They are in the process of redecorating, so it will be nice and fresh. It was clean. The tour was disorganized, we wanted to know how many residents there were and they could not tell us. The residents weren't really out and about. Beautiful setting.

It would depend on the person going. I feel that if your loved one is more independent this community would be better. Your loved one needs to be able to speak up themselves. The dining room is open and available for the residents to go eat, and the food is ok. The staff is very nice.

Realizing we have been here for around one year and one half of that time has been during the virus, we find it very difficult to make a real review. We can say that all of the management team has been very helpful and have made our stay very comfortable.

Need more storage. Meals are fair during the week but not on the weekends. Tired of lukewarm too cold meals. Also, too much carbohydrates. Not good for weight and diabetes. During quarantine we are treated like little kids. We should be able to take pets outside ourselves. it's too expensive for what you get. They made [company name removed] volunteers for income tax sit outside in 90° temperatures. Very embarrassing.

At 90, I decided it was the right time to be taken good care of. They have food and housekeeping at Regency Residence.

We chose this facility because we liked the location and after the tour we thought it would be a great fit for her. The room sizes here are decent. I would want other to know that they give a nice tour and sell you something different than what you will receive such as the pool was broken, the bus, the food, etc. I would not recommend Las Palmas.

Servers generally do their job well. Chef needs to learn to do better. Much food is over-cooked and hard to recognize from names on the menu.

My mother resided at Poets Walk, San Antonio, for approximately 10 months before passing. There is a high amount of employee/nurse/caregiver turnover but I expected this within this industry. Only had a couple of what I considered "serious" issues which were somewhat resolved. However, my most serious issue now is that my mother passed away at the first of the month after her monthly rental charge had gone thru. They told me that they owed us a refund. Now the REAL ISSUE......corporate has to issue the refund and now 2 months later....NOTHING! Have spoken with the San Antonio facility and they tell me that they can "only" send a email to corporate! REALLY! I have tried calling the corporate office only to get an answering machine, leave a message, and no one ever calls me back! Based on how corporate takes care of business would I recommend Poets Walk.....NO!

Grounds and buildings are well kept. Food could be better, it's just satisfactory. Staff is great - pleasant and helpful. Housekeeping could be better. Windows inside never worked in 3 years since I've been here. Staff strictly adhering to pandemic rules and reg. So far we are virus-free. Thank god!! Yearly rent increases are top excessive for what we are getting in return.

We have been here 4 years. Like everything in our life they are good days and weeks, people are reliable but like you said the last couple of months we stayed here and see you later. Hope should come soon.

Thank you for all you've done for me. You do the best you can. The servers are very nice and always aks me.

When you move your loved one in, you need to be local for at least a week to help the transition. They are not good at communication and it is hard to understand the staff members . They are doing a good job with COVID, only one resident and a few staff have gotten the virus. The facility is always clean. My mom has a studio and it is spacious and clean. My mom was very impressed with the food, no complaints. The corporate office is very responsive.

I’m happy with most of the people who work here. I don’t like rent raises every year on such an expensive place. We’re not getting what we’re giving. I can’t lock in my rent rate without it being raised a lot because of my age I was told. My time here can’t last because of that. I will miss the people. I love the people here. There is nothing to keep us busy like other places.

I would have liked a little more communication overall. The food was good. The rooms were fine in size, but a little dark. We did not have a good experience with one of the care givers in the dining room.

Brookdale is a clean and orderly, smells good. They have nice wide hallways easy to navigate. Staff is very pleasant and helpful. Value started out good but they keep adding services and increasing the price. Communication from the LPN and Doctors to residents and primary contact is a little skewed. Need more resident input. My mom is happy with the activities. Residents are known by their name and not by a number. I would tell people looking to get a good handle on communication on services, costs and add-ons.

The common areas of this facility were what I considered "typical" for the small town we're from in the northeast - needed updating and some repair work, and the lobby doubled as a "hanging out" space for residents since there's not much public space. If you were in need of a facility truly in West Palm, this would be the best bet from what we saw. We met a few residents who seemed happy enough. The pool looked inviting, and the grounds were lovely. My son was excited that they stock the pond, so he could have gone fishing with grandpa. But none of us were thrilled with the quality of the apartments - it was "damp motel" quality, and the hallways were dark and so tight there's no way two wheelchairs could easily pass each other. This facility did not offer a "shelter in place" option as newer facilities (built to the new standard) offer. In fact, the apartments did not seem very handicap-accessible overall (this community was retrofit to be an Assisted Living facility, and it's evident.) The library was nice, and the shared computers located there were up to date technology-wise. This facility has no Memory Care option, so should that be needed later, you'd have to move your loved one. Ultimately we went with a new, large facility in a far suburb that simply offered more for exactly the same overall costs.

I am very happy here. Have lived here 3 years - have enjoyed all the functions offered. Staff check on residents if they do not come for meals on time or do not hear from them during the day. We have everything here we need!

We had a pleasant visit, tour and discussion with the sales coordinator. This is a independent living facility and would require a "move" should a resident require an assisted living. For this reason alone, we will not be considering at this time. One feature that we were not pleased with is the "wall unit" A/C... sort of like a hotel. The unit was in the living room, but not the bedroom. Since this is a fairly new facility, we were surprised they chose this type of HVAC over central. I caution anyone reading this to not be influenced by a Star rating. This is very subjective and "your" personal visit is of the utmost importance.

Brookdale Deer Creek in Deerfield Beach is centrally located and has a decent interior. Has larger sized studio apts than most others. Caters to older seniors, most over 80+. Seems relatively clean, pleasant front desk staff. However, meal portions seem smaller and though the menu looks appetizing a lot of the food is unseasoned or plain tasting and sometimes is served lukewarm rarely hot. They need to improve in this area. A few meal servers I saw arguing amongst themselves in front of residents, so more staff discipline is needed for a smoother operation in hospitality. The nurse/Rx station is sufficient more than efficient. Housekeeping is adequate as is maintenance. Brookdale is better than some for those not yet ready for a bed-nursing home. Younger, active seniors would prefer a different environment in my opinion. Pricing is less than some competitors, which is good.

There has been a problem with cleaning residents' apartments as one employee left. After several days another employee was hired and things have improved as far as cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, changing sheets, etc. Meals are plentiful but not very tasty. Carrots served for several days were too hard to cut with a knife. Though hot dogs and hamburgers are supposed to be available every lunch and dinner, the kitchen has been out and out and out. Be prepared to WAIT for your meal. It can be 90 minutes. The activity director is great and the receptionist who does many things is also great.
