The staff genuinely seem to care about the residents and the families. The only issue we've had is with medications being filled. It is much easier on the facility to use Guardian - the pharmacy they contract with for meds. However, Guardian is expensive compared to other pharmacies and if the facility needs / can't easily locate a med (even if it is there but is in the "extra" bin) they simply order more from Guardian. If that new order is not within the parameters for the insurance, the full price gets charged. It is much cheaper for the family to manage the scripts and take them to Bayport. Also, if scripts are mailed to the resident and that resident has memory issues, the med may sit in the mailbox for weeks without the med tech knowing it has arrived. Worse, the resident may toss the script. Thus, I've found that is more time consuming but in the end it is much better to manage the scripts myself, pick them up from the retail pharmacy, and deliver to Bayport myself.

I would totally recommend bayport to others. 99% of the staff are amazing - super patient and caring. Right now they are in the midst of some major staffing changes (the director and the head of nursing services) and you wouldn't know it. My mom is getting the same level of care. I can't imagine life without these care givers.

My loved one is currently a resident at Legacy Heights Senior Living Community and everything has been very good for her so far. They love my loved one. She would like more activities, but is not really able to do too much.

I would recommend Seasons at Southpoint to others looking for memory care.

T he invoices I receive are very confusing. I have to go to someone to have them explained to me each month. I still do not see my $50 credit for late fees. I did not realize it would be an extra $[removed]/month to go from a double room to a single room. The only reason I made the change was because my husband couldn’t get any sleep at night with his roommate Too many personal items get lost/missing from his room

The facility is clean and beautifully decorated. The one room unit has the feel of an efficiency apartment in the way it is designed, instead of a single bedroom with bath. The food is nicely prepared and presented. Maintenance does a super job of addressing any issue and keeping things in working order. Staff seems over busy at times, but that may be true everywhere. Residents are treated respectfully. Move in process was smooth, but I had plenty of family to help. This facility is very close to my home which is a huge plus and in my opinion should be a big factor when choosing a place for your loved ones. It is so convenient to frequently pop in and check on mom. For our needs, Bayport is working out beautifully for my family.

It's one of the nicer ones..aesthetically, unfortunately they are in the memory care, so that probably drops a couple of points. For most part they've addressed issues that we've brought to their attention.

in assisted living memory care, family members need to have a reasonable understanding of how their loved one is going to be cared for. I unreasonably expected more interaction with the MC workers and the residence than I actually observed.

I like - in general and in terms of overall care - the value we get for the price (lower than most every place we found in the area). The least? It seems like there's a lot of turnover in the staff that works with the residents. Especially on the weekends but... in general it seems there are always/often new people dealing with the patients. Finally, the food - although the quality and variety seem fine - it seems they don't take into account the residents dietary needs... as in the case of my father - a diabetic. It seems it's like, 'one size fits all.' Most of the places we considered in this area were similar in terms of services and facilities. It's just this was the PERFECT location and the price was a bit cheaper - actually several hundred dollars a month cheaper than some/most of the places we considered.

My loved one is a resident at Morningside of Auburn. I would recommend this facility to others.

We like our room with its view of a hayfield behind us and our private patio. We are continually working with the food director to provide a quality diet. The size of the room was very important--larger than most other facilities.

I have heard they are understaffed currently in the kitchen and room -cleaning areas. The variety and descriptions of meals in their printed promotional material comes from company headquarters (Five Star) They do not follow these menus well at all.

It's beautiful and my dad LOVES the food. People are nice to him despite him sometimes bring a bit much.

My mom was in a four story resort style independent living facility with all the bells and whistles, pool, elevators, pool room, etc...and it was nice, but it was too big and not personal. I love the attention my mom gets at Bungalows. I love that there are only 35 residence at the most and they are a tight nitched community. The staff is friendly and the director, [name removed] works very hard to make sure your loved one is taken care of in the way they should be. They still have all the bells and whistles, but on one floor, close to other neighbors. If my mom is happy, then I am happy.

Our loved one has been getting served cold items and menu is repetitive. There was a resident meeting regarding these issues so hopefully will improve. Our loved one doesn't participate yet in the activities so no comment. There has been issues but they addressed and corrected them. We would recommend this community to other families.

Staff is very caring, attentive, and provide the needed support for my wife 24/7.

The cost for her care is reasonable and within budget, the rooms are large, they were very accommodating and helpful getting her moved in quickly and the nurses have been very thorough. The feel of the home is very open and like a big house for them all rather than closed off which is nice. The front desk lady isn't incredibly friendly and was very pushy about my mother in laws flu vaccine which we didn't appreciate and the front door doorbell doesn't work a lot of the time which is inconvenient because we cant come in easily. I wish they had key fobs or something to open the doors. Also, there should be more activities or church activities. The food is okay but they're not making my mother in law stick to a diabetic diet so her blood sugar is high a lot of the time and that has been an issue lately. Aside from that she loves it and is doing great.

The staff at The Bungalows are wonderful! They really care about my mom and work hard to get to really know her and meet her needs. The housekeeping is satisfactory. The facility always looks clean and smells fresh. Communication with the family is excellent. I can talk with the resident assistants or administration anytime I am there. I like it that it is a smaller facility, and ALL the staff know mom, and the family members too. The move in process went well. We brought mom to the facility about an hour before the movers were to come and load her things to be moved from her house. The staff welcomed mom with a delicious lunch, and they got her involved with an activity she enjoyed while we were moving in her things. Mom loves the food there. However, she has no appetite, and it is difficult to find foods she will actually eat. My only suggestion for improvement, taking into consideration that this is an Assisted Living level of care, would be to have a van with a ramp to make it easier for residents that use walkers to board the van for transportation to medical appointments and/or community activities. I highly recommend the Bungalows for individuals that have minimal health issues. The only drawback to the facility is that it is Assisted Living, and there is no medical care that is easy to access 24/7 within the facility. As long as there is not an urgent medical need, home health can be used to help with nursing needs and therapies.

Overall, I am happy with the people at The Phoenix at Johnson Ferry. Everyone that I have met has been extremely kind, welcoming and helpful. They have hired a new housekeeping manager, as that has been lacking. If your loved one needs special attention and extra care, I recommend paying for a private care giver to come in. They are under-staffed, as most businesses are right now. The food seems to be pretty high quality and enjoyable. I would recommend The Phoenix at Johnson Ferry for the overall value, but with the expectation that you may need to hire additional help depending on your loved one's needs.

The cleanliness and the price and food stood out. It's been a wonderful place for my 99 year old mother in law. Overall Morningside of Vestavia Hills has been a great place. The price was almost $[removed] less than her former Senior Living facility. I would highly recommend it, and have.
