Cypress Place on Midland Parkway in Summerville SC is not where you would want to place your loved one. The meals supplied are substandard and I am shocked and appalled at the scraps they offer. I had to either bring her food or take her out to eat to supplement her diet. For $4000 a month this is not expected nor acceptable. In the last several months there has been a turnover of staff and obviously there are issues. My mother had money stolen from her wallet in her purse in her room this week. I never gave her cash before to keep in her wallet for 6 months. I had to move away for a week before she reunited with her family in another state and I left her some cash for her flight today. It was taken by someone working there. I would not even consider placing a loved one here.

My parents were there for about 6 months. My mom has been wheelchair bound for some time and quite often had to wait to be transferred to her bed or even changed if she needed to be changed. My dad sufferes from Alzheimer’s and did alright as long as my mom was there but we moved her to a rehab facility to help with her strength. While he was at Hammond by himself there were at least a couple of instances where they did not get fed on time because they forgot about him and he, because of the Alzheimer’s thought he’d eaten. I do not recommend anyone who needs anything more than a roof stay here.

The staff held mail and did not give it to my sister when she was unable to access her mailbox. After her death, mail was returned to sender. I hate that she probably thought no one cared at Valentine’s and other times when we were unable to visit her in person. Shameful! Her room, especially her bathroom, always needed cleaning when we visited. I would never recommend this facility.

Go anywhere but here. Period. My dad was there for several months. needed more care after some time... they were fast to charge us more, but never ever gave more care, except for the immediate hour after we complained or pointed out he was not getting it. They would do something and the next day, it disappeared. Dad died now... and 2 weeks later, the death certificate has not advanced from them. Carolina management is incompetent, they do not give near the quality or level of care they promise or charge for. Not sure if they don't care or if they are understaffed or it is just policy. Services that were promised going had to be fought for once in. They should be stripped of their rating and reevaluated for what they really are. I know I sound bitter. I am not. I am 100% realistic on what to except and 100% honest on what was delivered. And the food... it is awful. Bojangles would be considered gourmet. But that is minor in comparison to all else. There must be better solutions out there for the aging.

I have toured this facility on two different occasions and at different times of the day. They are very short staffed and a patient even fell when I was touring. Not because of neglect but because the staff were tending to other residents. Staff presented to be overworked. I had requested to speak to the administration on two different occasions and that person was never there nor returned my phone calls. No one knew where administrator was or when that person would return. That is not professional at all. Do your research on adult care homes so when you do a tour of a facility you know what to look for.

My mother was robbed three times by Morningside staff. Her medication was not only mismanaged, but the med techs on staff lied about administering her medication. The final straw was when staff members verbally harassed the sitters I hired to help ensure my mom's safety and wellbeing. My mother was only there four months. Stay away.

This is mostly dementia patients that I have seen some of the staff treat poorly. They hold anyone else who doesn't have dementia [Removed]....they can go into the crappy "garden" are, but now to sit on the rocking chairs out front. The food is horrible, prepackaged garbage that is detrimental to the health of those that live there. [removed]. The new Executive Director at Cypress is[Removed] and mostly unavailable. The ladies that work there are nice, however the management SUCKS and needs a complete overhaul. They LIE LIE LIE to get you sucked in, only to break every promise they make. If you care for your family member, DO NOT put them in this filthy "facility" to be held hostage. [Removed]

Please make sure you discuss in detail the care your loved one needs before bringing them to this facility and get it in writing. My family and I were told our loved one would be taken care of and their various needs would be no problem to meet. We were extremely impressed with the staff's care and fell in love with the place at first. After two months of our loved one being in this facillity, the executive director and team began to try to take back all the care promised to us in the beginning (that we were previously told would be no problem, plus no extra charge), and they became ugly to us, would call us everyday, several times a day, and wanted our loved one to move out ASAP due to not wanting to meet the needs of our family member. Please discuss everything with this facility and get everything in writing. This team is deceptive and will skew the truth and exaggerate circumstances.

Make sure that your loved one's level of care is properly evaluated. My mother only stayed there a week. She fell 3 times in 4 days. ER Doctor recommended no taking her back. Cindy just wants to fill rooms and took over 10,000 from us. Would not refund anything. That was an expensive week and my mother was not properly cared for. No communication throughout facility. Huge disappointment. Look elsewhere

I have recently moved out of town and called Manning to inquire about my mom. I was informed by one of their staff that I could no longer call to inquire about my mom. What kind of prison is this when they don't tell you about your mom? Seems the staff need to be investigated.

Well you can't write a review that is bad So what is the point. But I would like to make future Tennants aware that there is an employee there that smokes Marijuana, and she is [removed]. I will make sure that this is public. There is a concern for the safety of the residents. A mandatory monthly drug test should be given!!

Nice place, terrible nursing staff especially the head nurse. She is very rude and disrespectful.

My Father only spent 2 months there. I visited at leas 5 times a week. From top down....Management bad, serious lack of coordination and communication with staff. Staff, obvious that the vast majority was there for a paycheck, actual caring about residents was secondary at best. They were ignorant towards guests as well. Housekeeping....yeah, right. Laundry was supposed t be done every Tuesday and Friday. We (my daughter and I) had to continually ask for it to be done. Cleaning the room....right. He had an "accident" in the and it took 3 days to get it cleaned. The facility is a disgrace to assisted living. I will be filing a similar letter to the BBB and NC Council on Aging

What is happening to all of the staff?!? The environment is unstable and they just raised the rates. We have hung in there as long as we can. Currently looking to move after the first of the year.

We originally found the facility through A Place for Mom and were happy with the price. Then the level of care went up and my mom is getting less attention than before. The nurse and director quit. Unfortunately we are now starting our search over. She deserves to be taken care of by staff that want to be there. We are touring two places today and hope to find the right one this time.

To much turnover in staff and management. I wouldn't be comfortable moving my father in.

We are currently looking for a place to move my parents. Manning Place claims to provide dementia care, but simply raises the price and no extra care added. A complete rip-off with management that only sees $$$.

This was a great community but has gone down hill in the past couple of months. They only care about heads in beds and it's sad. We moved my father out.
