A Place for Mom has scored Phoenix Senior Living with 8.3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score based on 481 reviews in the last 2 years. Over all time, Phoenix Senior Living has 1,586 reviews with an average "overall experience" of 4.2 out of 5.
I recently moved a family member into Remington House and after a very short time, (8 days), she became extremely ill and had to move out. During the 8 days, she never once left her apartment....not even to have a meal in the dining room. The $2,000 Community Fee, (which goes into the land of nowhere for nothing), was paid, and our request of a refund was denied. The onsite team, regional team and corporate team is unresponsive and has an "oh well" attitude. I am very disappointed at the lack of concern shown by people who supposedly are in business to ensure care and well-being of seniors. It is evident that this company is only focused on financial gain, regardless of resident satisfaction and safety. I do not recommend this community or company to anyone. Do your due diligence before making a decision.

Just wanted everyone to know what happened to my Dad!! They let him get so badly dehydrated, he has been in Hospital for over 8 days now. My Dad has Alzheimer's, so that has really set him back. We will not be going back, well put it this way he can't go back because he has to learn how to sit up, walk and talk again!! The dehydration has set him back so much. I so really sad, and mad about things!!! I just don't understand why they let this happen!!!!

The first night my MIL was in the memory care unit, she was left unattended, got out of bed, fell and hit her head. She hadn't been checked on in hours. Wound up in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. Back there now, Day 3. No breakfast, didn't get fed until 1PM. They forgot to give her her meds. One person working for 20 memory care patients. My wife had to help change her diaper, go get her meds. Woefully understaffed! The place sure looks nice, but do memory care patients need a stacked stone fireplace, movie theater and othe amenities? The are there as a marketing tool to sell the folks who are placing the parents. You can probably be ignored for less elsewhere.

New Management and ownership at the beginning of this year. Expanded memory care without having adequate staff. Administration is lip service. Place smells like a Nursing Home. Staff sit behind counter and ignore patients. Staff uses cellphone out in open. Rooms are dirty. Huge staff turnover. No one cares on the memory side.

I'm not sure why this place shows good reviews... At least for the memory care units. It used to be The Orchard in Tucker. Our loved one received sub-par care while there. Medication mistakes, cuts and bruises that no one knows how they came to be, communication issues (lack thereof), laundry issues, bed bugs, caretakers that lose people...to name a few. Also, the food looks Nothing like the pics. I know some places are worse, but this one is definitely not as good as they appear. Sure, the decor and landscaping are beautiful, but I'd rather have good care for my loved one. Once we moved our loved one out, they've improved and we are much happier and less worried.

I have a family member that stayed there and when I visited in the evening I was treated by the front desk woman with a cold shoulder, she was extremely unfriendly, as were many of the staff there. The level of care was unimpressive and there were very few activities that I could tell. It was depressing.

I was not impressed with the staff who gave my loved one and I tour of this community. They were not professional and I just had such an awkward feeling throughout the entire visit. It was very uncomfortable and I would not want my loved one to be cared for by them. The over all facility did not have a warm feeling to it and felt nothing like a home.

Their marketing and sales, first rate. Actual care, epic fail. This place is a nightmare. Very few activities, none that stimulate the residents. Nurse is hardly on site. No night supervision. Very little day supervision. No frequent check ins to make sure the residents are doing OK. Weak management. Disgruntled staff. Bad and cold food. Good staff left months ago. Looking for a warehouse for your loved one, this is the place. If you want someplace that does more than get your loved one dressed and put them in the TV room, keep looking. Go to support meetings. Not only do you get help on coping, but that is where you get good information about communities. Keep looking.

Our experience with Sunrise at Ivey Ridge has not been a good one. The care my loved one has received in their memory care wing has just been a huge disappointment. There have been problems with the medication service as well as just the general care. I hardly ever see any activities going on, most of the time the memory care residents are just parked in front of the TV all day. I would also really like to see them increase the portion sizes for the meals, as the residents with normal appetites end up still being hungry. I would not recommend this place to anyone looking for memory care for a loved one.

This was a very run down facility in need of major renovations. It was dark, and we were not initially welcomed by warm, smiling faces. The manager and salesperson were more than kind and welcoming, however. We enjoyed a mediocre meal. The room we were shown had been upgraded with stainless steel appliances and a manufactured wood-type floor. The one that was available had not been upgraded.

This facility is NOT a "5 star" facility! For starters the management here is very flawed. The woman running this place is very unprofessional and really has no clue what she is doing. The workers here are rude, lazy, and not mindful of humans! They do not care about your privacy! Plus, they are very unsanitary! During an emergency it took 22 minutes to get help! It's a pretty piece of property, but don't get stuck inside this place, it is a hell hole. I have even seen cockroaches!! The food is terrible, the toilet paper is so thin you have to use 50 squares just to wipe, the cost is outrageous for what you get. It is not worth it, do not place your loved ones here if you really love them!

i would give The pearl a zero if possible, from not being able to get my moms prescriptions to not setting up her room, not being able to find any clothes for her, i brought numerous times, to when she died there and the communication was horrible, her bed wasn't made and they didn't even cover her up, another man had her wheelchair. They wanted to charge us for the month, she lived a week there, all her pictures, clock, light, slippers, hairbrush were still in the dresser drawers nobody set anything up for her, she had no chair in the room, her clothes were not hung-up in the closet, she was wheelchair bound and her personal belongings were on the top shelves. They gave her psychotic meds but none of her prescriptions she was on for 20 yrs. I am beyond disappointed in the medical community and care for people with this covid, it really seems that elderly were sent to die, I have talked with others that had similar stories of different places, no meds just laid there with supposedly the worst disease known to man.

Had I known what this place really was like, I wouldn't have put my loved one here. It was a very bad experience. It's a big fancy building, but the care is a different story. The room was clean, that's about all I can say. They kept our loved one drugged up to the point that he didn't know who he was. They wouldn't let us in to see him. When he passed, they let us into the room where he was lying in bed with just a diaper on, with blood on his mouth, and a white residue on his dentures that I never could tell what it was nor would it come off.

However, within the first month of our loved one moving in, she went to the hospital three separate times. We felt she was very neglected, i would never ever recommend this community to others we were very disappointed.

I would advise anybody to check other places. The Pearl was pointed out to me because it had great reviews. During the tour it is very nice and they take you around to the part of the facility that does not have dementia, the dining facility, etc. They do not take you back to the memory care unit. Then they will tell you you can come see your loved one whenever you want and even come stay with them overnight 2-3 times a week. The first night I told them I was going to stay the night, they came and handed me a phone and some guy said I needed to leave or else they would call the sheriffs department and have me removed. They did not do anything they had told us they would do during the tour. During window visits, I always noticed he was only wearing socks. I asked where his shoes were and they said they had no time to put his shoes on. They acted like I was a nuisance. When he passed, they told us if we did not have his stuff out of his room that night that we would be charged another day. Overall, we did not have a good experience with this facility.

Was so very disappointed and disgusted with this place for my friend. Not only did they lose all of his clothing, but threatened to put him in a shelter after he was admitted from the hospital to their facility with a massive stroke and other serious concerns. Please do not send a friend or loved one to this facility. Management and staff was awful. I never write reviews but this needs to be said. No one there cared about the patients who depended on them.
