I really liked Morningside but my mom picked another place. I was really impressed with them and I though that would have been a good place for my mother.

I chose this community for my mom because the staff really pays attention to the residents. They truly go out of the way to make the residents feel comfortable, wanted and cared for. They do have a library on site but could use more variety, currently have lots of readers digest type books. When I visit I don't see a lot of activities going on that are more stimulating then bingo, they could use a little more creativity with activities. They could get the residents a little more engaged in the activities. The location of this community was really good for my mother because she had been living in the area for over 50 years so she really feels comfortable in this community and has lots of support.

They have a friendly people that really seem to care and take interest in the residents. The grounds are maintained and have plenty of shade, the food is good I liked it when I ate their as a guest. I just overall refreshing.

So far it's really great - except my Aunt says the food is not good. And she says her new friends complain too. The people are amazing and kind. Especially the director. The aids seem to want everyone to rush thru meals so they can clean up and be done. It makes the client's nervous. The rooms are a good size for what this community needs. They have a small safe kitchen with small fridge and microwave, Large closet and decent size bathroom. Love the little courtyard. Its safe and enclosed and they can use independently. The activity director is a dear hart who seems to be in exactly the job God wants her in.

I would give it 4 stars, I would have given it 5, but my mom consistently tells me the food is not good. The staff is great and I think that apartment is a really good size. She's in a one bedroom. Her bathroom is huge and a huge closet.

The grounds, apartments are spacious and lovely. The kitchens are big and bathrooms double now sink so great place for husband and wife. A single would prefer smaller bathroom and kitchen. I was disappointed in no walking group. The site is on walking trail to Lake Pine. More getting elderly up and moving events. Mil didn't like food and choices. I ate some of it and it was fine but larger retirement communities have more options.

The staff put up with a ton of negativity from my father in law. They always maintained a positive attitude. The food was wonderful! Very tasty and a wide variety. The staff and administrators went above and beyond to try and extend his care before my father in law had to go to memory care.

It was close to her family and also she has a family member there already. I would recommend to others.

It's a very caring place but perhaps more variety in activities and outings.

They are definitely trying to maximize their rent amounts charging before u even move in was my biggest issue. The community is very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They didn't have to care for my dad. Again the push for money kind of irritated me. Dad loved the options and chooses. There are plenty of activities there. I think relatively fair price but I think overall all independent living over priced

I recently toured Pinewood Square with my Mother and thought this was a vey nice community. The facility was clean and the staff were welcoming and friendly. I liked that it was a smaller community giving it a more personal feel. We interacted with several residents while on the tour and everyone seemed friendly and happy.

The staff was friendly. Everyone I have spoken to is every friendly, They check on mom regularly. The atmosphere was welcoming. Other facilities to me wasn't welcoming. Also Hammond square had fewer residents than other places I looked at.

We are overall pleased with the Legacy. What we pay is more than reasonable. Unfortunately we just experienced a staff change. We have not met many of the new staff. We live out of state so we will meet them shortly. The food looked like things I would prepare. We wish for some more activities for memory care. It is always clean. But no place will be perfect. But overall we are very pleased with our relatives care. We inspected other facilities and the Legacy won us over.

Apartment sizes are good and configured well for the furniture folks need. Staff is professional, responsive and kind. Facility size is small, which suited my mom. Overall, well-maintained. Food is not good, but they are trying to improve. My mom has been there 3 weeks and is very happy.

They have been very kind and supportive of me and my mother. Mom has seemed to improve since being there. She seems to be more settled and not as confused or angry. The only issue at all has been her not being able to call out on the phone or other family to reach her, without me being there with my phone. I do understand with the calls, that part of the issue is how busy the staff is, and is understandable.

Promised and told thing (marketing) but not really true ie: -Changing bedding -Cleaning rooms activities -Health maintenance like weigh ins

The staff seems engaged and enthusiastic to be there. I'd like to see extra serving hours for meals, particularly breakfast as their schedule doesn't accommodate late risers. Also, some formal way to request services beyond tracking down staff. Something as simple as a mailbox to accept service requests would help, or a list of email addresses for staff.

Overall, I am satisfied with Navion of New Bern. The Nurse on duty is wonderful, helpful, compassionate, and doesn't mind answering my questions or explaining medical terminology. [name removed], the activities director is great. She has a wide variety of activities available so anyone can participate if they so desire. [name removed], the sales director is friendly, and always ready to help. Most of the other staff are wonderful. They're friendly, helpful and does their to the best of their ability. The housekeeper and Maintenance Manager are top notch. Overall, it was the right decision to go to Navion.

I am searching for a facility where husband and wife can reside together -- one with assisted living and the other as independent living. This facility couldn't meet that need as an affordable price.

The staff at Navion of New Bern are wonderful. They take great care of the residents. The facility is clean, doesn't smell bad, and improvements are constantly being made. I would have given 5 stars but there are a few processes that need to be improved to assure that tasks are done consistently and the best they can be done. The people in key leadership positions at this facility are relatively new and they are working to improve all aspects of care.
