Don’t send anyone you love to Brookdale West Palm Beach. If I could enter 0 stars I would. Knowing that my mother’s primary need was to be fed good food, they pulled a bait and switch by serving us superb meals during our interview visit and frequently inedible food once my mother moved in (uncooked spaghetti, I chewable meat, spoiled fish are just a few). They screwed up my mother’s medications, hurt her in the shower, wanted me to return a brand new TV because the Executive Director refused to contact Comcast (there was nothing wrong with the TV, Brookdale’s maintenance staff hadn’t been trained to set up the latest version of smart TV). When I moved my mother in, I experienced and witnessed all of this and after I returned home got daily calls from her crying about her horrible treatment. After one month I had to fly back across the country to move my mother out because we were worried about her health and safety. My mother likened her stay there to being in prison.

The air conditioning did not work in the patient rooms while my loved one was staying there. An employee informed me that it wasn't a recent issue, (that it hasn't worked in the past year), although you could go into the director's office, and it was nice and cool. Remodeling was taking place with fumes from the glue being used so strong you could not breathe. Patients were forced into common areas and told to stay there all day. My loved one was found sitting in a wheelchair and soaked clear through her clothing. The rooms were not properly cleaned. When moving my loved one out of the facility, the dust, dead bugs, and general filth was horrible under the bed and behind the furniture. I will assume housekeeping never moved anything to vacuum. And lastly, my loved one was a very malnourished 83 pounds when I moved her out of that place. According to her the food was nasty and not edible.

Caregivers, for the most part were good. Facility for the most part was also good. Facility administrator has issues. I have been trying to get some financial information concerning my wife's passing at the facility and all of my request have been ignored. I was promised the requested information on [date removed], I did not receive. The administrator has not taken any of my follow up calls and has not replied to the several voicemails I have left. I even sent another email that has also been ignored. Very poor way to deal with a customer whose wife passed away after only 19 days at the facility.

I’m going to be frank. After 9 years of living here I am so ashamed of how far this facility has fallen from the top to the bottom. You have hired three people who worked together at Walgreens. A clique of unfit workers who are not doing their job. Please interview the residents. Do you have any idea how many people have left due to these issues!??

We pulled our father out of this facility because he was not getting proper care. Missed meals, missed meds, room not being cleaned etc. Beautiful facility that is horribly mismanaged. The staff is aware of the issues, and are really practiced at making excuses.

The last five or six months here have been pure hell. Las Palmas is in deep decline and NOTHING is being done about it. The Manager is useless, does not care about the residents, does not communicate with us, ignores us and refuses to do anything to address our concerns about the awful "food" that is slumped on our plates every day. She seems irritated every time one of us enters her office to voice our opinions or concerns. While we continuously complain to the Manager about the quality of the food and the horrific Chef, who has been kept here for far too long and needs to go, nothing is done. I'm currently looking for a new residence, as are many of my friends and neighbors here. Priority Life Care has done nothing to fix the Management problems and the Kitchen problems yet they are fully aware of the situation, as many of us have complained directly to Corporate Officers on numerous occasions. Sadly, our complaints fall on deaf ears.

Don’t move there! Food isn’t good and often run out with residents going to bed hungry Manager lies and treats you with no respect and when confronted she gets very upset! If you love a parent don’t put them there to live! Three months of pure hell !

This community is understaffed, dirty and dangerous. We experienced numerous falls, medication mix up, dirty bathroom and rooms, no laundry, missing clothes, towels and personal belongings and under-qualified, lazy staff. Do no bring your loved one here. We had to move our dad, he suffered.

stear clear. the food is terrible and the sane staff that are cleaning the residences are also overworked and serving cafeteria style meals. there are no “chef-prepared” meals it’s garbage food and disappointing to say the least

My loved one was a resident at Brookdale Deer Creek and the experience at this facility was terrible. My loved one was ignored and left in her room while her dementia spiraled. The activities were non-existent. The food tasted like cardboard. Nothing that we were promised came through. A terrible experience and I would not recommend Brookdale Deer Creek to anyone for their loved one's care.

I got a call from my father who was in pain after loosing his balance and falling. He had called for help to use the bathroom and no one came. So he tried to go by himself and fell. Then he tried to call for help after the fall. No one came. I called repeatedly and no one answered. I had to drive there myself and inform the front desk staff there was an issue. Nursed admitted that there are to many people for them to help! Aparentlly the way the call system works is it rings at the desk for a time and then stops. It will not ring again even if cord is pulled again. It must be reset or pulling the cord does nothing. If they miss the first ring no one knows there is a problem. If someone does respond and doesn't reset the cord, they can't be called again!

if I could give zero stars I would. the staff if you want to call them that is not interested in caring for the elderly. they have yelled at my mother ignored her and lied to her. aside from that the food is disgusting I wouldn't serve it to my dog.

