I visited four of the ten communities recommended by a Place for Mom. Montecito Oakmont Senior Living was by far my favorite. This is a community that has retired, assisted and memory care available. My mother is in assisted living but it is comforting to know that if the need arrives she can get memory care with out going to another community. The presentation of this community is one of a resort hotel. It is beautiful inside and out. There is plenty of parking so when I visit or frinds visit there is someplace to park the car. There is a large yard courtyard park in surronded by the buildin wings. A pool and spa with bathrooms for convenience and for changing clothes at the pool. There are multiple activity rooms, a theatre, a library. Lots of activities, friendly staff, just lovely. I told my mom that Montecito Oakmont is were I would want to be.

Bradford Square was the perfect choice for out parents. The staff is warm, caring & professional. Our parents have adjusted well, which we were concerned about. We would highly recommend Bradford Square.

Very nice and clean building inside and outside, friendly staff. Great location. Great view while eating at the cafeteria area, Food was very good. You get a nice menu to select from.

The staff member who showed us around was very friendly and knowledgeable. She seemed to know most residents by name. The units were more spacious than some other facilities and had more storage space. There is no additional onsite storage, but there's a privately-owned storage facility right across the street. Our only disappointment was with the meal service. The service was slow (considering we were "special guests") and the food was only so-so.

[name removed] was awesome. They are in transition of ownership; two key people left during our onboarding process. It was unsettling, but understandable. We are pleased with the attention the new owners are giving the place and very happy with the care giving staff.

Delightful staff Residents and many pets seemed happy and at home. Too expensive for us. Very lovely residence Organized and safe setting.

The management company gives different information on the tours then the actual reality. For example they told me they had nursing staff for 16 hours per day and the actuality is only 8 hours. The tour people do no know the ins and outs of the property and need to be educated better. The in house staff is very nice though they are still getting oriented/growing pains as the building is new. Apartments are very nice and the high floors have great views. The food is ok. But I think compared to other facilities it is very good. I think this will get better with time.

The room is great. Caregivers are very good. Communication with administration is just okay. The activities are a little dull. No prizes at Bingo, the facilitator sort of goes through the motions. Trivia is a boring activity more like a homework assignment. The activities could be improved. The facilities are well kept, pretty gardens.

My dad has a studio, and it's a great size. It comfortably fits a California King bed, a nightstand, dresser and recliner. The staff is generally very nice, but there's too much turnover. The pay is too low to keep good people. The facility is very nice and clean and there are a lot of activities that are engaging. The food is pretty good, but I think the sodium level is a bit high, so I have had to address that.

Everything seems to be going well. I understand that there are lots of activities there. The food is good. The 'bistro' provides additional food options and flexibility.

Nothing in life is totally perfect. First impression is the place is clean and well kept. The staff always greets the residents by their name. The residents and staff are smiling and happy. Food is good as i have had several meals with my mom so i know first hand. My mom goes almost daily to the chair exercise class among some of the other activities on site. She has already made friends and has joined the crochet and gardening clubs. There is also a concierge dr and on-site physical therapy so residents do not have to be transported to appointments. My mom is adjusting well to her new surroundings and really likes her physical therapist. Thank you in helping find a place for our mom.

My sister in law is in Memory Care. The staff is attentive. Food is mediocre. She's in a nice private room with a suite mate next door and they share bathroom. The facility is beautiful. However I wish there was more physical activity- daily exercise etc. for memory care. Given this is the 3rd place she has been, Ivy is the best overall. Downstairs dining room is open to families and we have taken her downstairs for meals together. Not many places to wheel her to for outings so location is a little removed from Any opportunity for going out. She is unable to walk and has put on a lot of weight from her sedentary lifestyle. But I have no complaints. It's expensive and no doubt will keep going up.

#1 is 4 due to their policy change re my friends cats. It was unusual they let [name removed] have her cats but they are claiming now the cats are peeing everywhere and throwing up and are ill. It's bogus, they are just changing policy. She is in the memorycare unit which is very expensive and you would think it for the price it would be nothing to remind her to clean the cat boxes everyday. #2 is 5 #3 is 5 #4 is 4 (due to #1) #5 is 5? #6 is 4 #7 is 5 based on another residents friends report #8 its hard to understand why senior care costs so much but all facilities I have been to charge about the same and Ivy Park at Piner is new and clean. I do not have full experience with others.

Unfortunately, [community removed] was bought out by Ivy Gardens a few months after my sister-in-law was placed there so it is no longer that facility name. Some of the staff have stayed some new staff all in all the facility works for [name removed]. Now it is on the pricey side to be honest, but I guess that's the nature of facilities they've got. Some nice activities for the residence. My sister-in-law has blended in well she does like her room, which is just spacious enough for her. She has a private area it's good all around

The staff is very kind, caring, and attentive, and the facility is clean and well-maintained. We experienced a few minor issues related to medication management, but overall we've been happy with the care provided. I gave the community a 4-star rating because I don't have another community to compare it to, and there's always room for improvement. Overall, I would definitely recommend this community to others.

We were able to move my Dad into a memory care apartment a few days after touring the facility. The memory care staff is friendly and supportive. They engage with the residents. Minor issue has been laundry. The laundry goes out and are returned clean but sometimes other resident clothes are included with his.

The staff are helpful and the caregivers are wonderful. Recently, they are short on staff so some of the services were delayed. They are a variety of good activities and events for family to join in. The food is good, not as great as it was before. The place is clean and well-maintained. The big negative part is that the yearly rent increase is high.

My mother received full-care services at Ivy Park La Palma, including transfers with a Hoyer lift, feeding, changing, and all of her daily care needs. The staff was incredibly compassionate, attentive, and caring. They took such good care of her that I felt comfortable enough to travel, knowing she was in good hands. Her room was always clean and spacious. There was also a shared common area between neighboring rooms with a refrigerator, sink, microwave, and plenty of cabinet space, which was very convenient. In addition, there was a shared living room with a television where residents could gather and watch TV together if they wanted. The nurses were very attentive and stayed on top of everything. One thing I especially appreciated was how every staff member greeted my mother whenever they passed by. They would say her name, say hello, gently pat her arm, ask how she was doing, and see if she needed anything. Since my mother was almost nonverbal, that kindness and personal attention meant a great deal to both of us. The activities I personally witnessed included bingo, and staff members patiently helped residents who couldn't move their bingo markers on their own. They also hosted monthly entertainment, including Elvis impersonators, jazz singers, and themed events that families were always welcome to attend. My mother also received physical therapy every day and speech therapy once a week. The only drawback was that speech therapy wasn't available more often because they didn't have an in-house speech therapist. Overall, I had a very positive experience with Ivy Park La Palma. The caring staff, attentive nurses, clean environment, and genuine compassion they showed my mother gave me confidence that she was receiving excellent care.

Now that my sister is in Ivy Park, I feel she is in a safe environment. She would not be safe living alone in her home. She couldn't walk or cook for herself. My sister's needs changed dramatically after arriving there (no fault of Ivy Park). She lost her ability to walk. The monthly cost went up dramatically (no fault of Ivy Park). They have been very proactive in making sure she has PT several times a week at the facility (Medicare). Hopefully she'll gain some mobility. I was able to take a 2 week vacation and not constantly worry about her wellbeing. Of course I called (FaceTime) regularly to try to ease her concerns and help her understand & perhaps change her "expectations". Sometimes I think she expected it to be attentive like a hospital. While on vacation, there were several incidents and they kept me informed. I really appreciated that.

We like the facility itself, the food and their staff members. Based on the experience we have had, we would recommend Ivy Park at Hayward to other families.
