I would tell others to never take your loved ones to The Courtyards at Mountain View. Look elsewhere.

Very new, shiny, and nice community. The director is new to the industry and this was a downfall for us.

This community was awful. The woman who was in charge had the new guy come in and sit down with us. Every question we asked she asked him to answer and he had only been there for two days. He did call back and try to fix the situation. however, our overall experience was not good. We never saw a resident and were not allowed to speak with any other residents. We never even seen any other workers either.

The community was very lovely. We had an evaluation before we looked into Glenwood. My loved one needed more care than Glenwood said she did. My loved one was able to leave the community and was missing for many hours. They then moved her to full memory care and tried to increase the price by almost {fee removed}. We decided to move and they tried to charge tell us we needed a 30-day notice. We were told if the community didn't work we would be refunded part of our deposit. They would not refund this to us. It was a horrendous experience. I would not recommend this community to others. The sales director was amazing and I appreciated all she did and was very caring and helpful.

I would say not to go to Glenwood Village. We moved in to the community in the fall. There was no Executive Director during our move in. When a new Director came in there was a large turnover of staff. The Director promised more transparency and it didn't happen. When I would call to check on my loved one, the staff was very rude. The outside had a large amount of garbage outside resident's rooms. It was disgusting that my loved one had to wait for assistance to go to the bathroom and they fell. During this time the nurse wouldn't help with them during this time. The doctor ended up having to call for an ambulance.

The last Administrator who seemed to be great must have taken all the food with him. Since he left Dad says the menu now only gives you one option a meal, small portions, bad quality food. He said it reminded him of Food the army gave during the Korean War.

There are not equipped or have the skilled staff for dementia with behavior problems. I chose this community because I was impressed with the facility. They told me the staff have been they for years and there wasn't a high turnover. Two months after he moved in, the director quit, and new director came in and fired the entire staff and brought in all new people. I don't believe he was cared for properly. I would not recommend this community to other families.

The worst. Don’t place your loved one here. Management is horrible and they have major systemic problems. It is beautiful and is great during the week days- but the nights and weekends are a nightmare. Nights are under staffed, so the caretakers cant possibly get to everyone. Residents wondering around asking for help with no-one in sight. Care-plans never get read and the caretakers are so overworked and underpaid that they cant keep them. So they never know what to do. If you do put your loved one here, be sure to get a camera and advocate for them.

Not impressed at all. Very overpriced for the services provided. Staff is unfriendly and management never addresses problems. Place is run down, dirty and depressing. Food is not good and activities are nothing residents would enjoy. Housekeeping is extremely minimal. Can’t say anything good about this place.

Ugh! Since the takeover from Brookdale several months ago, this place has really gone downhill! The food is still good, and the place looks okay, but the services and amenities are nearly non existent! Laundry and cleaning services are spotty at best. Staff is greatly reduced, and activities are few and far between. This place IS NOT AS ADVERTISED! I will be taking my loved one out as soon as I can.

An absolute nightmare in my opinion. Mom was one of the first to move in and the place was new and beautiful. We were promised Mom would be loved and cared for and receive the assistance she needed. Unfortunately they did not realize we love our Mom very much and would visit Mom 4-5 times a week to make sure she was doing good. We went through two years of changes in management and staff and every time it got worse. We were told what they thought we wanted to hear. After we were allowed to put video surveillance in her room everything went down hill. Retaliation is to say the least. Now we had recorded proof of what goes on there. In my opinion I would be very Leary of this place. Unless your parent is totally independent, moving here could be your worse nightmare.

Don't leave your loved here. They abuse the elderly. [Name removed] known for making medications errors and is a very cold person. They need to be investigated for elder abuse by elder service. We took our loved one out before they killed them. Avoid this facility at all costs.

Don't expect much care for the close to $8000 a month you will spend on your loved one. For that price they still don't brush their teeth regularly or do much to assist your loved one with eating. And the price just keeps going up the more assistance needed. $1100 extra (above and beyond the price above) for one to one feeding. They left my loved one in their clothes all night after wearing them all day and then left them in the same clothes the next day. Our family was so disheartened and stressed out while loved one was there. Our loved ones lost 4+ pounds in first two months and was oftrn dehydrated, so our family had to start taking shifts to feed and hydrate them ourselves. Ought to be shut down by the State. Facility looks great when you tour, but it is all smoke and mirrors. Outrageously expensive for horrible care. Designed for the rich who have no family to check on them to make sure their care is being done properly. So sad, we regret ever placing our loved one there and moved them out as soon as we could.

Not a very desirable place and certainly not worth the price charged. The staff is very unfriendly. Rooms are adequate but certainly nothing nice. Food is ok at best and portion sizes are tiny. There is a lot of unhealthy fast food type served such as hot dogs, sandwiches, etc at night. Light housekeeping is exaggerating. Activities are not interesting or stimulating and mostly consistent of free things like watching tv and playing games. Place has a very definite urine odor much worse that a nursing home.

This place is terrible. My mom has been there for several months and has not gotten any of the services promised--dealing with her doctor, going on trips or other activities. They're understaffed, don't answer the phone and many of the staff are not friendly or qualified.

This is not a good place to put Memory care Patients with dementia. I also experience billing [Removed] by continuously being charged for services not provided.

I spent seven months at this Brookdale before moving to a different assisted living facility. I think I Should have moved a lot sooner The higher-up Staff is Condescending , and the caregivers don’t care about the residents they Make you Wait a Long time, usually an hour before they answer a page and then they act unfriendly, like they hate their jobs The food service is terrible and you end up waiting 45 minutes to an hour before getting served . the only thing worse in the food service is the food itself ,which is horrible I.would never recommend this place in fact I would recommend just the opposite that if you are thinking of moving to Brookdale northwest Reno. that you should keep looking because they are much better assisted-living facilities out there. First off th facility is way overpriced I stayed there for a year and had problems with disrespectful caregivers , apparently, nothing could be done about it short of me moving out which I did over time I became more and more disappointed in some aspects of living at Brookdale For one the food was often not to my liking he other residents are wonderful and the environment is very pleasant .I would advice people looking around to be very cautious because over time often you’ll find problems here Many residents complain of all different things. Some of this is just human nature I suppose , but I overheard a lot of complaints , hard to say what it means As I said by the time I left I was disappointed .Especially considering the price

We really didn't get a warm welcome here after we meet the nurse. The tour was promising but then the head nurse came in and it turned cold. She was very rude and had no bedside manner if you will. We could have even gotten a cheaper rate here but after the encounter with nurse I would never place my In-Laws here.
