Most impressive of all the paces we have seen to date that has the elderly waiver. Open, airy, cheerful with adequate sized living areas.

Some areas smell of urine but not in overall community. The staff are wonderful - very attentive and engaging! The food I have experienced at events has been good with nice presentation. Daily food seems to be fine. I've not had any of it but seems to have a nice variety and all is eaten. Activities have been hit or miss. That is an area where there has been turnover. When there is someone there for that function they are engaging with the residents. When there was no one in that role very little activities. The newest activity people are good with the residents and get them involved and include them in the level that residents are able to do. Lately there has been more outside entertainment that has been brought in. They were willing to work with us when we challenged the level of care that was being provided and priced it accordingly. Overall very pleased with moms care and feel comfortable that she is being taken care of when we are not there visiting

Our experience has been really good. We chose this facility because the location was close to me and also they had availability when we needed it. We had heard from some friends with parents there that recommended it as well. I am hoping they will be able to use the Minnesota waiver when the time comes, they have not approved it yet but are in the process. The staff is very attentive and friendly to all of the residents. I feel comfortable having my parents here. I would recommend The Waters of Oakdale to others looking.

I would recommend you check out New Perspective for your loved ones. They were willing to work with us in getting my loved one into the community and assisted us in getting my loved one settled into the community. Some of the activities available are bingo, music, crafts, shopping, restaurant visits, and more for the residents to choose from. Housekeeping, the room, and changing of linens are included in the monthly fee. They are also checking my loved one's blood pressure and weight. There is a basic meal available; however, there is an anytime menu that the residents can choose from. They do have specified meal times. There are choices for the apartments that some include washer and dryers, and different layouts available.

What sticks out about New Perspective for us is the fact that it is a smaller facility with less residents which is something we liked. It has been a really good experience so far.

The staff are very friendly. My loved ones tell me all the time how much they love the food. They enjoy the activities, especially bingo and music. They enjoyed working with [name removed], the admissions person. And they really like the The CNAs and housekeepers as well. Really the only negative thing is their follow-through isn't the best at times. I would like to see that improve.

The food is great and they have an extensive variety on the menu. They do go out of their way to make sure residents get what they want which is great. They offer a lot of activities, dad goes to swimming, happy hour, and bible study. It is a great value for the money especially for what is offered, but I do know that prices are about to go up. I would highly recommend them to other families looking.

We really liked New Perspective Senior Living, it was our second choice. The facility itself was beautiful and it looked like a wonderful option.

This is a good place to be. This is a mixed community. They have a lot of activities and things to do here. They have things like bar night and have sing a longs with popcorn and watching sports and getting to know each other. They also have a heated pool, they have a bistro, card games and karaoke night all kinds of things for the residents to do.

The community was neat and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The community felt like a family. Overall it was a great experience I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

My mom is not as happy with the food as she was at the previous place. She is now at the place she needs to be to get the care she needs. We like the size of the community. My brother liked the size of the common areas and the layout. Sunrise offered the best level of care that my mom needs. We look forward to being able to use the outdoor space and the patio. The community is right next to a park.

My husband and I have lived here for a little over one year. We both like it and pray that we can maintain our health care level which will allow us to stay. The food is good, the activities have something for everyone, and I have even taken the bus to shop. I am taking a physical therapy which is helping me feel better. The thing I really like is the quiet. You never hear anyone in the halls talking. I feel very safe. The care givers are wonderful (some are more caring with a shoulder to cry on or cheer you up when that is what we need). Any maintenance issues are solved in a timely manner and the front desk staff is always helpful. We are always greeted with a cheery smile. The management staff is willing to listen and willing to try and make something better. I have only complained about one tiny thing and it was corrected almost the next day. And one other thing I love, is everyone knows my name.

This applies to about six months experience with the memory care unit. Staff was very caring and effective in maintaining a fine quality of life during the stay. Fine physical therapy and activities kept the patient active in all the important ways. Supervision of the patient's own care was very good. Safety was paramount, so thee were no concerns there.

We are so grateful to [name removed] and her group at New Perspective. Mom is doing well there and she is well taken care of. I love the staff, food, activities, and oh so clean!! I would highly recommend!!!

Last June my Mother was admitted to Sunrise of Golden Valley's memory care unit. At the same time she was put under hospice care as her physical health was rapidly declining. This was an extremely emotional and traumatic time for her and for my family, however, we were thankful to find a place that was willing and able to care for our Mother who suffered with the terrible effects of Alzheimer's disease. With the support of the Sunrise community and North Memorial Hospice staff, we were able to move my Mother within less than a week from her family home of 40 years to her final home at Sunrise. As we held vigil for my mother, we saw that both the day and night shift caregivers were exceptionally compassionate and attentive not only to our Mother’s needs, but to our family’s as well. For this, we will never be able to express our gratitude fully. Sunrise of Golden Valley helped ease the pain of transition for our Mother with love. We would recommend their facility to anyone looking for a warm and home like place for their loved one to live and spend the their final days surrounded by people who truly care.
