I was very impressed. Very clean and very nice. Very nice apartment situation. They just seemed like they really cared. They were very personable. The residents seemed relaxed and easy going. While I was talking with the marketing director, she knew everyone who walked by and engaged with them. They are there to serve the residents. Kind and respectful care.

I have to go by my dad's satisfaction of the place. Once he got settled in he is giving it a 5! I've not seen him this happy in a long time. It took him a little while to setting in but it's really great now. He's pretty outgoing and pretty social so he likes all the activities they have there. They have a social happy hour everyday, Monday through Friday. They've got the typical rest of the amenities and entertainment that other places had too. They've treated him well and he's very very happy with all the resources there. He had a couple issues when her first got there with adjusting and changing his meds and they were great with him. They weren't afraid to call him out on a few things which helped us a lot. My brother and I appreciated that - that was what they should have done. Another thing liked was the woman who I was talking to there was very frank. She would say regardless of where you go, in general, here's what I strongly suggest. It's all kind of a sales pitch - I realize that - but it was very helpful. The location was great too because it's basically right outside the gate of my dad's old leisure world community so it's easy for his friends to stay in touch.

My journey for my Dad started with getting him in an assisted living place for he was experiencing the begining stages of dementia he is 82. Toured a couple of different facilities before Oakmont. As my family and I were concerned if he was really ready to leave his home it was about 4-6 weeks his dementia went to moderate. He was not a candidate now to do assisted living for needed more care and needed to be in a memory care environment. I had watched a commercial with Joan Lundun about A Place For Mom. I contacted them through the website and they are such amazing/kind people who care. And also all the providers in the areas I was looking in called me to see if I wanted to tour their property and what could they do to help with my Dad. Even when I do chose Oakmont the other care properties called me to follow up on my Dad and if there is anything they could help me with. Made me feel more at ease about the whole experience and all the caring people out there. Oakmont has a nice at home feeling. The staff from the front desk to their whole team is outstanding and caring. Cassia who I toured with is so patient and never feel rushed. Ines the Director in Traditions where my Father is an exceptional caring person and for her I dont think is a job for she seems to really care and enjoy her residents and enjoys interacting with them. I cant say enough about Oakmont I could keep going on and on. I did check out another 6 properties that have Memory Care and there was not even a second thought to have my Dad anywhere else. His memory is actually getting a little better for all the residents are involved in activities everyday and interacting with people. My Dad says he loves it there and I did a great job picking Oakmont and that he doesnt feel alone anymore. And he is eating great. I suggest you also tour the property and hopefully feel the way I do. :)

Sunrise is a beautiful, well kept facility with a very helpful, friendly staff. The staff has made my Mom's adjustment and mine very easy. Mom is enjoying the quality care she is receiving and I am enjoying the peace of mind that she is in a caring, safe environment.

My mother needs memory care so that's where the cost really comes in. There is a base rate and then you get charged for services, which I understand. We were pleased with the way they handled things. Originally they evaluated my mom as needing higher care and then they reevaluated and actually lowered the cost. They initiated that on their own which was good of them. I think they're very very good. They're going through some staffing changeover, moving them from one facility to another in the same organization but they've replace the old staff with good people. So far, to my knowledge, it's good. My sister is there almost daily and she's been very very pleased with all the events and activities but my mother, because of her level of comprehension, is not as active as some of the other people.

Too Expensive BUT a very nice place

That was just fantastic. It seemed really nice. It was like a resort, you know? But it was very expensive because they charge for care and they also charge for the place where you're living. My mother would end up upstairs where people are a little farther along in their dementia and Alzheimer's. At the time my mom was walking and everything and we felt like she would alienated there. It seemed like a lovely place if you have the money for it.

I thought it was incredible. This was not for a parent, just someone I was taking care of and I have to say the care was wonderful. They accommodated her needs and allowed her to say in a room that was better for her, in independent living when she was really closer to assisted living. They managed all of that so I have to give them a lot of credit for that. The activities were fine. She didn't take advantage of many of them but she take advantage of some. They lots of different options. I know they had movies and a few other things but I'm not sure of everything they had. I have no suggestions for improvement. Their ability to accommodate our needs was incredible and their willingness to adjust things was great. She's a very picky woman and they were able to manage that. I thought they were excellent. I was very impressed. I would recommend them.

