I feel so fortunate that I chose Seasons for my loved one, who has been suffering from a range of dementia-type challenges, as well as from enough physical deterioration to require a great deal of personal care. What makes Seasons so comforting and reassuring is the personal and individualized attention the staff puts into my loved one's care. In particular, I credit the manager (who also works hands-on with the patients) with careful and perceptive hiring. It is not every health care-giver who can endure the often-thankless task of caring for terminal patients--much less dementia patients, who often respond to care with anger, or who refuse to be comforted. And it is not every boss who recognizes those special care-givers and can maintain a quality staff. The building and its small garden courtyard are clean, roomy, airy, and filled with light and with sights and sounds designed to make patients feel at home and bring them moments of joy. Special praise is due the activities staff, who work overtime to deliver daily, individualized, personalized stimulation to each patient. In addition, every one of my concerns is taken seriously. Even the small frustrations common to senior care centers (e.g., garments going missing in the wash), are always cheerfully and quickly dealt with.

I trust it for my mother. There were a couple of reasons for picking this community. One was that they had an opening and it was close to where I live. Her room was spacious. The food is very nice. The people are very caring.

When Mom and Dad decided to move my sister, Nancy, found Paul Hamilton from A Place for Mom. He connected us to several assisted living facilities in all size and price ranges. We chose one, my parents loved it and we're moving forward. The process was SOOOO much easier. Thank you, Paul.

The only problem we have is in the apartment the toilet kept overflowing. So building maintenance could be improved. The activities are good, they go on various field trips. The food could be improved, it's a 2.5. They could have more choices, and the quality could be better. They need more staffing, they are short staffed, they have a high turnover rate. Overall it's pretty good. I like how they are helping her adjust.

My husband and I ended up going to see Laurel at the Aria Johnson Ferry today (5/27). I like it a lot but I'm not sure I can get everything together quickly enough.

I'm very satisfied. It's very clean and the staff is very friendly. They are quick to respond to needs and requests. They do have a lot of stuff coming in and there are more activities than the last place we used. They are pretty good on communication, but there could be a little improvement, with the communication among the staff. Management does pretty good about getting back to us. The food is okay, it's much better than the previous place. We liked that they were close enough to go visit.

They are so nice and it's a very clean place. He seems really happy there, and that is the most important thing. They have great activities. The food is excellent, and they don't do personal laundry, except with levels of care. We loved the location, and their population seemed younger and more with it, and they have a large male population.

We're very pleased with the service here! We've had experience with other communities and this one is an improvement in every category. The management here are outstanding! They are personable, very active, and really know all the residents. We had quite a few tours lined up and didn't feel the need to look further after seeing Legacy Heights!

The people at Myrtle Beach Manor care very much for the residents. There is an Assisted Living wing as well as a rehab/skilled nursing wing and a memory care wing. They have numerous activities for the residents and try very hard to keep them all busy. I would recommend this location to others.

My mom's first week at Ivey Ridge went unbelievably well. She had been at another facility for 9 years so we anticipated a difficult transition. The staff has been super and very flexible so that mom gets off to a good start to her day. If she sleeps late, they still make sure she gets breakfast and will change her to the second seating lunch. The healthcare staff has been very accessible which makes it so much easier for me.

I really like this facility. The common areas were nicely decorated. There were skylights on the second floor. It really made a difference. The rooms were bright and sunny. Wish the rooms were a little more spacious. Dining room looked like a nice restaurant. It is close to my house. Staff was very friendly. It was easy to park.

