Me and my loved ones were able to take a tour of this community. It was nice and had a lot of natural air. Also the staff that took us on the tour seemed knowledgeable and friendly. Me and my family just felt that it lacked the homey feeling.

This community immediately gave me a bad feeling. This community is better for people that are not very active and can still take care of themselves for the most part. They do offer some activities. The food choices that they give are healthy. I would recommend this community, but only to people that have loved ones that can not do for themselves.

As I viewed the community on my tour it appeared to be in need of remodeling. Otherwise, the tour went good. I have an understanding of what is provided here. From what I saw it looked like good interaction between the residents and staff.

I rated them a 3 only because they were not set up to handle assisted living issues. As a residential facility it is 5 stars. A large open facility allows residents to enjoy live entertainment from any of the 3 floors. The dining room looked like a 5 star restaurant. There were many activities/functions for all to enjoy.

I have nothing bad to say about Brookdale Jensen Beach it was a nice place for the short time that my brother was there. He had a situation that did require him to leave but the staff just was not able to care for him and that is understandable. The community is a very nice and well kept place everything looks really nice. Staff was nothing but helpful and really kind to us. They were very easy going and really easy to talk to about my concerns. One of the residents has mention to us on the tour that the food is amazing it is so good that they have all gained weighted since moving there I thought that was nice to hear. Overall it was a nice experience.

They went out of their way to see us right away because we were in a hurry to find a place for my loved one. They were super accommodating. They just couldn't be nicer. Whenever I go visit, the staff seems fine.

Things are not going well at Brookdale. We are having meal problems. The meals are not warm. My Mother gets room service for breakfast and dinner and the meals are cold and not hot. We have relayed this information to the nursing and dining staff (even the Dining Director) and they can't seem to get it right. If we don't get this problem resolved, I will be pulling Mom out. Some of the staff definitely needs to go. Everyone is nice there and she likes it. It's just a problem with the meals.

We agreed to come in and they guaranteed two months free. They would not let me have the room until the end of the month though, but still made me pay for the month. They said we would get that money back, but it was a total lie.

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. I wasn't particularly impressed by this place, but I wouldn't say it was bad. It just seemed a bit run down, and we were looking for something more upscale for our loved one.

Our experience at The Crossings at Riverview has been somewhat mixed. The people here are very friendly, and they do a good job keeping the facility looking well kept and clean. However, when it comes to the care they just feel understaffed, which can cause delays or missed details. It's not a bad place, I just wish they had a few more people on staff.

I just would like to say what a great community for my loved one to live. As a family we had a difficult time giving up caring from my loved one. In the end we knew we made the right choice having mom live at Elmcroft. It is now her home and the staff makes us feel welcome. My mom is well cared for and she is engaged in activities throughout the day. We love Elmcroft and are happy to call it home.

So far we have had somewhat of a mixed experience with Desoto Beach Club. The facility itself is very nice, the location is wonderful, and the staff are friendly and attentive. However there are a few aspects that they could really stand to improve. The food really does not sit well with my loved one, they serve a lot of pork and other processed meats that she does not eat, I'd like to see some fresher options. We're also somewhat disappointed with the activities. They have a lot of things on the schedule but many of them get cancelled due to a lack of participation. Some of the group activities are a bit cliqueish, it is hard to get into a card group.

My elderly mother has been at Atria Manresa now since September. While the setting is beautiful, I've been frustrated by the apparent lack of coordination among caregivers. I've provided information to the caregiver on duty about my mom's needs and have found that it is not relayed to the caregiver on the next shift. My mother had chest cold symptoms for a week, worrisome for a 90 year old. During this time, I was not contacted, and my mother continued to take her meals in the dinning room with other residents. On one of my visits, I happened to speak with one very dedicated caregiver, who told me she was concerned about my mother because she wasn't improving. She seemed to suggest that he had had some difficulty in getting her concerns across to other staff. I should also say that we had trouble getting a doctor to see her in a timely way because of my delay in locating a local doctor following her move. Ultimately, Atria Manresa sent her to the emergency room, where she was diagnosed with pneumonia and very low blood oxygen. She was released to rehab after 4 days and spent a month in rehab receiving excellent care. During the period prior to her hospitalization, I noticed increased confusion and asked her to be assessed, but the decision was that she didn't need increased care. When I asked how she was assessed, the nurse who had done the "assessment" told me she asked caregivers if they had gone into her room to help her during the month. Since they had not, she had decided that she didn't have any additional needs. x

My loved one has only been here a short time, but it has been somewhat of a mixed experience so far. The facility itself is very pretty and well taken care of. However, there have been a lot of changes in the management staff recently and things have seemed a bit unorganized. My loved one has also said that they could do a lot better when it comes to activities, there are not nearly enough activities and outings.

Their memory care unit was small and poorly lit. Seemed very confined.

Services not what we expected.Food quality is poor and food service is extremely slow.Waitresses have to bus tables before serving entree.Housekeeping poor. Absence of any effective and aggressive management. No one seems to be in charge. Many residents are considering leaving this facility. A beautiful designed and appointed facility,but poor management will hasten a declining reputation that is touted in the brochures. Rates charged are too high for what services are provided. Too many residents using walkers and can hardly make it to the dining table. The resident population looks more like that of an assisted living facility. Lack of recreation program requiring some physical activity is very limited as a result.

It’s an older building. They were pretty nice. It was close to me. It’s a nice place. I can do pretty much everything they do. They would forget to call me to get refills. They checked on him all time. I’m sure they had nice activities. The price is probably comparable to others. Families should shop around. My loved one didn’t like the food. They also have independent living. Independent living eats first and then assisted living is served, which meant food sometimes needed to be reheated.

It didn't impress us. They had all these stories and we felt like we would get lost. It was nice and not as busy as some of the bigger ones, but it was too confusing with all the hallways and elevators.

I thought I liked it, but after a short time, it became clear that if your loved one doesn't understand the protocols and procedures, this isn't the right fit. Their screening process isn't that great, the doctor put dementia on the medical form and they disagreed and said that it was just memory loss, and asked the doctor to change the wording in the diagnosis to reflect that, to be in compliance with what they are licensed for. I am disturbed that they won't let someone with dementia in, but memory loss, which is also part of dementia, is something they think they can handle. They could not. They had a few individuals there that were just great. Managment is so scared to lose their license and are just over cautious and having knee jerk reactions. They didn't do much better than he did with medication. They did his laundry and lost it. And told him he was wrong. They would be good at taking care of different levels of people with a physical ailment maybe, but not a needing mental help. They fed him well and the apartments were beautiful. So if you are mostly independent, it would be fine.
