Mustang Creek Estates

Mustang Creek Estates has been great. Very happy with their services. It is an all inclusive price which was a huge bonus over others that we looked at. This is a great facility. Definitely the right place for Dad.

My dad and I toured this community for our mom and it was nice. Ultimately, we couldn't get dad to pull the trigger on it, even though we'd paid several months rent. No fault of the facility at all. It seemed like a great place and good value for the money.

It's pretty clean. My loved one does not really like the food. For the price, the value for the money is good. We picked this community because, my loved one had different restrictions, and they met their financial needs, and also different restrictions. It's not fancy but the people are nice.

Overall experience - good. Cost was good for my dad's budget. Place we left had gotten over the $5000 mark. One thing that I had to do a lot at night was to call and ask the evening/night staff to do certain things that needed to be done. I had a camera in his room and would see that the staff had not pulled him up in the bed or lay the bed down so he could sleep comfortably. That being said there were staff members that went way beyond the call of duty and took excellent care of my dad. I realize that Covid played a big part in hiring staff members. The day staff was an great crew, they were in his room every two hours to check on him and when they weren't in his room they were at least walking past the door and looking in on him.

This facility is pretty clean and pretty well kept. We noticed a lot of staff turnover here. My dad was there everyday with my mom and noticed several things. The staff didn't take the time to visit or work with mom. The food was cold often. There were also medication delays numerous times. I'm not sure that I would recommend them to family and friends.

This facility is pretty good and overall clean. They do seem to be short staffed. Housekeeping is good. I understand that memory care is harder to keep up with at times, but they do a really good job. Dad really likes the food. He doesn't participate in the activities, but they still have someone who comes by often to interact with and stimulate him. The only complaint I have is with laundry. They seem to misplace clothes often. Communication with the family is pretty good. I would recommend them to friends and family.

Cute community; however, it was too small for my loved one. The spaces and rooms were small, and I could see a lady enjoying this community more than a gentleman.

Families need to be proactive in dealing with the staff and expressing their desires for their loved ones. Whenever I come to them with requests, they respond very well. Meals are one of the big pluses, especially for my loved one who can be very particular. The food is good home cooking, with plentiful servings and varied options. She likes that she's able to get her hair styled on site with a hairdresser, which is really a nice service. We appreciate that she's safe there, and it's a pleasant place to be, including interactions with the other residents.

I think they make a good effort to provide services. There are some inconsistencies, and that's mainly due to staffing. For example, they had promised a consistent laundry schedule, which has not been consistent. There has been a lot of staff turnaround. In my mother's particular case, there's a language barrier and specific needs. With the staff turnover, that causes issues. With cleanliness, overall I see that the rest of the building is maintained very well, but they only clean the residents' rooms once a week. So what happens is over that week time period, the floor gets pretty dirty. I would prefer to see that they vacuum more often, especially if they notice a need, rather than on a schedule. I'm in communication with the Executive Director, and she's very receptive to feedback. If an issue does occur, I speak with her and she handles it, which is very positive. I wish it didn't come to that at times, but at least there's somebody who's listening.

If I had to pick a community today, I would pick Mustang Creek Estates, again. The care is above average in the Memory Care unit. The staff is there for maintenance and cleanliness and aiding in general care. The staff are above average. The medication management, hygiene care, bathing and dressing assistance is some of the care types the community is able to assist with. It would be nice to see some additional staff; however, I do feel it is above average compared to other communities. I also understand this might be due to the reimbursement of Medicare fees from the state. The meals served are good and home cooked, and each house has a kitchenette to use.

What we really enjoy about the Mustang Creek Estate is the more personalized experience and care for our father in law. He is able to get more one on one attention which we appreciate. It has been a good experience so far, no real improvement as of yet. They do a great job is something happens, they adapt and fix it right away

It's good, the staff is great. The cleanliness could improve and the meals are ok. Their is too much inconsistency on activities. It's either too much or not enough.

I like Mustang Creek Estates Sachse a lot! There's always enough staff. Each one has their favorites and gives them a little more TLC. They're very nice and kind. There is always someone there to help, and they answer the call buttons and get there as quick as they can. It's a homey environment. It's a smaller community in a house, with only about 10 people, and I like that setup. And there's always two staff members there 24/7.

It is nice but they are definitely having staff issues. They are having problems keeping staff.

I had a good tour with Mustang Creek Estates. They did a good job with explaining everything thoroughly and answering my questions. The room sizes here were too small for my loved one and we also did not like how they did the dining.

Great community.

This is a reasonable caring place for your loved one. They have activities like going out to eat, going to get ice cream. They also have an activity director that goes in and does great with the memory care.

This is a better location for my loved one but did not have the therapy needs at the level that my loved one needed then.

We had a good tour but we were not crazy about the format here. We were looking for something that offered more independence.

We had a very smooth move-in process. I love the atmosphere. It's more of a home-like atmosphere than a regular facility, which has been better for my mom. She has the same care staff all the time. So she gets to know them, and they get to know her, which has been really good for her. And I can tell she's comfortable with them. Mom was not eating at the place she was at before, and they thought she just couldn't feed herself. But now that she's at Mustang Creek Estates, she's finishing her plate and sometimes asking for seconds. And I'm very pleased to see that.
