I love my apartment! Change over in staff is distressing. When it was Lighthouse it felt like home and it feels less so now. I'm not happy with the change in how the fees are done.

The sales person that took us on tour seemed to be insincere. They did have a nice offer going when we toured, however the toilet in the apartment they showed us was dirty. There are yellow chairs when you walk in and you are able to see the dirt on them. I am not sure about how well the housekeeping staff are. I did not think this was the right fit for my loved one.

New Perspectives has wonderful caregivers for the residents. When we first moved in it was a hard transition for our family, after our adjustment we have grown to appreciate all the staff for the care provided. Everyone was so pleasant and kind to us all. I would have liked to have seen a contact list made of pertinent phone numbers when we moved in.

I'm sure the place will look great when it's done, but when we toured they were in the process of renovating. This made it difficult to tour and it was not the best impression walking in the front door for the first time.

We really liked the location and the common space. It as nice to see residents socializing in the bistro. The apartments we toured had lovely lake views and we felt would meet Mom's needs except for the kitchen which had no place for food preparation. In my opinion all it was good for would be heating up a frozen dinner. The other drawback was the walking trail, which we didn't look at, but were told circled the building which would make it too short for my mother's needs. We were kept waiting for 20 minutes for our scheduled appointment which cut short our time to ask questions. (The sales person called in sick. We were seen by the executive director who had no notes from my conversations with staff.)

The tour of New Perspective by [Removed] was great! [Removed] was excellent at sharing the Assisted Living environment at New Perspective and answering our questions. Disappointment was the limited kitchen (only a mini refrigerator and no ovent). It did have a microwave included. Overall, New Perspective was an impressive facility for Assisted Living. I'm only giving it a 'fair' rating since we have only had a first tour.

This is a lovely facility overlooking a lake and the staff seemed attentive to the residents. When I visited, many of the residents seemed to be mostly of the more lower functioning than my mother is. I don't know that she would fit in this population well. Just where their residents are in their continuum right now. They did have a nice activity program, and the apartments were nice. The food was not good, and served on white serverware, which is difficult for people with older eyes to see. Most memory care areas serve food on colorful plates and dishes to help them discern what and where the food is. They served white clam chowder in a white bowl, whiteish fish with whiteish scalloped potatoes on a white plate. Ugh. So monochromatic! Even on a colorful plate that would not be appetizing. I had an alternate choice, since I don't care for fish or seafood. Not very good. I did enjoy speaking with two of the residents, and they said they find it ok there, three squares and a room.

It is still a work progress for my husband here at this community. He has had a few falls, and now is in the hospital. I do feel that this community is under staffed at times. He has gotten lose a couple of times. The staff is good, and they have been very responsive with their help. They are also friendly and helpful. We are still working on some things. So far I'am still assessing the situation.

It's okay, there have been a few issues here and there. They are nice enough, and there are a few really, really good med techs there. . Response times are little slow they quote 10-15 minutes, but it can take longer. We never really got an orientation, which makes it difficult to know what all the procedures and expectations are.

Mother has been there One year. The initial price given per month was reasonable. Evaluations are conducted every six months. This is where you may find they start raising the level of care points (added expense), not including the annual cost of living increases. Light House of West Bend provided a forecast statement demonstrating my mothers finances would sustain her for estimated 20 years. With all the annual increases, that estimate is in the range of 4-6 years! Nice place, good staff, food choices good, cleanliness average to above average, non-refundable sign up fee, level of care questionable given the expense. Lots of activities, however not all residence are able to participate for many reasons. Your monthly payments are subsidizing those that are able or want to use these additional services. It is my experience, they will sign you up at a lower rate, and then start raising the care levels once your loved one has made adjustments, and settled in. There is a name for this salesmanship "bait and switch" Expense increase July 2014 to July 2015: 56% !!!

The place is decorated to sell. There are free ultra fancy all-food and drink inclusive big parties several times a year with music and novelty for residents and their families. (The management asks for a can of food donation to food shelf each gala, so they likely deducts these $6K expenses from taxes.) There are double gas fireplaces flanking the entry. The facility is clean and well-maintained. The care services are hit or miss. If you get a good resident assistant/aid your family member is lucky. 99% of the aids are [removed] that are difficult for people with Alzheimer's and/or hearing problems to comprehend. This is a barrier. They check on residents a lot which is great. The dining room is nice but the quality of food has gone down since the higher-paid chef was let go. The "menu" is pre-ordained by financial management/oversight at maximum cost-cutting. Most dinners they have 1/2-1 sandwich (!?!) with a cup of soup and ice cream or cookie. Residents can enjoy a glass of wine or beer with dinner which is rare in Assisted Livings and a positive feature. All the residents have a beeper necklace to call for help which is a plus if the resident knows how to use it. The activities daytime are bingo and chair exercise, with a movie at night. Once or twice a week there is a musical guest which is excellent. There are off-site field trips once a week which few residents take part in, unfortunately. The staff turnover is mysteriously rapid. There have been 4 SETS of 1 nurse and 2 LPNs who have come and gone in the last 3 years. There have been 3 different activities directors in the last 3 years. The dining room staff is not paid enough to support themselves and a child so the employees have to rely on public assistance from the government. The owner makes 6 figures. The biggest complaint is the billing. It is shady and goes up rapidly. They have a care level form that is hard to decipher and even though the services are similar for many residents they find ways to increase the bill yearly. My parent's bill has doubled in the last 3 years without a distinguishable change in the level of services. You don't really have any say in this, even if you provide input to the management staff, so expect an ever-increasing bill. You have to monitor to make sure cares are being done, such as baths, tooth brushing because if you're not watching it might be skipped.

It is a simply beautiful place. There has, however, been a few issues with the care services as I feel they are understaffed and perhaps the staff is not adequately trained. We have had a problem with them following through with what they promised us on the amount of care that my sister is receiving. It often takes 45 minutes or more for them to get to my sister when she buzzes needing help. They have acknowledged some areas where they can improve and seem to be working to make the needed improvements, so I will give them credit for that.
