Mustang Creek Estates

Picked this place because it was pretty new and clean. I would recommend, only if their loved ones were not active. For an active senior who's always been busy not enough for them to do to keep them occupied. They would basically be in their room all alone majority of the time. The place overall is in extremely clean and modern but just not for my mom.

Activities - Mom not interested in participating. All the rest dependent on who is working that day. Rate All care including cooking/serving is done by one aid for the 10 residents in the house. Some aids are very competent, friendly & able to multi task while some are not able to keep up the pace! I've talked to the manager about this. An expense that surprised me. All drugs including otc's have to be provided by their pharmacy. So those items like Tylenol, Metamucil, Prilosec , vitamins are an additional (higher than Walmart prices) charge. Thank you for your assistance finding this house for my mom.

My loved one was previously a resident at Mustang Creek Estates Burleson and his experience at this facility was okay. I have great respect for [name removed], she has a thankless position that she handles with grace. Everything was to our satisfaction except for the care. The staff would be very helpful and willing to help do anything that I asked. I just felt that they didn't have the initiative to help without being asked specifically. For example, brushing teeth, putting to bed- my loved one had a hospice tech who did those things, if needed.

Great option for a private-pay family member who needs living assistance but not full nursing home care yet. Activities and home-like setting. Safe and kind staff. We picked this community, because it is an affordable, home like setting

The community is great! It is exactly the type of environment my mom needed. The homes have an amazing family style arrangement for the living and dining areas. Meals are home cooked daily. Nothing about the environment feels institutional. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and loving. I cannot say enough great things!!!

Staff is consistent about giving meds. Staff is not consistent about other care - getting up in morning, getting to meals, getting to activities, getting showers/hygiene performed. My mother can do everything herself, but needs prompting & encouragement. Not only does MCE not have a nurse on staff or on call, the staff is not capable of basic first aid. Staff is not capable of other interventions (assisting with hearing aids, assisting with new dentures, prompting on physical therapy exercises). A final comment is on the high rate of turnover at the Frisco facility, from the Exec Dir on down. I am on site once or twice a week, and it is disconcerting how seldom I see the same person twice (after accounting for shift changes). On the other hand, the major reason we selected MCE was the homey, small building environment in which my mom could see and have meals with a small number of fellow residents. My mother has adapted more quickly and better to this than the larger buildings and resident populations she was in before.

Overall this is a good place and a great value. Turnover is very high, but I think that's an industry-wide problem. Care can be shaky at times due to turnover, better when there's continuity. The staff are friendly, and they take care of my mother and her needs. And the price is outstanding for what you receive.

They had extremely nice staff there. It was just a bit too old for our liking, and the rooms were that of what you'd find in an older house.

We toured with Mustang Creek Estates in Keller. It was a nice facility, but it was much too small for what we were looking for.

We did get off to a rocky start because my loved ones care needs progressed quickly, but overall they have been great to work with. The staff are very sweet and call with any updates, they seem to really genuinely care about the residents. I would absolutely recommend Mustang Creek Estates Frisco to other families.

Our family had an in person tour and we thought it was a very nice tour experience but the only reason we do not pick this community is the cos, it was just a little to expensive.

I would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The community is a very good. This is a smaller environment and it won't overwhelm the resident when moving in. The care is personal to the resident. The staff communication with the family has been very good when we have questions or concerns. They keep the us informed of any changes. There are three meals a day served to the residents, along with snacks. If the resident doesn't care about the food available, the community does have some other options the resident can choose from.

The staff is very friendly, caring, and compassionate. They try very hard to do all they can, and for the most part they do a great job. It's just that they need more people, just so that they can check on the patients more frequently than they're able to currently. Also, the food and activities could use a little bit more variety. But overall, I would definitely recommend looking into it for your family member.

It's pretty clean. The actual working staff is very friendly. The food is pretty good. We picked this community, because it was newer, looked like it had somehting to offer, and it was smaller, in which they were able to provide individual attention. They can improve on, consitency with the staff and pay them more to keep them. The staff is very friendly. I would recommend to other families.

This was our 2nd choice. They don't have a nurse on staff. I didn't see residents out socializing during the tour, and wasn't sure how this would work for my loved one.

I toured this facility, it's a beautiful community. The layout concept is very unique, however, and wasn't the best choice for my loved one. The rooms of living areas are smaller, bigger common area rooms.

We've had a pretty good experience with this facility so far. Most of the staff is great, but there are some that maybe aren't so great. That seems to happen more on the weekends when they're using fill ins versus the regular staff. But I know part of that is because it's not routine for them and certain things can be challenging. They have good activities, I just wish they'd offer them more on the weekends. They serve great meals. Communication with the family is very good. Though it can be a challenge to get ahold of someone in the evenings. One thing I would suggest is that the staff wear their name tags. I know they have them, but not all of them wear them. Wearing them would be helpful for the residents, especially those who have Dementia. Overall, this facility is a nice, small place. It's pretty low key as far as the atmosphere and the residents. I would recommend them to family and friends.

My loved one is so happy here. The daytime care is absolutely fantastic. The staff are very caring, and they treat the residents as if they were their own grandparents. Some of the patients need to be fed, and they sit down at the table with them to help them eat. The food is great. If somebody isn't feeling well, they'll fix them some mashed potatoes or pasta, something light that settles the stomach, and you just can't beat that. They do what they can with activities - thinks like bingo, dominos, watching movies. There's a big, homey room with couches for gathering. They decorate it all up for Christmas - this past year it was a Grinch house with the Grinch there and snowmen on their doors. There was a great big Christmas Tree. They really went out of their way to make sure it was fun for everybody. They also decorated for New Year's and are getting ready for Valentines day - they just keep it going so there's always something new and exciting happening.

I wouldn't recommend the community to others for their loved ones. I would also recommend you be aware of a lady named, Lisa, who is in charge. The family feels that Lisa is all about the money and doesn't care about what she puts the family through. The place and other staff were great but the person is charge over everything is Lisa and if she is still in charge of everything then I would move on to another community.
