The nursing care here is absolutely terrible. My mother was sick for weeks and the nurse never even came to see her and was rude when I called her about it. I had to complain up the the executive director just to get someone to take her to the doctor. This happened more than once. I also heard other people complaining that their mother hadn't been bathed for days. They also make frequent medication errors. The food is a joke for the price you pay...they often don't even have the food that they show on their menus. They also raised the rent $[amount removed] at the beginning of the year with promises of improvements, and things have only gotten worse since Navion bought the place. Don't put your loved ones here, I truly believe you will regret it.

Don't even put your dog there. Our mother was there for a 30 day respite stay, and we took her out after a week because they just didn't do what we asked them to do or what we expected them to do for what we paid. All of their patients just languished in front of the TV all day. There were no activities. Our mom fell twice, and we were never able to get any explanation as to how she fell. Before placing her there, we had counted all of her medication. When we took her out, we determined that she got on average only 3-4 days of all of her medications. The only one she got consistently was her sleep aid. She was supposed to get 3 pain pills for day and got 4 for the whole week. We had enough Tylenol for 6 per day, and she got 10 the whole week. Aside from a few really good staff members, they just do not care. And they are seriously understaffed.

I was NOT happy with how I was dealt with. They would send my loved one to the hospital without letting me know. And I would get a call form the hospital, not even knowing that she was being transferred. I would ask for information from Carolina Reserve, and they would not get back to me. Finally they told me they were sending her to a behavioral place to be evaluated. I was told the behavioral place had diagnosed her with a type of dementia that Carolina Reserve does not provide care for and we needed to move her. I was not at all happy with how we were treated.

I would never recommend Cypress Place to anyone else. The care is subpar and the administrative staff are unresponsive to the family's concerns and questions. It would be nice for the staff to encourage and bring residents to activities. If the resident is fully independent then the activities are good for them.

The community is dazzling, but the executive turnover is suspiciously high. Within a month of moving Mom in, everyone I had interviewed was gone. Issues addressed with the executive director were countered with "I can't comment on what you were told by the former administration." Also beware: this facility practices hospital-dumping--sending residents to the hospital for a medical issue they cannot address, then refusing to let the resident return. My mom was "dumped" because she was a fall-risk. The Reserve wanted me to hire a private 24/7 sitter for fall prevention ($25/hr so $16,800 per month in addition to the $8,000+ Mom was already paying). Note I observed staff on numerous visits playing on their phones instead of watching residents. When I refused, Mom was "dumped" while in the hospital for pneumonia. The State of NC requires mandates a 30-day notice before discharge, but facilities get around it with a new assessment in hospital stating level of care can no longer be met.

Run far and run fast. It is gorgeous on the outside, but once you are on the inside you'll see all the flaws. I am sure it is totally fine for IL – but specifically in Memory Care there is no structure, respect or support. Worst of all there is no communication! All the issues start at the top - employees are not treated well & consequently do not like or trust management. Ridiculously excessive staff turnover. Mgt will respond to your concerns & requests for information only if they feel like it - choosing to ignore you more often than not. This is truly a business & not a care facility. Staff is prevented from talking to families about anything significant at the risk of punishment by the mgrs. Good workers do not last long because of the way the place is run. Do not confuse kindness with care! I would never have believed it by taking the tours – but once you are inside they are unprofessional & disorganized. If you truly love your loved one you will drive right by and keep looking.

Mistakes every step of the way. Facility falling apart. Mixed up my moms file with another resident. Conveyed incorrect information. My mom became a different person here the short month she was here. Health declined tremendously. Lost 22 pounds in a month. Could barely “shuffle” around. Once I moved her to a better facility, within two weeks gained back 10 pounds walking like she was 20 years younger and generally 10 times happier. I’m not sure what they did to her in there. On top of poor ability to do anything successful, employees don’t seem to care that they are so bad at what they do. All the way up to the president. She will continue a trail of jobs in depressed, failing facilities. Please consider any other options.

My loved one was at MR. I would not recommend it. High staff turnover. Always a different face for the residents so they cannot get used to a consistent caregiver, food looked awful and one resident said the roast beef was all gristle and dried out, they don't have enough staff to take care of the residents but they sure do charge a hefty fee. My loved one was always thirsty and frequently unshowered, messy hair, clothing on backwards, wearing other resident's clothing. The staff just does not care or pay attention to details. The building looks nice but that's about it.