I did place a client in Sunrise but unfortunately she was only there for a very brief time. She went back home with hospice and has since passed away. I am familiar with the folks over at Sunrise though. I think it's an excellent place. I'm very impressed with their personalized approach to appointing a team of people to work with a resident because then they know the resident very well. So there's a consistency with the team that works with each resident.

Do I fee that every place is overpriced? Yes. Do I feel they are comparable? I guess. They charge the same as everyone else so they're actually great. I like that the staff is very engaged. I like that there's a wide variety of activities - music, art, baking, walks, my mother goes on excursions but I'm not sure where she goes. It's just a very engaged place. There's a lot of staff, not just your minimum. There are a lot of volunteers too. It's a very vibrant community.

My girlfriend is no longer there but it is not because of anything that Fullerton Gardens did wrong. From my standpoint, because of her condition, it was just not the right place for her. She was a walker and wandered a bit and I didn't take that into consideration when I chose this place. She had a fall and had to go to the hospital. I would have liked her to go back to Fullerton Gardens but because of her condition I decided it was just too big and to noisy for her there. I wanted more of a secluded, home-like setting. Fullerton Gardens was excellent, just not right for us.

I think they're doing a very good job. Mom is very happy there. I think she's getting everything she needs. She's says the food is kind of bland but I think that's probably good for her right now. She's not losing any weight or anything like that so despite what she says she's eating. They have quite a few activities. They have a list every morning that they pass out of things like going on walks. They have more than enough to keep some one like her busy so the activities are very sufficient.

I am very impressed with Sunrise at Oakland Hills and their staff. The environment is welcoming, calming and well maintained. The entire staff is dedicated to the residents, their needs and the family's needs. From the first visit, I felt very comfortable, supported and assured that my Mother would be well cared for. Their sense of urgency around my needs, their support during the move-in and assimilation period have been incredible. I am so happy we found Sunrise at Oakland Hills. Our experience has surpassed Mom's previous care she received at a competitor. I highly recommend this facility if you are seeking a location that is well staffed with professional, experienced, competent staff who love their residents and it shows when you enter the community.

I like that it doesn't smell like urine like a lot of other places do. Their bedrooms are separate. It's got a newer, nicer atmosphere. It doesn't look like a hospital like a lot of places do.

This one was very nice but again, higher end dollars. It's comparable to the others we looked at in what they offer and the price but we found one that would give us a discount on the first month.

I'm not paying for it, it's my brother-in-law that's paying, but I know they gave us a deal for this first month. It's sort of half price because they're sort of evaluating my sister right now. It will go up in price if we leave her there. We really don't know what her needs are going to be so that's why we opted for this. I think everything is great. My sister is in the memory unit. There's assisted living and the memory unit. Tomorrow they're providing transportation for her to her doctor's appointment, so that's good.

Perfect place for my Father. Staff very friendly and always smiling. Clean, good food and the rooms were the largest of all facilities I visited. Plus the cost was less. Robin is a sweetheart and very genuine. This was our choice; however, dad wants to be in AZ. so the search continues there.

I really liked it but it;s just so expensive. They have a third neighborhood called terrace club and its an in between reagular assisted living and memory care; so they handle a little bit of memory issues but no wander risks or outburts or anything like that. It was nice, there was a maximum of 25 residents and always at least 2 caregivers, sometimes 3, and they had their own kitchen and living room, we got really spoiled but cost wise it was difficult. It was so much like having my mom living in a home with a family and with someone who cares. I would call Carolyn, the concierge, and she would recognize my voice and talked to me and would make sure my mom was ready when I'd come to visit.

What a wonderful community! The staff and residents were so friendly and helpful. It is a beautiful setting with an excellent dining room and good food. The apartments were very spacious and would make it easy to adjust to living there.

They provide excellent care for those in need. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. They are very outgoing and everyone here is just so welcoming. They are very accommodating and really try to help as best as they can. I am very pleased with them and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone.
