They need to improve their billing system. Many times the statements dont match what was actually electronically withdrawn and you can't figure it out by just analyzing the statement...had to call them about the bill many times. It is a nice, uncongested place. Initially, we thought this place catered more to independent living, but after experiencing their assisted living, their assisted living is good too.

My Dad loves it at Oakmont. He was hesitant at first, because it was something new. However, the staff answered all of his questions and has put him at ease.

For me, I loved it there. The ambiance when you are inside feels light and airy like a vacation, not dim and heavy/museum-like of other facilities we visited. Seasonal décor is festive and very clean. Most staff are very friendly. They get to know you in a first name basis. I did not experience it, but my step-mom said the waitstaff in the dining room was slow and not very friendly. When my SM was having problems with her alcoholism relapsed, the nursing staff that tended to her were caring and sent her to the hospital several times for safe measures. The nursing director I was working with very closely was let go from her position, and I did not work much with the new one. The menus always had great variety, and delightful dishes. It made me want to eat there all the time. From my experience the food was good. Every meal I had in the dining room was fresh, hot, and had good flavor, however my SM often complained the bread was hard, food was cold and she didn't like the food most of the time -- but she is just being picky. She did however love when they served brisket. The activities directors have fun games and an awesome movie theater. They have weekly outings to fun places. It's awesome when they have live entertainment. They even have fun family participation events. Though the prices have increased every year, this place was the best price and had the best facilities than other places we toured. The reasons we left was bc my SM wanted more independence, she was paying for food/dining that she rarely used - she was buying groceries to prepare her own meals instead. She felt like that's where people go live when they are waiting to die because she lost a handful of residents who had become her friends. She felt it was depressing to be around people who lost their zest for life. She's currently in an active senior community.

We chose this facility because of the value, the proximity, the staff, and the environment. They need quicker response/notification when something is not right with mom.

10 year as a resident here in Carmichael, California has a long but the [name removed] staff makes my stay better. They (Oakmont) have had an highly staff official employee.

My tour was excellent. [name removed] and the receptionist were perfect. They were so awesome. Beyond them I was impressed watching the residents doing two different fun group activities. The group leaders were also fantastic.I also spoke with very happy residents. That was so reassuring. The rooms were beautiful! The final happy note was the creative memory box pictures by the residents room doors to help them find their rooms and help others get to know them. This place is out of this world!

Most of the activities didn't happen. We chose it because it was smaller and everyone watches out for the residents.

Staff is always kind and supportive of their residents.

The facility is very nice and well-maintained. The staff is well trained and patient with the residents and their family members. My mother has been there two months and has already settled in well and says that she is happy there. They also permitted her to take her small dog with her, which gives her great comfort. At this point, we could not ask for anything more.

Clean and well maintained. Friendly patient staff. Great food. My Dad can be a bit challenging at times but he seems to have found his niche and is happy. They also uphold rules which is appreciated.

We selected a "cottage." It is spacious and comfortable. Pets are welcome. The food is very tasty and many selections are offered. The landscaping is also lovely.

Beautiful small clean facility. Ample care. Opportunity for a wide choice of activities every day. Accommodating food service. Most important this is a loving family environment where everyone knows your name and accommodates your preferences.

I will give them all a 5 for Ivy Park. The caregivers are wonderful to my mom, I've become very close to them. The receptionists are amazing too, I need to go through them to get to memory care and they know me by name and are so sweet
