Overall experience was not pleasant. Furniture is stained and did not meet any managers. Another family member mentioned a high level of turnover with management. The people I spoke to a few months back are no longer there.

Every one of the bad reviews on this page all the way down to 2018 are still current and valid complaints. I cannot stress to you enough that this place quite honestly should not even be operational. Every incident that happens there is brushed off and explained away. At what point does this place stop making excuses and just realize/admit that your team is not equipped to care for Memory Care patients nor is your corporation a reputable provider of such care. For example a 19 year old with 3 days of training before let loose to care for someone like this is absolutely insane! And yes the corporate liaison will post some BS response to this review below saying “thank you for your concerns, please come to us with these concerns because we would love to hear them and get them resolved. Blah Blah blah…… They know all of these issues and continue to bury them and continue to operate the same way. Shame on anyone affiliated with this facility, because you know what’s going on!

Most of the staff has quit, they have been taken over by Priority Life Care. This management team will not return your call, your email or come out to speak with you directly. They are short staffed with no end in sight. I feel bad for the older people who don't have anyone to fight for him. We as a family are able to but that is few and far between. We used all of our parents money on this place with it only to fall short & become a liability for all of us. If you can find yourself and [community removed] they actually care there.

There is never any staff around to assist. Clients mostly have to fend for themselves. Rooms are not clean. Place looks beautiful, clients are not well cared for.

Since [date removed] this place has been a construction site for interior renovation. 100 residents have endured delays dust noise workers in hallways vying for one elevator access. Sarasota County has issued a stop work order for unpermitted work. Work was begun without a licensed general contractor; one reportedly has been hired though unnamed. No end is in sight.

My loved one was in and out of the hospital quite a bit during her stay. When she would get back to her place, she always complained that things were missing. My sister and I pushed it off as she was getting the onset of dementia. This had gone on for several years. After she passed, we went to clean out her apartment, but somebody had already beat us to it. The day before she went to the hospital for the last time, she went to the bank with her friend from Tanglewood. She had pulled out [fee removed], for whatever reason. That money was gone. All the gift cards that we had gotten her for her birthday were gone [fee removed], her me vacuum and all her meds were gone. They kept all her belongings that were in storage, which was stuff from our childhood. The manager of the place never called either one of us for any reason, then started sending threatening letters to me that I owe them for my mom's last month or so. I disregarded them because she had nothing in her account after the funeral expenses. So she then put me in collections for several thousand dollars. I told them they didn't have a leg to stand on but they kept harassing me. Told them I was going to file a harassment charge on them and they finally stopped. So this is why this place is horrible in our eyes

We have since removed her from this facility. The staff is nice but several times we went and they were all sitting in the common area and my mother in law was sitting soiled or had dirty clothes on. I can certainly understand this happening every now and then but it was almost every time.

Sadly, not good at all. Be very thorough when making your arrangements for this facility. We were underwhelmed to say the least. The facility looks very nice. Im sure the staff are fine (tho in these facilities, there are never enough staff and I often wonder about their credentials.) The facility and the corporate office will get a more concise description of my disappointment., and dissatisfaction.

Horrible facility! They would make promises and not follow through. [name removed] passed on [date removed]. They failed to keep him comfortable during that time. Terrible experience. I would tell anyone not to go here!

Placed my father in law at this facility based on representative from sales area. Toured facility which was clean and well organized. In our situation father needed to be moved to dementia side very quickly. At that time we found staff was not trained to handle the needs he needed in multiple ways.

If I could give Brookdale a rating of 0 for all of those items I would. They did not provide the services that they were supposed to and I had to move my mother out after a month because I was worried about her health and safety. They stole thousands of dollars, charging a non-refundable move in fee and last month rent, even though they engaged in fraud by not providing the services that were promised. After not having success getting the facility management to improve my mother's care I contacted their corporate office several times and they never responded. That's when my mother and I decided that she had to move out.

