The room is too small. Otherwise not bad. Literature says there are other apts.

Minus their ability to communicate what they offer there, I think the facility itself is very nice. I think they do not sell it correctly to people and do not explain what it covered and what is not. I felt like they just wanted to get someone in there. Their office staff just needs a little bit of help.

Liked the smaller eating areas that were very kitchen like, did not like the out of room shower rooms, the curtains on the bathrooms. Did not like the worn look of the facility but the staff seemed pleasant and helpful

Their sales counselor over estimates their abilities and then the nurse says oh no, we can't do that so there's not a lot of communication there. They assured me that they could handle my mom and then she was kicked out nine days later. It was such a waste of time.

I would say the cleanliness of the facility was fine but the cleanliness of my mother was not. They didn't give her a bath until I found out she wasn't getting one and had to ask for it. I think the cost was fair although there was $300 that was stolen from my mother's room. They claim it was because she went over the market place across the street and they must have taken it from her there but I don't believe that. She was only there for a couple of weeks for a respite stay. She had packed all of her stuff two days before we had come back from vacation, ready to leave. Kathy Wiggs, I think she's the director of community relations, had surgery so she wasn't there for most of the time my mom was. I don't believe if Kathy would have been on the scene I would have had the problems I did. She was a real good person and she's even been over to the house a couple of times since mom's been home. I thought that was very nice.

This place is not top notch, but better then I expected. Most rooms are studios which are fine. the one bedrooms suite are waaay too $$$ for what you get. however the big plus with this place, is that my 83 year old mom's sister is here. she is 92. she would love to have her there. the place was clean, no bad smells and the price is right..however Marshall was not able to meet us and had to leave, so another person took us around. got to see everything, and another plus, my mom's dog can live there with her. so although i give it a fair rating, its more simple and that is what she needs. we'll see how it goes!

It seems to be a good community but they are more expensive then comparable communities. We would be paying $200-$300 more for a semi private room then we are paying for a private room at another community. Their prices go up at least 3% every year so the prices get higher each year. This is a higher level of care type community that leans more toward assisted living. It is a very nice community just wasn't what we were looking for.

Marshall was so nice, but this had by far the least amenities and I did not like that there was no kitchenette at all. They seem to care about their residents, but I would prefer to see a little more updating.

Older facility, clean but definitely showing some wear and tear. Quite, smaller total residents then Emeritus and Sunrise. Nice room layouts.

We like the place, director was helpful and seemed to want them to come live there.

Like this place ok--$3500 for a room for 2 whether you have dementia or not. They move both people to the dementia wing when dementia is too bad for the same price.

Tallest facility. Most urban area (which Mom would enjoy when she visits.) On busy street (SE 17th Ave) Nice residential neighborhood behind the facility.

The website says "around the clock staffing and security." That would be good if it were true but the fact is that there were two breakins in a period of two years and one resident got assaulted. Plus they are often short staffing and there is no management of the staff. We pray that nothing happens to our loved one at night. The staff are hard to reach and sometimes not even awake. The management has no idea or don't seem to care. It is sad. News about Kokoro that we should know about often does not get reported in a timely fashion, if we hear about it at all. We hear an earful of excuses, like there is not a full staff or someone was on vacation for two weeks or someone was sick. Well guess what? There are residents who need care. We hear about how medications are not properly administered and residents land in the hospital. Oversight is really lacking. Responsibility is not taken. The good reviews of this place are from people who are independent or probably not involved much in the care of their family member. We on the other hand have a lot of concerns.

Where do I start very pleasant environment. To much rotating staff day shift vs night shift. No one keeps track or relays info to next shift. Not enough dementia patients occupied or active need more PT programs. However, better than some other local communities.

Just talked to my mom again about the long wait time before someone came to assist her to the bathroom. She is on her 4th UTI and has been there less than a year. Many good things about the place, but they should hire separate staff for the dining room instead of using the CNAs on staff because the CNAs are tied up during each meal time, unable/slow to provide assistance if needed.

It's a terrible place. They lost all of my mom's meds & miraculously they reappeared when I threatened to file a complaint against them. Mom went weeks without her meds. The food is shameful. Its an awful place that should be shut down. I did make a complaint with the ombudsman

The facility was good at first, but they need to work on improving the care and attention that they give their residents.

The name of the place I am living now changed ownership and they have raises the rent. it's a profit organization.

We lost money by signing up with Summerfield but then needing to change to a closer facility. They said we signed and we were not refunded thousands of dollars. He never even moved in to the room. I still can't believe it. It was an extremely emotional time and we felt pressure to sign quickly. It may have been in writing, but it still seems highly unethical. They were eager to take my mom's money, but not to give it back. On the positive side, it felt like a clean and pleasant facility, and the staff were friendly.
