Priority Life Care

My loved one has only been here a short time, but it has been somewhat of a mixed experience so far. The facility itself is very pretty and well taken care of. However, there have been a lot of changes in the management staff recently and things have seemed a bit unorganized. My loved one has also said that they could do a lot better when it comes to activities, there are not nearly enough activities and outings.

Their memory care unit was small and poorly lit. Seemed very confined.

Services not what we expected.Food quality is poor and food service is extremely slow.Waitresses have to bus tables before serving entree.Housekeeping poor. Absence of any effective and aggressive management. No one seems to be in charge. Many residents are considering leaving this facility. A beautiful designed and appointed facility,but poor management will hasten a declining reputation that is touted in the brochures. Rates charged are too high for what services are provided. Too many residents using walkers and can hardly make it to the dining table. The resident population looks more like that of an assisted living facility. Lack of recreation program requiring some physical activity is very limited as a result.

It’s an older building. They were pretty nice. It was close to me. It’s a nice place. I can do pretty much everything they do. They would forget to call me to get refills. They checked on him all time. I’m sure they had nice activities. The price is probably comparable to others. Families should shop around. My loved one didn’t like the food. They also have independent living. Independent living eats first and then assisted living is served, which meant food sometimes needed to be reheated.

It didn't impress us. They had all these stories and we felt like we would get lost. It was nice and not as busy as some of the bigger ones, but it was too confusing with all the hallways and elevators.

I thought I liked it, but after a short time, it became clear that if your loved one doesn't understand the protocols and procedures, this isn't the right fit. Their screening process isn't that great, the doctor put dementia on the medical form and they disagreed and said that it was just memory loss, and asked the doctor to change the wording in the diagnosis to reflect that, to be in compliance with what they are licensed for. I am disturbed that they won't let someone with dementia in, but memory loss, which is also part of dementia, is something they think they can handle. They could not. They had a few individuals there that were just great. Managment is so scared to lose their license and are just over cautious and having knee jerk reactions. They didn't do much better than he did with medication. They did his laundry and lost it. And told him he was wrong. They would be good at taking care of different levels of people with a physical ailment maybe, but not a needing mental help. They fed him well and the apartments were beautiful. So if you are mostly independent, it would be fine.

It was a multi-level building, and to me it was not in as great of a location as were we picked. It was well decorated and well organized.

The patient to aide ratio was lacking. There wasn't enough help.Things seemed to take forever even to get an aspirin. A little more help would have been good. I was very pleased with the activities. He ate well I would say the food was a five. I met an aide and it was a younger person and they left my loved one alone and he took a fall so maybe a little more awareness or training for the new employess would be good. They were very good with communication they would call right away. The size was nice not so big this was one reason we picked it.

So far we are fairly pleased with Broadmore Senior Living except for I found out they were assisting my mother with bathing and this was clearly not a service we asked for or was needed for her at this time. The facility is very nice with big social rooms for the residents and some activities but more would be nice that are varied throughout the week.

They wouldn't take take my mother because of med compliance. They seemed a little less organized too. First someone said yes, come and have lunch and then said they called back and said they wouldn't be able to take her. There was no body watching the back door which opens up wide. I seemed like for borderline memory care they would want to watch that back door. I didn't see that but that's just my own, personal impression. I was considering having her there. She doesn't have that extreme of memory issues so I wasn't as concerned for her but it seemed odd to me.

Our main complaint was the attitude of some of the residents there. When you go to sit at a table you were refused a spot there, they said they were waiting for someone and that was against Venetians rules. We got caged away from different tables different times and I wrote that in our complaint to the manager, which she addressed, and sent out a slip to all of the people there about it, I heard it's still going on. I was also turned away at bingo, I went to sit down and they said "we've been sitting here for 4-5 years," they weren't going to move and they weren't going to let me sit was their attitude. There were several people that were very nice, the majority of them were nice and we had a beautiful apartment so we liked that.

The unit that I secured for Ms. Richardson is very acceptable. The rehab of 9-#107 was accomplished in an acceptable manner and was prepared for her earlier- than- planned move in. The food and service is very good. When requested, advise and assistance was provided.

Has rocking chairs out front and a beautiful campus. Transportation anywhere - store, groceries, Dr's, any church, etc. First 2 weeks - an ambassador resident will escort her to meals and such. Anytime dining - 7am-6pm; they will call her if she does not show up at all. $2,495 (480 sq feet) to $2,795 (525 sq feet). Level 2 Medications 4x per day - $325. Clean apt 1x per week - they will wash sheets and towels. If she wants other laundry (not do herself) - $50. Cable - $32. Telephone $30. [removed] $3,232

Very nice place but too expense the monthly rate is more than Moms monthly income

Dad and I visited Elmcroft. He was not enthused!

Tanglewood is a really nice community. The staff is friendly and the community is well maintained. Our loved one is happy here. We had issues with them during the initial move in time. They kept giving us a move in date but it kept changing so we had to continuously change the date for the movers and furnisher delivery. They really made a difficult situation even more difficult. Even though we could not move in we still had to pay for that time. During the time of the issues we were starting to wish we hadn't signed a contract with them but once we finally got moved in and settled in it was a big turn around. Now we are very happy to be here.

Pleasant staff and units were OK but didn't have full kitchen.

I liked Atria. It was very nice and director was helpful.

Beautiful facility. It was clean and neat but there were residents wandering around confused.