Out of many tours of facilities in the Atlanta area I selected "Atria at Johnson Ferry" for my mother Florence Henderson, I need to move her here from a Memory care facility in Amarillo Texas. She was fragile, both medically and emotionally, at the time of my decision to move her here. I took numerous tours of facilities provided for me by 'A Place For Mom.' Many were certainly acceptable but the moment I entered the lighted chandeliers of Johnson Ferry Atria and spoke with the administrator ,Susan White ,I was certain that was the place for my mother. They coordinated a visit at the Texas facility to evaluate her status. Once all was in place they helped me and supported me in every detail of the move and transition. I particularly appreciated their small, 13 bed memory care unit. I could not discern any difference when I walked into the memory unit from the assisted living unit. The staff was well trained, alert, kind, and respectful both to me, mother, each other, and all the patients. I happened to be there all hours of the night and day for various reasons and no matter what time of day the staff was alert and sensitive to the needs of the community. They were professional from the administrator , nurse, the unit supervisor, to the direct care staff and the maintenance staff. Even when tough decisions needed to be made like hospital admission and finally admission to in -patient hospice where my mother passed, I felt that she indeed had a home here to help me take care of her. I never saw a negative interaction or anything that brought concern about mother's care. Atria not only consistently bright and clean but contains beautiful garden spots for quiet times and activities when you don't want to be quiet or alone. The staff knew their stuff and were wonderful. The only problems that I encountered were surrounding the changing laws in Georgia. Atria helped me to gap those problems by exceptional doctors, especially Dr Figuel, MD Psychiatrist who was exceptional in his medical knowledge of geriatric patients and their needs. It is comforting to know that such a place exists for such a difficult time in my life and the life of my family. I do hope that all those involved in mother's care remember how very much each small act can mean in such a difficult situation.

I CAN NOT SAY ENOUGH HOW GREAT MYTLE BEACH MANOR IS FOR MY AUNT AND UNCLE. THE STAFF FROM THE FRONT DESK THE AIDS, DINING ROOM STAFF ARE ALL WONDERFUL. THE FACILITY IS ALWAY CLEAN BRIGHT, LISA, THE NURSE IS ALWAY HELPFUL AND LETS NOT LEAVE OUT THE MAINTENANCE CREW AND KEVIN THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR. ALL COULD NOT BE MORE HELPFUL AND CARING. ..........THANKS MYRTLE BEACH MANOR........

My sister is acclamating nicely. She loves this place. We love it too (her sisters). It is nice, clean, the food is delicious. Service is great too. Everyone is so friendly.

Upon touring many facilities we choose the Summit because of its cleanliness, friendlness. Felt right at home the minute we walked in that when I knew it was the right place for my mom.

Excellent guide (Kevin, the assistant director) Very informative. Rooms bedroom and living room. Very clean. No smells. Menu not as varied, but good food. Older facility and very well kept up. Wide halls a plus. Barely affordable, but could be with VA benefits. TV provided and possible internet connection through Time Warner Cable. Residents pay for internet. Possibility of Dad and Mom staying in the same room. Rehab facility attached.

The first thing I noticed when I visited this community was that the residents looked happy. Some people were sitting outside in locking chairs and chatting happily. The people working there were all friendly. My relative was adamant about being capable of taking care of herself. So, I found an Independent Living apartment within the community. However, in less than 2 months, her condition worsened and it became necessary to move her into an assisted living room. Everybody there helped me make this move. The maintenance person even moved some furniture!!! I wished I could do something nice for him, but the rule there does not allow me to give anything to any particular employee there. I have been having some difficulty dealing with my relative, and the people there listen to me with patience and give me some encouraging words. They always take time to talk to you. My relative is happy with people there. She said everyone is ready to assist her if she asks anything. It has been only two weeks since she moved into an AL room, but I believe she will get used to it and get to know more people. It is better for her than living in a big house all by herself although the loss of her house and independence is very hard on her. I highly recommend this community.

It is expensive but it is what it is. We are getting good value because my dad is doing very well. They could improve on the food. They have pretty good activities, but it would be nice to see a few more for the men. They are more geared towards women. Maybe Sunday football for the guys would be nice, or just something like that.

I chose Legacy for simple reasons. It is the highest rated ALF in the county, it was quaint, homey & modern. The staff did not seem overworked and very kind, compassionate people. Legacy feels more like a resort than an assisted living facility. My Dad suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm & stroke 4 years ago. My Mom recently passed from cancer and my husband and I were not going to be able to give him the time and care he needed. He needed to come out of his shell. He is unable to make any long term memories, but it is very independent otherwise only requiring some minor queues to him get through his day. His apartment is VERY spacious and warm and he is doing well so far. There are always a few hiccups in the beginning but through open communication things are being worked out for the better. It is a learning experience for us as well as the staff. The biggest thing for me was proximity to my home. Legacy is only 15 minutes from my home which makes it easy for me to spend QUALITY time with my Dad. Ballantyne is an upscale neighborhood and now HE has a better address than we do! Take tours, ask questions, do your homework. It will help put your mind at ease. You will feel guilty at first until you see them thriving. Best Wishes.