This place was absolutely horrible. The administrators did not care about my loved one. They are not qualified to be running a facility that cares for anyone. The staff would run in the opposite direction when they saw anyone in my family for fear that we would ask them to do something. The food was not edible. It was a very depressing atmosphere. The residents are left hanging over their wheelchairs. My loved one was a resident here less than a month. We pulled them out in fear that they would kill them. We found their medication on the floor on several occasions. Please find another facility to place your loved one!

Do not put your loved one at that facility. They yelled at my mother kicked her out of the dining hall and never disciplined the aids. The food is horrific.

I'd have to say the overall experience was not a good one. My husband was only at Poet's Walk for a two-week respite. During that time I didn't really get any break. When I visited him he was always alone in a corner of his room which only had a bed and nightstand. The mattress was stained so I brought a mattress pad from home. My dad had been in respite care at another facility several years ago and it was nicely furnished with a TV, mini fridge and lovely decor. My husband's room looked as though someone had just moved out (or died). No one bothered to learn his name, probably because he was short term. If I hadn't had another obligation out of state I would never have left him there. Since that time, I've learned that many of the staff have left and I know several families who moved their loved ones out of Poet's Walk. Perhaps things are better there now.

Overall, Celebration Villa of Hearthstone was a negative experience. Very poor response by administration on any issues addressed by us. We moved her from Celebration Villa due to our poor experience! Mom lived there 20 months

Please do not take a loved one there. Understaffed, new administrator and office help leave you on hold until you hang up, many things stolen from there. Lunchroom windows were filthy, could not even see out. It must be years since washed. The service van doesn't run after 5:00 and we were left stranded to get back from the doctor's until they called someone for overtime. No heat in this van.

My husband was admitted on a Friday afternoon, by Saturday evening he had fallen twice within 30 hours. This facility has not have enough help on weekends, by Thursday afternoon he was lacking in oxygen, I was informed by staff that they had been thinking about sending him to the hospital. He was admitted that day at 5:00 p.m. and passed away at 5:00 p.m. the next day. This facility does not have enough staff to handle difficult cases.7

Worst place ever, if we could give them a 0 we would. I would not recommend a pet rock go there. Anyone I speak with personally and professionally known the issues my family had. After my mom died and we moved my dad to a much better facility I called a place for mom and told them about that place

When mom went into Celebration Villa we had a meeting with them agreed on prices to be paid, and after she moved in it was a completely different story and price. Over all the place was nice. But she just could not afford what they wanted her to pay. She is now living with my sister and having issues with getting food for herself. And I want to try and help her find some resources.

They rush you into signing their contract without explaining everything When I moved him in, they wanted all of his prescription medication's which I gave them. There was a lot of medicine there, including four months worth of inhalers for his COPD and two full bottles of Tylenol arthritis eight hour unopened. They said they would tag them with his name and use them first but they did not do that. He fell and bumped his head on the ninth day at 11:30 at night and was taken or I should say sent by ambulance to the emergency room. All alone. I did not know anything about it until the next morning because someone called and left a voicemail on my work phone The night before, so that means my father with dementia was in the emergency room all by himself and I'm sure all the questions they ask he say "I don't know He had to have a Covid test and a tuberculosis test negative for both before he could be admitted so he did that and he was negative. Nine days later, when he fell and was admitted to the hospital, he had Covid, common pneumonia, a fever, was dehydrated and had a UTI. He was in the hospital and IV antibiotics for two days, then sent to rehab for four weeks. The people that work there are very friendly, but we did not receive what we paid for. My dad was only there for nine days and in those nine days time he did not have a shower or a shave and he fell three times because he was always left all alone. They have six levels of care, each step cost $500 more. After my father moved in, they moved him from level one to level two and charged us $500 more when I asked exactly what is included in the levels of care they said they would explain it later, which they never did. We were billed by their pharmacy about $100 and since he did not return to their facility after he fell, I called and requested that they returned his medication to me, but they would not do that.
