It is a clean, bright and airy. With gardens to sit and visit. The facility is safe and during these challenging times of COVID-19. They are very diligent with keeping the residents safe. The food is fresh and delicious. The staff is friendly and courteous. If I could I would give it a six star rating. I researched about 20 places. Finally deciding on Oakmont of Whittier. My Aunt feels safe and comfortable. She enjoys interacting with the staff and meeting new people.

this has been the best solution to an unfortunate situation. the staff all care very much for their residents. they keep them active thruout the day, not allowing them to stay in their rooms and be stagnant. their meals are preparred by an actual chef and are nourishing and delicious. we have been afforded visiting times on a patio even during the covid issue and staff is helpful throughout the visit. we have close contact with the personal manager for his health and medications status. A+++

The initial interview and visit of the community was very informative, professional, and personal. The community created a personal care plan specific to our needs, which allowed her to have activities and socialism she desired. Negative situations became positive very grateful for the dementia care services offered.

The community is lovely here in Hawaii Kai. Surrounded by the beauty of mountains and sea. The meals are delicious and delivered to our doors during Covid-19. The Chefs and the bakers are innovative and provide us with local and international cuisine. The facility has everything I could ask for. The staff has become a part of my family.

Fullerton Gardens has been my 96-year-old mother's home for almost 4 years. The careful care and consideration for her health and comfort has been amazing. We have had experience with 3 other facilities and Fullerton Gardens has become home for mom. The leadership of the director and staff has been critical during this time of COVID. Great care has been given for safety and compliance. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

I would like to commend Hawaii Kai Retirement Management and Staff on the excellent service they are providing in these difficult times. As a retired hotel executive I know the tremendous logistics they are facing in supplying three meals a day to the hundreds of tenants in their individual quarters plus all the other services you provide. I understand that there is extra costs involved in purchasing all the meal boxes, and other disposable accessories and sanitizers which I am afraid some of our lodgers do not realize, but both my wife and I appreciate what you have accomplished. As a side note, the food has improved and we have no complaints and in fact like the food and the variety provided

I congratulate the staff at Hawaii Kai Retirement for their excellent food delivery and mail service during Covid-19. Another thing I am grateful for is the Daily News which is delivered 7 days a week to keep us laughing and sharp.

My husband and I have been fortunate enough to travel the world and taste some of the finest cuisines. The food at Hawaii Kai Retirement is worth it's weight in gold, their deserts are unsurpassed in quality. My hat goes off to the Executive Chef and pastry bakers! We enjoy the food variety, exceptional service and exquisite deserts. We are very happy here.

I’ve written reviews of my observations as it relates to the staff at FG’s and in particular, [name removed], their executive director. If you are reading this review, you are probably in the same position I found myself in about 3-years ago. The hunt for a place for Mom. Truly one of the most difficult decisions I/we (my Sister and I) ever had to make. Knowing the place that we find for Mom, most likely will be her last home. Of course, when it’s your Mom, you do the extra work, you ask the extra questions, everyone around you is being watched and judged as you stroll through your first, or even second site visit. I’d even circle back and showing up at the facility unannounced visited and toured, just to make sure folks weren’t putting on a show. As our search continued and our choices began to narrow and then it became a question of what are the distinguishing features, or attributes that separate our final selections. The feature that put FG above the pack, as it was 3-years ago and the same today, that extra feature is the feature of “Caring.” A rather simple and unassuming word, but you get the full meaning and intent of the that word when you observe and talk with staff, “caring” for your loved one, “caring” about the family and the struggles they must endure, especially in this season of COVID. A “caring” voice on the other end of the phone when you call to check on your loved one. And most recent, a “caring” strategic approach at finding creative ways for loved ones to visit during these trying times, whether it be Skype, and most recently, limited personal visits, held outdoors with staff overlooking too make sure mask and social distance measures are maintained. Like I’ve said, I’ve written reviews for FG’s before and I’ve never re-reviewed any of them, so if someone was to quiz me about what I stated in my review, all I can say is that I may not remember what I wrote, but I know it was positive, truthful and genuine and this review is no different.

Contact was wonderful in addressing all questions & providing other information I'd not thought of. Again, this is an early fact-finding mission for the "next step" in my mother-in-law's" care, but I was very impressed with the entire presentation, and feel this will remain one of the top possibilities on our list.

I continue to be grateful for the Fullerton Gardens community. From day 1 mom has been personally attended to. From the exectuvie director to each caregiver, nurses, med techs, to all staff - each encounter has been and continues to be professional and genuinely sincere and in the best interest of my mom. The facility is clean, mom is clean and cared for in a safe and loving manner. Thank you!

This community is well kept, clean, and bright. The Covid crisis has been a challenge, and while dealing with the separation from our loved one, at the same time I was appreciative that the facility has been Covid-free.

Hawaii Kai Retirement has been a blessing to myself and to our family. Dad is very happy there and enjoys the activities, talking and laughing with other residents and the meals. The staff from day 1 made him feel like a special person and we all appreciate it. He is a special dad with always a twinkle in his eye! Mahalo for everything to the Staff and Management that has made him continue his happiness after retirement.

This community has given me a new look on life after my husband died in Oct. 2007 they brought me here. My apartment is not large but all I need and pretty. The staff and wait staff fix problems pretty quickly and the food is great. Gets better every week.

My father lived in the independent living side of the Hawaii Kai Holiday Touch. One of the reasons we chose this place was due to the many activities and events available to the resident, the transportation to and from doctor's appointments and church, along with the pricing. While he was living there, the staff was friendly, maintenance was helpful, and the hospitality residents checked on my father. Before the pandemic, we liked joining the church services and the family events. I would recommend Hawaii Kai Holiday Touch as a welcoming and caring place to retire.

We chose this community because they allowed my dad to have his cat. It was light, airy and new. The biggest thing I was satisfied with was communication. I had 24/7 contact with the administration and nursing staff. They were very receptive and responsive. It seemed to me that they retained and kept really loving staff. The love and care they provided was so genuine. I would recommend it and I definitely would say go check it out. The food was good. They had a beautiful outside area with gardening opportunities for the residents.

We wanted to thank you and the staff for so gracefully and beautifully taking care of Grandma and especially all the interactions you all had with her. We loved attending all the functions throughout the year, bingo, singalongs and of course the food and drinks, Grandma so enjoyed the entertainment. We will stop by occasionally to say hi but mostly, from the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank all the staff for always keeping us posted with Grandmas ups and downs, pictures and all functions. The staff in the back building, assisted living is wonderful. [names removed] and I think I’m missing a few, are all terrific. I am so thankful they are there and take such great care of my mom.
