Would not choose. Rigid mealtimes. Motel style heat/ac units, odd shaped rooms, inadequate kitchenette in private quarters. No walk in showers. Needs updating. Smells old. No screens on balconies.

Gave more of a nursing home feeling which I think my mother would have a problem with. Facility was clean but older.

We met with the personnel at this place, but ultimately determined that it was too independent for our family member's needs (they don't have a nurse or any medical personal on staff). But it seemed nice and the residents seemed happy. Looks like it would be good for a retirement community.

I’m husband and I were given a tour of most of the facility and were able to see some of the rooms. We are looking for a place for my mother. I really liked the shared rooms where the residents had doors they could close for their bedrooms but one of the residents would have to go to the living area to use the bathroom there. Many of the places in the facility had a strong urine scent. Our tour guide said renovations were almost complete but I wasn’t impressed considering the costs. Costs are alacarte so you have to pay extra for assistance with dressing, showers, bathroom needs, and medical management. This is close to my home but not my first choice.

I am SO disappointed with what has happened with this place. My Mother moved in before Brookdale took over and we loved it. There are wonderful staff members here on the day shift and afternoons but am not sure about nights. Cleanliness is so-so. Most of the nursing staff is excellent and the food recently is Much better, But the staff runs the building the way they want to. Many residents have left and some have died recently. Such a shame. This place a few years back was Full and Happy. Still some very good staff make this a possibility for those who want this location.

I like the care the from the staff at this community. The staff has been nice. The menu is good and she seems to be happy with the activities that are offered. The community has a clean environment. We would suggest that families tour this community for the care of a loved one.

I did a 2-week respite stay here to see if I would fit in if I moved here. I liked the staff and they treated me well, they told me about the different activities, none of which I liked and they made sure I came down for my meals with the other residents. The food was fair but it was depressing as some of the residents were friendly others just sat around doing nothing. I finally decided that I would be better off in my own home with caregivers for now.

I had a very nice tour of this community, the staff was very friendly and they took they're time showing us around and answered all our questions. The community is nice, clean and the residents have a lot of amenities to choose from. I just didn't feel it was as secure as what my father would need.

Everyone was very kind to my husband, and I during our tour of this community. Everything went well. The community looked nice. It was a pretty nice experience, but we did find another community that met our needs better.

Their facility was nice but there was an odor. I felt they could have been more forthcoming about Medicaid and how it actually covers a person.

My mother and I toured this facility after a few others, and got an immediate sense of the camaraderie and commitment to making residents feel like family. If you're looking for a place to feel welcomed and looked after, this would be a great choice. Also, beautiful, open feeling inside, and large, screened pool with cabana and morning shade outside on attractive grounds. The living quarters are roomy and include a screened-in balcony, but, negative for us, no oven, stove, microwave, or even suitable space for a microwave. There IS a full kitchen on the main floor, for those residents who'd like to cook every now and then, but it was unfortunate to us to have that as the option. I would like to visit my mom and cook her yummy items she can feast on when she doesn't feel like eating with the others--that's kind of a tradition for us, so it's important. However, for those residents who have no interest in cooking and just want to be fed, it wouldn't be a problem. That's really the only thing we didn't really like; other than that, Pennie and the rest of the staff were wonderful, and many of the residents came up to us of their own accord and told us how much they enjoyed living there, and how welcomed she would be, which was a great indication to us of resident satisfaction for those who want to be a part of things. Very impressive place, and I'd recommend it to visit--especially if cooking is not important. Aside from that, and a very small gym (two pieces of the same equipment), it's a wonderful place.

Very nice facility, but too pricy for us. I think a one bedroom is $3800/month for independent living.

Residents sitting out front seemed engaged and talked to each other. For someone who's looking for staff involvement, this won't be a good choice as they seem to be more like a Senior Apartment type of place. They expect the residents to check on each other ... staff won't do that. Even the emergency call button goes to "Great Call" - an independent company. The amenities look pretty good ...bed and towel laundry and cleaning once a week; residents do their other laundry themselves at free machines; 3 meals a day; snacks put out during the day; Restaurant style service. For someone who's primarily looking for a senior apartment with little involvement from the staff this is a good choice. Approximately 125 residents and 20 staff (plus additional evening servers at the restaurant). Average resident age is probably about 80 with the range being about 56 - 99.

The community was very nice and very clean. The whole place was nice and very well kept. The people were outstanding in helping us with whatever we needed. They just did not offer memory care and that is what we needed.

All of the staff that greeted us during our tour where very friendly and had lots of great information to give me about there community. I would defiantly suggest that they have a stronger communication line. What I mean by that is when I had asked who there main point of contact was I could not get a straight answer. I think that is important in case of emergency or if I needed to get a hold of my mother.

Tanglewood units look outdated and, although they had some great move-in specials, those were limited to specific, less desirable units. The only two bedroom, two bath they have was in the assisted living area, which they said could be used by my parents without assisted living add-ons. Maybe it is not unusual but I thought it strange that the assisted living and independent residence are on the same floor, with separate side-by side dining rooms.

I toured this community for my mother and her needs. Everything went well, and they were very kind. The community looked good, everything looked nice and clean. The staff was friendly and kind. It was a good experience, but not the community for us.

This community has three floors and I did not like that the assisted living residents were put on this floor. They have their own dining room and are separated from the independent living residents. The surroundings were nice and the people I met were nice.

My mother is doing as well as can be expected here at this community. They are providing her with good care overall. It is still a work in progress for us here at this community. She is taking some to adjust to the community.

I had a pretty pleasant tour of this community. The community looked nice and well maintained. The staff I met was knowledgeable and kind. They were also informative and answered my questions. It was a nice tour, but it wasn't the one for my father and his needs. This is a good community for the right type person.