When our loved one first moved into this community there was a group of people that ran the place that were very nice and very friendly. After a while things had changed, they changed the president and hired temporary staff members so everyone our loved one knew had left. Our loved one never recognized anyone because they were agency workers and every day it was a new individual she wouldn’t recognize. There was not a cleaning schedule or an actual schedule whatsoever. Sometimes it would take two weeks for her sheets to get cleaned, and sometimes she had to do them herself and still go find help. They ran out of her medicine more than once, and our loved one is highly allergic to certain laundry detergent so we supplied her with her own detergent and labeled it with her name. We also asked that her clothes get washed separately. However, when they would do her laundry they would return it with other residents clothing items, and one time they had completely lost her clothes and they were never able to find them. Another thing that really worried us, was one night we were bringing our loved one back to the community before it closed, we took her up to the third floor where her room was and there was another resident screaming running down the halls looking for help because her loved one had just fallen. We looked all over for the care givers that should have been on the third floor and we found them outside having a smoke break. Another thing that annoyed us, was when COVID hit they had shut down everything and we had to solely rely on them for everything and we would get calls from our loved one all the time saying no one has come to check on her or even help her shower. We could call and leave messaged, and never receive a call back. There was really no interaction between the residents and staff members, the only interaction there was, was when they would bring them their three meals and medicine for the day. Our loved one always ate her food on her stand by the TV, and the staff member that brought the food that day set it on the countertop, and our loved one had to walk over without her walker to get the tray which resulted in her falling and hitting her head. The staff called to let us know, that she had fallen and was put back into bed. We called back the next day to get an update and we were told she had fallen again and wasn’t acting herself. She was taken to the hospital and the doctor realized she had a stroke and a broken pelvic bone is two places. The communication was just severely lacking at this community

My loved one was to stay there for 10 days, that is what we paid for. He ended up staying for only 4 days. My loved one fell and broke the headboard, and they didn't seem to care about the fall. He was in the memory unit. Some of the staff didn't seem as concerned about the residents as they should. I felt the staff weren't watching the memory care residents and there was a resident who was trying to leave. There was a woman who laid down on my loved one's roomate's bed and the staff would have to move her. There was a funny smell in the memory unit, compared to the other units. I went out and told the staff I wanted to take my husband home. At first the staff didn't want to have him leave. This community wasn't for my loved one. I wouldn't consider putting my loved one back in this community.

Very overrated! The food is terrible and has been reported many times, but nothing changes. Need a certified dietician!! This is nothing more than a nursing home. Out of all the people that are there only 7 or 8 have their mental faculties. The rest of the residents have Dementia or Alzheimers. They have been sweeping the residents rooms because the vacuum is broke... for several weeks. Management starts at the top. Very disappointed in this place and it is expensive!!

Horrible place , my mother has been there for a little more than 3 years and has seen 3 directors come and go. They are always short staffed and the last director cut their budget so bad they didn’t have much of anything left . My mother lost her pendant a the beginning of this week and still has not been give. A replacement , I guess they don’t care if she needs help god forbid she falls. I have seen her go down a lot since their activity director [name removed] left , now they sit around and do crossword puzzles or bingo . Not so sure the new director will be any better than the last, also today one of the aids had her baby and child up there in the office as she no child care, who was watching them and who was watching the residents? All in all no staff, no enrichment and lousy food. Stay away !!!!

Medications are not dispensed as ordered. Medications run out and are not reordered in a timely fashion. Pain medication was stolen from two patients and nothing was done about it. The rooms are not cleaned often enough. The head person has been rude several times. Numerous times the front desk was called for help and help never came. They advertise that an RN is on duty and there is no RN there.

I moved my wife who had Alzheimer's disease to Chatham Ridge on [date removed]. In less than 48 hours she fell and broke her right hip. In addition to not providing my wife with any attention, they were giving her incorrect medication. I called that to the attention of their staff; however, I was ignored. One would hope that the staff would pay attention to new arrivals. That was not the case for my wife. My wife died on [date removed] as a result of the broken hip and the Alheimer's disease. If you want your loved one to receive inadequate care, place them at Chatham Ridge.

My father was a resident here for a month, he wanted to leave after a week but we had already paid a deposit and had to give thirty days notice. It was horrible! My father is Independent and Northstar was more like a nursing home. I feel like they should have been more honest and not taken him know that his level of care was not as high as the other residents here. He couldn't sit down and have a conversation with anyone. The food was terrible! It was completely Tasteless. He has since moved to another community and is much happier. It was more like a nursing home and The food was horrible. There were a lot of people there. They said they came around