Thin wood between floors, you hear everything from the apartment above you, the woman in [removed] let's her 2 grandchildren run back and for and jump for hours every week in the evening after Las Palmas management leaves. The sound is ridiculous, like a heard of elephants on top of you, the level of inconsisderation is shocking. I politely asked the woman who lives in [removed] to stop and she told me it's her home and she can do whatever she wants, and that the assistant manager told her it was ok. The assistant manager not only ignored my pleas for help she had the audacity to suggest I should exchange phone numbers with the woman above me and call her and beg her to stop everytime it happens! that's the definition of gaslighting. The rent is $[removed]per month plus a huge non refundable fee to move in, way to much for zero support from management. I have been forced to call the police and request an officer and file a noise complaint since management at las palmas refuses to do anything about it.

My mother was a resident there for 2 1/2 years until her passing in 2019. My mother had immediate memory loss and unfortunately that was taken advantage of by a particular aide that assisted her in her hygiene care and dressing routines. Once I was able to put the pieces together and voice my concerns, the situation was addressed by changing her aides. Unfortunately that didn’t last forever because my concerns were heightened again as I was preparing to move her to a different memory care facility. Don’t let looks fool of a beautiful facility fool you and always keep an eye on your loved ones.

To whom it may concern: I am very disgusted in how Marion Woods home turned out after so many nice staff I met quit. There are very few staff now because of the salary and being overworked due to shortage of hand. I am trying to get my mom to move out of there after living there with her for one year and one month as a guest. The experience there was horrible when I visited mom in 2021. I don’t know where to begin. I was not supposed to get a rent raise of 8% after staying with mom a year but got it six months before and the manager of the place couldn’t help mom to remove the rent increase. Mom was so upset that she cried over her rent being increased 8% also and gets increased every year. They are being taking advantage of with the increase of rent and the controlling of the food. The food situation has gotten really bad in the sense that a lot of things are being removed from the menu and hardly anything left for one to choose from that many of the residents are going out food shop.

I moved my mother to Sterling Court. It was so bad. The staff was very rude and unfriendly. It was run down and poorly maintained. Leaks in roof with buckets in hallway and kitchen to catch the rain. Dirty carpet. Apartment cleaned three times in two months and that was after complaining numerous times. Cockroaches. Always promising to spray for bugs but never did. Bad food which you had to sit at a table and wait for an hour to be served. Then run out of food. Unsafe. Emergency doors jammed and blocked. A mess

The food is inedible and horrific. It is greasy and unhealthy. People are moving out left and right because of the food. It is awful. We do not eat there. The first two weeks we moved in it was decent and often good, then they had a huge budget cut and the food went way downhill. The facility is dirty. They advertise a heated pool and that is not true at all. The outside is not maintained. The fencing around the pool is rotting. The dryer vent is a major fire hazard, we have brought it up to many staff and they have done nothing. the washers and dryers are not in the rooms. We have a balcony that is full of mold and mildew. They are taking people whoa re mentally impaired and it is supposed to be independent living. They will cheat you every month on the bill so look over it carefully. They do not do month-to-month leasing, it is 6-month leases so then you are stuck. We cannot wait to move out.

My husband and I moved to Las Palmas in 2010. Then, I thought this place was everything I wanted (good food, a swimming pool, all that I had left). I've seen it all decline. Poor food quality, poor food preparation and presentation. I went to the pool yesterday and the water isn't heated anymore. I'm feeling disappointed and frustrated because our cost goes up, but services are less. I'm not getting what I pay for at all.

They are all very nice people and were friendly to my loved one! They can improve on everything ! We picked this community because, of the proximity, pricing, and I liked what they told me in the interview. They promised a lot more than they delivered.

When my Mother first lived here about 10 years ago, the establishment was run the way it should be run. Things changed each year after about 3 years to progressively worse. First German roaches invaded the place. I purchased everything I could to help my Mom's room. She finally moved out of it to another room. This year 2022 the place is short staffed. The food is below par, and sometimes if my 93 year old Mother is too ill to go to dining room, she gets her food and its cold. Her room sometimes isn't cleaned for several weeks. For the amount of money she pays, this is totally unexceptable. Something needs to be done, these elderly deserve comfort, good food and exceptional service. They have earned it. My Mom orders groceries so that she can fix meals when she can't make it to the dining room! That should NOT be necessary. I'm appalled at how this place has gone way downhill.
