I am very pleased with the facility! All the staff knew my name from Day 1! And I ran into two people I already knew before moving here! As far as maintenance...only a 4 as we could not get my A/C working for the first two weeks...and then I have a pipe not connected to anything in the closet where the hot water heater is located. But once I got in touch with the Director of the facility...the problem was taken care of immediately!!! The food would get a 5!!! It is Southern Cuisine, with several choices for each meal.

When we first moved in the food was really good. Then there were issues with the organization that owns the Lafayette. They lost a great administration group, staff and the chef. once they get a good chef and provide quality meals they will be a great place to live.

The staff has been amazing. The place is very clean and they just renovated it. There are a lot of activities although some people just stay in their rooms. Mom isn't happy with the food...it's cool and the serving size is small( According to my mother). She is talking to the chef about it ?? But my mother really likes the staff...they have been great to her

The staff is fantastic! They are helpful, and most importantly take great care of Mom. The room size is nice. The activity room and cafeteria are convenient.

The only reason 1 is a 4 is due to the length of time to fix the air conditioner. The staff are very friendly. One of the nurses I met with was very caring.

Sunrise John's creek was a 4, only because they didn’t tell me when I moved him in that they were getting sold a few weeks later. never talked to the new owners. The new owners didn't communicate and when they decided to close they really pushed everyone out. My dad did really like it there.

The care services has improved. The staff are good but corporate so only so much they can do. When it comes to the meals and dining corporates only concern about $$$ to much chicken. When you are spending what amounts to a yearly salary for a family of 4 and don't get better options, sad. 7. 4

The overall feeling, and it's close to the hospital. It feels like home; everyone is very friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff. Great exec Director. Great facility manager and activities Manager. Clean, bright facility. There is Some concern they've been without an on site Wellness Director / Nursing Director for several Months

We chose this facility because of the high rating from A Place for Mom. The residents don't always have an attendant in the dining room/activity room but especially after dinner time.

Security and safety was good. I did very much like a few of the team members there. Need to clean a bit better

Realizing all the different personalities they deal with, you can never make everybody happy. I felt like they always did their best to keep my mom happy. They are very caring people.

Super accommodating and involves family with plan of care. I would love to have monthly care plan meetings and have a more proactive plan for fall prevention and UTI prevention. Housekeeping on weekends seems a tad behind and floors are sticky in the bathrooms but nothing that I can't take care of when I am there. [name removed] is awesome! [name removed] and [name removed] activities is wonderful and keeps me involved. [name removed] is also doing a great job managing care. Keep up the great work! [name removed] from maintenance is awesome. Everyone is super kind. Moms care team and med tech team love her and I can't say thank you enough. I also want to add that my mom is recently out of the hospital. The Pearl is able to offer the same level of rehab as a nursing home or skilled rehab facility. They got the MD order and contracted the services so that mom could return to the people she is familiar with. They are the only facility in our area that has the capability of doing that. Super important for families to know that.

Overall very pleased. Staff seems caring and they appear to enjoy their work. They worked very hard to get my mother in law out of room to socialize! Medical staff is also very conscientious

The staff was very responsive when my mothers condition declined( she had been mostly independent before) and she was placed on hospice they worked very well with the hospice team and were very kind and caring during that transition.

frequent turnover so hard to answer the staff question. There are some lovely people that work there. The activity ladies [name removed] and [name removed], [name removed] in sales and the kitchen manager [name removed] and staff are wonderful. Staff morale is down due to inadequate staffing. In the past year there has been 3 changes in administration staff, which is very concerning. I realize this is a very challenging field to work in but there seems to be a problem.

My sister is in the memory care and I have great respect for the people who are taking care of her. They seem to really like her and are concerned about her. She is kept clean and that is important to us. She also seems to be content there. All the ladies who care for her seem to be gifted with mercy and compassion. A shout out to Rachel who is always patient and kind. One thing I wish could be better managed is her laundry. We have put her name on everything but seem to have lost some things. There are lots of other clothes mixed in with hers. Men's socks???? We have tried to organize her closet so it would be easier for everyone. However, that's not been too successful. There must be a better way to keep up with the clothes. Overall I highly recommend The Phoenix.

What I like the most about Myrtle Beach are the people, but that the moment I would not recommend this community to other families because of the cost.

I think there other, nicer facilities in the area - that we found when looking - but the best thing about this one, for me was/is #8 - VALUE FOR THE MONEY. I only know my Dads room. It is a one room efficiency it... adequate. Dining room adequate, choices of food adequate. They have in-house PT and regular group exercise. Contracted nursing/medical services. Good response time if/when one has complaints. Staff is accessible to talk to. I - as POA - am notified every and any time my father falls - no matter how minor or infrequent. It's happened a few times...

All of the staff at The Pearl at Watkins Centre are attentive to care and supportive during hospice process.
