our needs from budget, to decorating, painting, etc. They helped Mom to acclimated to a community style living and she is adjusting nicely. We are very pleased with everything Las Palmas has to offer. Thank you.

We visited this community on Tuesday, Oct. 8 and we waited for Rick McPhillips who was to be our guide thru the community. We spent some time in the main floor area while another associate looked for him...took about 15 minutes. We then spent time in the main dining and first floor commons areas which included a large dining room, meeting room, private dining room, craft/computer/kitchen area, and atrium. Smoking is allowed in the individual apts. and outside but not in the common areas. We were then shown a 1 BR apt. that was furnished and a two BR apt. unfurnished. They appear large and comfortable and include screened porches or balconies. There is a common laundry room (no coins needed) on each floor in each wing. There is no ALF but people can be treated by home health care providers via Medicare in their apts. EVERYONE seemed very friendly and we visited with MANY residents who all seemed to be on the payroll because they couldn't say enough good things about it. We ate a nice dinner, not as plentiful as at Benton Village but quite enough. The apts. come automatically with a 3 meal plan, no other options. The apts. have kitchenettes but there are several full kitchens available to use in the community. There is a selection at each meal. There is a chapel with services provided by resident choice. Transportation is provided free of charge M-F but not on weekends. There is a community club house next to the screened in and heated outdoor pool and gas grill. Paths circle the wooded community and it seems very private. There are 10 - 2 BR villas around the main apt. complex which are very large, face a common parking lot, and back up to the woods. There are 2 baths and one garage and a full kitchen but it is probably too big for my parents. Overall, we liked this better than Benton because of the friendliness of the residents. We disliked it because you must pay for three meals whether you like it or not. We will definitely return to this community with my parents.

She liked it but it's like anything else, if you're not doing it yourself, the cooking, the cleaning, etc. it's not the same. They just want to moan about something but she was happy and she was there for about 6 years.
