I toured this community and it was ok. It was clean and staff was friendly, a little more pricey than several of the others that I toured. The presentation and tour itself was also much shorter than others that I toured.

They seem to always be short-staffed, which is unfortunate but happening across the board everywhere. There is a lot of staff changeover. My understanding is that the residents should be eating in the dining area but end up eating in their room because there's not enough staff. The staff that are there are friendly. The care is mostly good. I just have to stay on top of it.

If you need help, just ask for it, and make sure you follow up. There has been more follow-up than I anticipated, but they are accountable and things have been getting better. My loved one's care is a work in progress, but they've been working with us, and it's getting better. If your person is higher functioning and on board with the move, it's a very good place. Your loved one will get out of the situation what they put into it. My loved one was resistant to going, and sometimes she won't push her button when she needs help, or she refuses services like showering. So there were a lot of things we've had to follow up on, partly because of her resistance, partly due to their use of agency staff to supplement their regular staff. There is some communication breakdown between nursing and the aides. However, every time we've brought any concerns to them, they were very approachable and took the initiative that they could do some things better. The new head of nursing is very approachable and texts back and forth with me. The director is upfront, takes responsibility, and is putting the plans we talked about into action. Everyone has been very friendly with me and helpful. They greet me and say hi, and ask how my loved one is doing. They know her personally. The food looks good, and I don't hear her complain. They do have activities and have been working on getting her to participate. The facility itself is beautiful. It's a good place overall and just needs improvement in internal communication/coordination regarding care needs.

Check staff out before hiring, aides do not want to work. I do not want aides to tell me I have to do something I want to keep my independence

The people were very nice and super overall. Reading their policies and everything, other patients weren't supposed to go into other rooms etc. But after his surgery I advised them was taking him home with me and they wouldn't allow it due to their policy as they had a 30 day policy to release him. So they wouldn't follow policy on the rooms as noted above, but when we had tried to take him home they wouldn't allow. Would seem as if they would pick and choose which policies to follow which didn't seem correct or right. Other than the issue noted, most everything was pretty well there even though were there for a short period of time.

It's positive as long as you don't need any specialized medical care. I'm ran into an issue because my dad needed more help than an assisted living place can handle. Communication between the community and me & my family has been good. They mostly communicate through email and phone call. I would describe their staff as very nice and helpful. I'd also like to give a shoutout to my advisor from A Place for Mom, [name removed]. She was very super helpful and very personable. Obviously, it's a very emotional time and she was very comforting as well as helpful. I looked forward to having her call.

The place is nice. Small with limited residents.

My parents are very disappointed with the food. It's not bad, but it's not good, and there's not much selection when you have food delivered vs. eating in the dining room. They often get orders wrong. They don't pay attention to dietary concerns or timelines of serving food for diabetics, which can have serious health consequences. I understand they're short-staffed, but they're not listening to our concerns regarding the food. It is a good place otherwise The staff is friendly and helpful. And the apartment is nice. It's a good size and very adequate for senior needs. The food/dining just needs serious improvement.

We have had several different incidents happen from the billing being wrong to clothes disappearing to strange people going into other residents rooms to snooping around then items come up missing. The bathroom/room is dirty where the family is cleaning it weekly. Very poor management all the way around. Have complained several times about bugs/ants and being told it's being taken care of but their still there. Also have complained since October of 2021 a broken window in my mother's room. Carpet in room is so old and dirty it won't come clean. Transportation for medical appointments is supposed to be available, twice I have had to make arrangements to take my mother for lab work at the hospital because Celebration Villa no longer does labs. It's very sad that there is no proper authorized medical personnel there. For the amount of money I pay these things should not be happening.

The local facility is great, but corporate is really hard. Billing, payments and things like that are challenging. I'm managing stuff for my mom and it's hard here, it can be very difficult. The people at the local place are really great, but they are understaffed which I think goes back to corporate. There's' a question of - are they paying them enough, are they giving them benefits?, etc.. They have a hard time keeping help. The activities have made a world of difference to my mom. She would not leave the house before, and she is now fully engaged in activities throughout the week. Some of their activities include bingo 4 times a week, field trips to lunch or the park, religious services for different denominations, and exercise that is appropriate for their physical capabilities. Overall I would recommend Holiday The Venetian Gardens to others.

The was a nice community. They had kitchenettes in the apartment instead of a full kitchen that my loved one wanted.

We did a virtual tour with Brookdale Jensen Beach. We were pretty neutral about it, they did not seem to provide the adequate amount of care that we were looking for for our loved one. It became clear this was not going to be the best fit, but the facility seemed nice from what we were able to see.

We felt very good about the cleanliness of the community. The activities director was fantastic, everything that was offered to the residents was great. The weekday staff were great, but the weekend staff were poorly trained to handle the end stages of Alzheimer's.
