It is truly sad to see your caregivers cleaning, doing laundry, vacuuming. I have seen patients needing help & your staff totally distracted doing other duties. Very short staffed & that is a acceptable.

Just to name a few of the issues we encountered here: The doctor on staff took it upon himself to prescribe a 'black box' warning drug for a patient he had never seen, without consulting with the patients primary care physician, or the family member with medical power of attorney. The drug he prescribed was in no way appropriate for the patient. When his error was discovered he refused to meet with family members or the primary care physician. Additionally, all of the instructions that accompanied the patient at check in were lost, and the few that were retained were ignored repeatedly by staff that resulted in the family having to hire an advocate to literally go to the facility every day to be sure instructions were being followed. It was determined that moving as quickly as possible was the best option for the patient. Benton House was notified 24 hours in advance that the patient would be moved, but upon check out the facility was unable to locate any personal possessions of the patient, including all clothing that was brought into the facility by the patient. Run Away, run fast, go somewhere else, under a bridge would be a better alternative than this disorganized, unprofessional, borderline illegal facility. Reviews on the Benton house doctor in question are alarming to say the least.
