The last couple of times we’ve been to see Mom, front desk was helpful, courteous, and so nice. They were organized and I appreciate that they do this over and over and over again and still wear a smile! Covid has all of us on edge and I’m thankful the staff at Hawaii Kai help to ease our anxiety!

One of the reason that I selected Oakmont for my husband was because the food looked amazing. Sadly, in the memory care section the food was always cold when served. To off set that, they offered my husband hamburgers every night for dinner, which he thoroughly enjoyed. I ran into several issues with the med techs, I would get reports from a med tech about incidents regarding by husband's behavior that were over- dramatized. When my husband was dying and death rattles had begun, I left the facility to get a couple hours of sleep, the med tech nor any staff called me when me when my husband's breathing became labored, I was only notified by hospice after he passed away. I am still very angry about this. I would absolutely recommend this community to other families though.

It is definitely a great place but if they are looking for a place, I would be conscious of the exact needs for their loved one. In memory care, everything is supervised including the use of personal items which was hard on my mom. i chose this community because it was closer to my home, it was clean and well kept, and it felt a little higher scale than others I visited. I would absolutely recommend this community, but they are a little pricey.

Room size great and very clean. Wonderful facility with all the amenities. [Name removed] gave me a great tour.

My mom loves it there and so is happy. The staff has been very good. I would prefer the price be all inclusive. They have a lot of activities offered. The area is beautiful area and near the river . The staff are very friendly. The staff are helpful if she falls. We have peace of mind having her live there , so it is a win win for our family.

[Name removed] did a great job explaining the whole process of moving in and what to expect. [Name removed] also explained how they have been dealing with COVID-19. We were very impressed with him and the community!!!

It was a terrible experience. They facility itself was beautiful and new. The food was below average The few caregivers are excellent, some were good, and some of the caregivers were just didn't do there job. They had a very high staff turn over. I had several meetings with the administration and they were way less than honest with family regarding wife's care.

Sunrise is not just a place to put your parents, it is a family organization. They all know you by name, they love you, and they love my father. It like having an extended family. The care is absolutely amazing. I could not ask for anything better. Oh my god, I can't say enough without getting emotional. The people, the care, the food is outstanding, and everything is outstanding. Don't even have a second thought, go and put your family member there, you will not be disappointed. I can sleep at night knowing that my dad is getting the all of the care and love he needs. I love this place!

They have amazing staff. The published activities aren't always the ones going on and if you loved one needs assistance and reminders to attend the activities that's not always offered. The food is fine with variety offered in restaurant style dining for those who can get there. The community is a family setting and is very sweet there.

It was a scary transition for my mother in law moving from her home and being fully independent to an assisted living community. She was able to bring her cats and she feels safe and cared for at the community and she is happy. She says the food is good, there's a variety of menu options in restaurant style dining. We chose this community because I have a childhood friend who was a nurse there and gave us a tour. The dining room is beautiful and the community had a really good feel about it . The gardens are beautiful and has a oak tree setting.

The staff were great. The director and the nurse were great. They rescued my dad from a horrible situation and took great care of him. I would give them a five star rating for compassionate and phenomenal care. They even prorated the costs to help my family and were very fair. After my father passed away, the director reached out and included my family in a staff dinner.

The waterfront property is a plus but the experience with the staff you won't find anywhere else. Very friendly and kind people. The residents look happy.

Although I could only see this facility in pictures, I talked to their sales representative numerous times, and she helped me to see through pictures and her actions how attentive and beautiful this place is. It is more expensive than some others, but shows in the quality of offerings. If you have a large nest egg for care, or have long term care insurance, please don't overlook this beautiful place. Of course people make the place in the end, but I felt like my dad would be happy here, and we worked out the costs in the end.

Walking into Oakmont of Orange, the community is beautiful. The front desk staff is always friendly and it is like walking into a luxury hotel. The community is clean, and smells fresh, unlike other communities. As a paramedic, I am very familiar with senior living communities and how they can tend to be dark or smell bad. I was immediately impressed by how clean and fresh Oakmont was upon entering. In terms of the food, they have done a good job and it seems good quality. The care giving aspect of this community is great. The med techs are very attentive, and the activities director has done a great job especially during the Covid-19 pandemic and ensuing community lock down. The staff even knows each resident by name. The administration, however, is very slow and is is currently undergoing a management company change. This has caused a lot of staff turnover in the management and this has caused a lot of errors especially in billing. They consistently send our monthly bills late and a couple of times sent them with easily correctable errors. They have also been poor with communication and have been unable to properly answer questions about my father's care. The new interim executive director, however, has done a much better job with taking the time to listen to my questions and concerns and has been much more communicative about my father's care.

I just moved my husband to Sunrise of Sabre Springs early this week. He has mild/moderate Alzheimers and could not stay in the residential community where we live. Given the pandemic, we moved in under unusual circumstances. We could not visit the facility or see the room where my husband would living. During the time that we were processing all the paperwork and getting ready to move, [name removed], the Director of Sales, guided me through every detail answering my myriad of questions promptly and giving us a visual tour of the place. She was thorough, kind and caring and I felt like I knew her as a friend before I ever laid eyes on her. She gets 10 stars in my book! We also had a chance to FaceTime with the nurse ,[name removed], and [name removed] the 4th floor coordinator. We arrived on Tuesday [date removed] before lunch and by the end of the day everyone in charge of the different departments came by to welcome us and let us know that they were available at any time to help. [Name removed], the charge nurse, was by twice that day, [name removed] from maintenance moved some furniture for us, and the chef, [name removed], arrived mid-afternoon with warm chocolate cookies right out of the oven because he heard that [name removed] loved cookies--- just to name a few examples. I am staying with [name removed] through the end of the month, in quarantine, to help him through the transition. I can say that everyone I have met is cheerful, kind and always with smiles on their faces, Even at this early date in our stay here my sense is that [name removed] is in a good place and will be well cared for. I will leave [name removed] with the confidence that our family made the best choice for him. I would recommend this facility to any family facing the decision of placing a loved one into nursing home care.

Sunrise Senior Living in Walnut Creek is an amazing place. This is one of the "nice places" to live, much different from the "bad ones". I am in the health care field and know the difference. That's why my mother lives there now, loving it. I am so grateful that they are so wonderful.

Oakmont is magnificent. The community is absolutely impeccable. It is the most beautiful place with the most beautiful grounds which are secured as well. They are such wonderful and fabulous people. You can't find better people! The staff are so sweet and so nice. My mother in law loves it there and so is happy. They offer so many activities to keep the residents engaged all day long. The units are absolutely beautiful, they are suites. They have personalized memory boxes outside each residents door so that they can easily find their rooms. They even have their own restaurant on the campus. When my mother in law had a health issue, they contacted us immediately and took care of everything. They are so on top of things.

My mom was in an another assisted living community but she needed a high level of care with memory care, and we chose Sunrise. The staff are really caring and have been really good at anticipating my mom's needs. Sunrise did a good job in making my mom feel welcome. The staff have supported my family as we are journeying through this and helping us communicate better with my mom. They have taught us how to adjust our expectations while making our visits more meaningful and less stressful for all of us. We have learned to let me mom enjoy being in her happy place. The Sunrise staff also make communicating with my mom easy through both phone and facetime visits. It is a really good value for the service they provide as well.
